Question: what jig and/or trailer to use in heavy milfoil? I am just getting into bass fishing with jigs (beginner). My favorite fishing hole is about a 3 acre pond. Crystal clear water. Again super heavy milfoil and moss. They cover literally the whole pond almost all year round. If a jig is not recommended. Please advise. Thank you.
I have caught the biggest (3.5 lb.) On the drop, to date on a black and blue jig. Not sure what the head shape is. Octopus looking shaped head. Swim bait as a trailer. Pearl sassy shad with boot tail.
Great content. Keep up the great work educating. We learn as we learn.

It just so happens that I started experimenting with a football jig on Sullivan Lake about a week ago. The 6'10" Tatula MH fast rod I was using wasn't landing the bites I was getting. I've got a 7'3"MH Legend Tournament Carolina rig rod ready to go the next time I am out. I'm guessing it will perform similarly to the rod you were using. I chose that rod before watching the video, but nice to know I was on the right track.

Of course, you can use whatever you have! You will be more effective with a jig though, if you save up and get a longer stiffer rod like a 7’4” H. This video explains why: ruclips.net/video/JhNebCob8Us/видео.html

      Man, this comment is WILD😂
      1. I showed the entire process of setting the hook, fighting the fish, and putting my rod down, then changing the battery and picking up my rod to still have the fish
      2. I tightened my spool tension so that the fish could run but not cause a backlash. It’s a very simple technique
      3. I wanted to get the whole thing on camera forby’all, so yes I swapped the battery and kept going. I didn’t “randomly notice”, I heard the double two toned beep that my camera gives off as it dies. It obviously was not picked up by my chest mount audio
There is no lack of honesty here, there is only a lack of understanding for how much I care about my videos, and the lengths to which I will go to make them the best they can be with the skills and knowledge I have.

@@TylersReelFishing I appreciate your videos and watch all the time. If you opened your bail on a baitcaster and there was no mess, I need a video on that technique! I think the reason I question, aside from the bail part, is there were a lot of edits and cuts. Yes, I know editing is part of it, but the sequence seems a bit staged. I’ve enjoyed your endeavors, no doubt! But bail open rod on the deck with no anchor while it’s tightened up? I honestly may be really bad at my technique, but I don’t understand how the bail is tight enough to prevent nesting but not require anchoring the rod.

The fish at that point in the fight was tired, and when a fish does not feel anything pulling back, I have found they swim away at a rather steady pace, not with any bursts that could cause the spool to speed up.
If you would like, I can email you the entire chest mount clip without an edit.
