Pretty things today! My mom was born in 1939, as an adult she collected pink depression. Multiple flower patterns. Her inspiration, an Aunt who collected green in similar patterns. Now it sits in my basement, as the only girl I ended up with it. I've started a little attempt at a watermelon set. I so prefer the green over the pink. My personal favorite is amber glass. It's so nice in October/November. Thanks for your videos, nice on a taking it easy day.
I was born in 1951 in Michigan but my parents were from Missouri and Arkansas. I grew up drinking sweet tea from Mason jars. No fancy glasses for us. 😂
Hello, this was so fun. You know how to do this so well. Because of you I think I will have a new hobby in decorating with dishes. I can’t believe you know “Buttons and Bows” lol! I admire your schedule. It’s not easy to work for yourself. You do a great job and I thank you for the knowledgeable and entertaining video.
Hello Scott I just have to say about all those children’s books with the records sets. I used to have some of those and would sit infront of my little portable record player. It was my favorite thing to do is sit and listened as I read along reading the books. I can’t believe you found those and you just sparked a wonderful memory for my of my childhood. Thanks for sharing those. Hope you have a great rest of your day.
I loved hearing about your Grandparents and how they got their Fostoria. My mom had Fostoria Holly Pattern but both Grandmothers were American Fostoria later in life. I do have a ballerina girl pitcher from my maternal grandmother.
It makes me feel better that if you don't know then it's ok for me not to know. :) I bought a rectangle cut glass bow with feet that is just stunning. I don't know if it's old or how to even tell, but it sure looks good on my table.
Scott you know I love, and have, Fostoria Baroque Chintz pieces and the entire set of stemware that was also my grandmother's! Please make a video with your mother showing it, and talking about it! Thanks for the Lunchtime Live!
Had the Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day one. Those were a great find. And Piglet is the pink animal you were confused about. I’m a year older than you and had some of those books but at that point I was getting K-tel disco albums! lol
Sorry I missed you live. Your voice cuts in and out after you said your phone overheated. Maybe it was just on my end. I still love watching and learning from you Scott on your videos. Everything was beautiful 🧡Stay cool and think fallish thoughts 🍁Maybe it will cool us off soon. Happy thrifting
Scott your eapg set is a creamer and spooner. The sugar is larger with a lid. Duncan,George & Sons Paneled Daisy and Button circa 1885. Love it ❤ another great find 👍
@karenwilliams8465 It's a beautiful pattern, I love it too! ELLROSE was the original manufacturer name, yes? The companion pieces are stunning as well!😍
Love the books w/records you found. I loved my standing record player on spindly legs and those early Disney stories/songs. Curious what those will sell for now?? 💖Noelle Stiles
Again…I think anyone who was a kid in the 80s remembers those records. I had Snow White and another Disney one I can’t recall. I’m about 7 1/2 or 8 years younger than you, but my brother and sister are a few years older, and anything that was a part of their age group I was exposed to. We had a 70s cabinet record player that didn’t sound healthy, so it wasn’t used often…except at Christmas! We did play the Christmas records!
Scott you asked us to comment on what depression glass we remembered from childhood, and for me it would have been my grandparents who had it. I just remember random pieces of pink and green being around, it wasn't a particular full set of anything. I mentioned in the Live Chat that I have 12 Anchor Hocking green boopie ice tea glasses that were my grandmother's, and I recall her mentioning she got them in the 50s or 60s as a promotion associated with Tetley tea. I have memories associated with them, that's why I wanted them when she passed away, but I didn't know until starting to watch you who made them. Now, about those records and books you showed, oh my goodness I need to get some of those, great gifts for the grandkids this Christmas. Will you be selling them as a lot? Or individually? I heard you say you'd put them on ebay, I'll be watching your store like a hawk! I don't think I have notifications on, I'll have to figure that out. I just think the tactile experience of playing records would be so good for them. I appreciate you! I'll be watching and possibly buying, at the Autumn Extravaganza!
I would love to be able to turn my passion into a way to earn a living. I can’t. The X factor just isn’t there. I have to work a job to afford my passion. You have the X factor…the whole thing works. It’s very uncommon.
Had some of those Disney books but they came with cassettes in the 80s…born in 79

My son had to these. I think I loved them more than he did 😂

Really like the buttons & bows cream & sugar. Mother had clear Royal Lace plates & we used Iron stone white plates everyday.

Drove through Memphis and saw Sun Studios on my way across I-40 to LA. Enjoy your vacation.
I haven't had Pomento Loaf in 100 years. My Grandparents had a small grocery store with a Deli and that became one of my favorites.

Great find on the records. I'm in your age group. I remember the record player also. Remember the Ding. When it was time to turn the page.

Karen you continually amaze me. You’re like a living encyclopedia of EAPG. 🥰
Hey Scott we mailed the pkg to Little Rock. Steve did his best to recreate your careful packing.

I had the little yellow records as well as 78s. I would listen to them while I was building my fort.
😊😊It was a dragonfly on The Rescuers😊😊😊
Love your videos , I love old things too.
