I like being at the NBL. theres a camera in the pool that you can control when in the viewing area. its fun to see if you can see yourself on the camera by positioning it towards you.
I've been in the warehouse that's literally on the other side of one of the walls in there. My FIRST Robotics team was visiting the NASA-funded FRC team, the Robonauts, in their workshop behind the NBL.
I just spent the last 3 days at the facility doing Helicopter Egress training and water survival. Thanks Chris, and team, for the great job and safe operations. A very impressive facility.
In the video about space suits, the interviewee said that space suits aren't custom made, and basically come in a small, medium or large. This guy is saying they *are* custom made. Which is it?
Norm with Scientists? I was thinking this whole time "How is he going to botch it this time?", but everything turned out fine and was actually a pretty good video.
I cannot compete with the outstanding ... questioning .. proclaiming .. commentary. It's very Sweet. Unlike the video, which was a beating my head on the desk caliber, Waste of Time.
by saying that you make it seem as if it's pointless to be first in anything the point of him typing first is obviously to either make other people mad or just simply to make himself feel better
Remember when the astronaut in space had his helmet filling with water. Maybe when no one is looking they use nbl to do the actual space walks they show on NASA tv.
the NBL or as the astronauts call it The Pool inside here is were ever spacewalk done on the station is practiced before they go outside to do the real thing.
every part of Space Station ISS is here except the Russian components. training for Russian modules is done in Star City Russia outside Moscow. US Segment,Japanese Segment, and European Segment training is done here or in Munich or Tokyo.
Oh we Russians always try to stand out from others and make things our own way... It's part of our Russian charm I guess, nothing we can do about it... Don't know if it's good or bad though...
+MrGeneralRelativity Well you have a different space program, apart from USA you are the only ones who have a fully featured setup, everyone else just tags along for the ride. And right now if it weren't for the Russian space program everything would be grounded for possibly 5 years because NASA is lacking funds for new rockets. It is troubling that the countries are at odds with each other and the cooperation is at arms length, but if it weren't for Russia developing their own stuff then US would dictate everything regarding space flight.
looks awesome but when he said they put in a lot more hours then most.i dont know about all that i do 2- four to five hour dives a day at work but shoooot id dive there all day! 100 percent viz no fight tides or currents phhss im all about it
That is the big question, isn't it? Everyone just want to be first. But does it really matter? When you are first, what does that mean for your life? Do you get a price? Do you think someone will read your comment and think "WoW! That guy was first! I think I will give him? a million bucks!"? Will you find true love? It's a hard question to answer. Who knows, right? My guess though is that it will be of no consequence at all to your life. Except maybe you do realize that it is pointless be first
Our photos of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab here: www.tested.com/science/space/456628-photo-gallery-inside-nasas-neutral-buoyancy-lab/
This is fake space that your looking at. Wake up America your being fooled.
Thumbs up if you thought they were going to give us a sample simulation of the NBL in action.....
👍
Tested at NASA: How Astronauts Train Underwater at The Neutral Buoyancy Lab bit.ly/11YvHvT
You didn't show how astronauts train underwater? This might as well just have been audio
thanks for saving me 7 minutes
Zack thanks for understanding me this thing is nothing really i cane to watch some action but there is no action
Yeah, also thanks for saving me 7 minutes
Facts dude
Yes that is what i was also searching for..
That's friggin awesome. Would love to go there, let alone dive there.
There is something really unsettling about seeing those structures so deep underwater.
Astronaut in training: I don’t like to be underwater
NASA: fuck you
Where is the vacuum chamber located where the suits are tested? I want to see an astronaut in an iss suit without umbilicals attached
2:29
Got ya👌
Swagguy47 YT ok you got me
I like being at the NBL. theres a camera in the pool that you can control when in the viewing area. its fun to see if you can see yourself on the camera by positioning it towards you.
The guy Norm is interviewing kind of looks and sound like Ted Cruz haha.
Except this guy knows that science is real
+Ashwin Nair gottem
I was about to type that
Logan Smith you mean the zodiac killer
that pool is really nice i wonder how it would feel to swim in there!
It’s awesome I’ve been in it a few times
I've been in the warehouse that's literally on the other side of one of the walls in there. My FIRST Robotics team was visiting the NASA-funded FRC team, the Robonauts, in their workshop behind the NBL.
I’m trying to get a job there now. 🙏
@@Nacho2034 That's awesome! Best of luck!
1:15 I like how they put the German, Italian and Japanese flag together.
Great interview Norm. Really interesting and informative.
I just spent the last 3 days at the facility doing Helicopter Egress training and water survival. Thanks Chris, and team, for the great job and safe operations. A very impressive facility.
The Neutral Buoyancy Lab or as the astronauts call it The Pool. if an astronaut has to do a spacewalk this is where they go to get trained for it.
they should open that to the public cuz I'd love to go swimming in a deep ass pool like that
Would be so awesome to get a chance to dive in there
I did. Well, not here, but in Huntsville they have one
I am scared of water
Maulika naveenthirarasa that's sad =(
Ikr
+TheCoBBus I'll tell you how it goes.
wait so different countries astronauts all stay in the international space station?
