The ad is for Johnson Outboards.
Outboard Marine Corporation made both Johnson and Evinrude outboards. The brands were identical to each other except for cosmetics. After OMC went bankrupt, both brands were bought by Bombardier.
Could that have been a deliberate entendre? Possibly. I worked for OMC for 15 years. They also owned Lawn-Boy, Ryan and Cushman lawn-care and snow removal equipment, and Pioneer chainsaws. Once, at their HQ in Waukegan IL, I saw an ad poster of a bunch of scantily-clad women. They were in the woods, holding Pioneer chainsaws. Dressed in boots, and probably helmets and gloves. But basically topless. Just Daisy Duke cutoff jeans, with two strategically placed suspenders. The right suspender (the left one, from the viewer's perspective) said PIONEER in vertical lettering. The other one said CHAINSAWS.
RSPCA presumably means Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and they're saying they're overcrowded and underfunded so they'll have to put the Kill provision in motion unless you help out. I wonder... in the UK, where even the Cops don't carry handguns, why does a Shelter worker have one?
I saw an old commercial for United Fund (before it was renamed United Way). A guy was being asked at his workplace to check the box for a United Fund deduction from each paycheck, and he wasn't going to do it. But then he had a vision or dream, where he was walking thru a daycare and knocking glasses of milk out of kids' hands. Then he was in a hospital, pulling IVs out of patients' arms. After he awoke and had seen the light, he checked the box.
And here, we thought the fake evangelists with the 60 million dollar private jets laid it on thick. They do, but they're not the only ones.

AYDS was a DIET CANDY a rather unfortunate name in latter times. Johnston was / is the name of a famous outboard motor. Wonder Boner? This has got to be a southern invention and yes, they were likely serious. Like many programs of the time they used the actors of the show to do sponsors advertisements, The Flintstones was a PRIME TIME program (7:30 PM) in most markets marketed to Adults until Pebbles was born and they changed sponsors One-A-Day Vitamins, Welch’s Grape Products, Quaker Oats. The Dog commercials were from the UK hence the Pound.

Weight loss pills that tastes like candy, that was a law suit begging to happen. Having three commercials for the same project was a bit of a cheat.

Really, they are no worse than what is on t.v. now. Bent Carrot, viagra and that other brand, every type of drug you can imagine, including the ones to cure the side effects from all the other drugs they advertise, edibles, and don't get me started on the internet ads.
