I feel your pain. I'm up the road in Prescott where it's typically 10 - 20 degrees cooler, but I stopped imaging in the summer months when I fried one of my air-cooled mini PCs.

FWIW I have imaged many times in similar temps here in Melbourne Australia. I keep my mount permanently under a telegizmo cover, and have done it for a few years. As long as there is a slight breeze the Mele Mini PC seems Ok. The only struggle is cooling the camera's but normally possible to get it in the ball park of useful cooling. I wouldnt worry about the grease - unless its REALLY poor stuff it should hold up with those sort of temps.
Do hope it cools down for you though.

This is something I've always wondered about. In Japan we can see 100F easy during the day in August and into Sept and probably much higher humidity than you see. In the past I packed up for this period, but this summer, I tried doing AP anyway by setting up every night (still 90F at night + high humidity) but I experienced frequent disconnects of the mount and auto focuser. I thought the heat might be the cause, but I was also worried about the sensitive camera components. I can cool to 0 but the cooler runs at 80% or more. Frustrating...

I wish they did do cameras that had the possibility of doing liquid cooling! It would be a definite help LOL! Clear Skies!

      Hello,
Pretty much the same here ins Western France and this summer end quickly shitted very early to autumn...
Temperatures close to 10/15°C and almost all nights cloudy...
Rain very often, and few nights available for our hobby...
But, frankly, I prefer my temperatures and the rain, when you see what's happening to Dave !
And it ain't gonna improve, as pollution is very high in the USA and the El Nino/Nina phenomenon doesn't make things any better!
Many places in India, Pakistan have become hostile to human life, but I just wonder if it's not getting the same in the hottest U.S states!
I don't know how they manage to live days, weeks, mnths and years like that!
      No other choice I guess...
The worst is that we cannot say "courage it's just a bad moment to pass”, no, it's a trend that will continue and amplify as long as no serious action is taken by the planet's most polluting countries...
In any case, the effects are set in stone, there's no longer any possibility of reversing them, that's a fact, but we can still limit the consequences a little.
Let's be clear, this is not a judgement against ordinary Americans, who are suffering more and more of the consequences on a daily basis, but simply against politicians in denial, and above all businessmen who only see the future in terms of their own short-term interests...
I'm really sorry Dave for all these constraints, which I imagine you'd be happy to do without ;-)
Looking forward to seeing you again in better conditions and continuing to share your experience and advice!
      Philippe