The weird part is they have a full team of divers to drag them around rather than just making a mockup underwater propulsion system.
Science is f%%%%% awesome. This is so kewl. The pool will help us reach Mars.
no comment for over three years....now's my time 😎👌
Would it not be better to train in a vacuum? Are there any videos of Astronauts training in a vacuum?
In the video about space suits, the interviewee said that space suits aren't custom made, and basically come in a small, medium or large. This guy is saying they *are* custom made. Which is it?
Oh man, imagine playing a giant game of underwater tag in there.
wow, basically the whole ISS mock up is underwater, i did not know that. I wonder what the water filtration system is like.
Is there an Apollo capsule floating on the pool in the background?
Norm with Scientists? I was thinking this whole time "How is he going to botch it this time?", but everything turned out fine and was actually a pretty good video.
They train to run on Jupiter on that guys forehead too
i wanna go there for 1 minute with that guy just so i can say 'Houston we have a problem'
That would be a trip to work there.
The whole city of Houston is a neutral buoyancy lab after hurricane Harvey
One small little question what happened to the astronaut training !!!
it allows us to train astronauts like how we trained them on how to fake the moon landing, WOHOOO
It could be the camera angle but I'm pretty sure that guy is right handed and plays a lot of tennis in his off time.
i like word buoyancy so much. It makes me happy inside when i hear it, or say it
You mean where they do all their televise "space walks".
The right question is not HOW but WHY they train under water? 😱
this is awesome
I cannot compete with the outstanding ... questioning .. proclaiming .. commentary.
It's very Sweet. Unlike the video, which was a beating my head on the desk caliber, Waste of Time.
You can see Orion in the background
That pool scares me.
+Opinion Onion i think you have submechanophobia
Soundbox Yes, I do have submechanophobia.
Is this where they filmed the moon landings
No. That happened in your mind and of all the other idiots who believe that humanity isn't smart enough to go to space. 🤣🤭
Haven't been to that place in awhile.
Why ?
What you know about rolling down in the deep?
👌 It actually means "I GONNA RUN THAT NECK"
Why wouldn't they just drain the pool for maintenance instead of breaking components apart and hauling out in pieces with a crane?
welcome to texas man , I live just south of houston
This is cool
by saying that you make it seem as if it's pointless to be first in anything the point of him typing first is obviously to either make other people mad or just simply to make himself feel better
Damn that must be expensive!
that shouldn't even be a question!
Have they tried to stay 9 days under water without coming up for refill
Lol those chlorine burns on the diver. Too much time in that pool.
Me: What's the timezone of the ISS?
ISS: *yes*
thats so deep, i think Adele is rolling somewhere in there
What is the PH of the pool?
that was nice :)
Nobody told me about this job during career day in high school 😞
One of my robots got to go in the nbl for an international rov compitition
Will the chlorine bite through the spacesuit?
Hopefully not
Instructor stated that the suits used are designed for use in the pool And prolonged exposure to pool water
Looks like the Star Wars Rebel suit.
every part of Space Station ISS is here except the Russian components. training for Russian modules is done in Star City Russia outside Moscow. US Segment,Japanese Segment, and European Segment training is done here or in Munich or Tokyo.
Going through a pool would be a lot different then moving through a vacuum....
“Tell me about the japanese part, please tell me” 😆
Oh we Russians always try to stand out from others and make things our own way... It's part of our Russian charm I guess, nothing we can do about it... Don't know if it's good or bad though...
Lol
+MrGeneralRelativity

"Look at these idiots, having their own practice pool for their own space program instead of using the NASA one". Is that really your argument, dumbo.
It's called private and you could tell the difference about your toilet at your home and the one in public
I think it's cool.
In case Mars have a water.
TheAmazur20 what
Clap Reload lol
TheAmazur20 lol lol and more lol
Grammar xD.
I tend to think of him as a life size Gerry Anderson puppet.
All the water makes me thirsty
looks awesome but when he said they put in a lot more hours then most.i dont know about all that i do 2- four to five hour dives a day at work but shoooot id dive there all day! 100 percent viz no fight tides or currents phhss im all about it
Ships husbandry in the gulf?
In a way they have their own version of sign language. Think about that.
Hmm now I want to read a novel about an astronaut in trading and their adventures
*training
Why don't they test them in a vacuum? Can I see a video of an astronaut in a vacuum running?
Your hand?
how
Now we can see them in space🤣
HOUSTON H TOWN!!!!
Gok Wan meets agent McGee

Underwater tag? Hmm how about underwater LASER tag!?
No, you're thinking of Yuri Gagarin.
What makes you think they are even allowed to film the training? Not their fault you ADS kids can't focus on people talking.
Wow! They really do fake space
Of course the Japanese interviewer asks about the Japanese modules
Who else thought they would go down in
They will have to put a BFR in there in the future. People are going to have to train for zero G, and BFR is the future.
Any _astronauts training underwater_ in this video about astronauts training underwater?
This guy really sounds like he has his spiel down.
The nerds forehead is bigger and brighter then my future
Whats an Asternot? 0:27
How deep is it
Hi
how deep is it?
Hi 👋
Alguém assistindo??😊😊
He sounds like a Kyle Mooney character.
