I honestly love how people are comparing Disney's Pinocchio with the Pauly Shore Pinocchio.... AND THE PAULY SHORE ONE WAS MORE ENJOYABLE! 🤣
I haven't seen the Pauly Shore Pinocchio yet, but if it lives up to its trailer then it's definitely a more entertaining film than this.
it feels like disney missed the entire point of the original. when pinocchio gets trapped he literally escapes _because he lies_ . so good life lesson: lie whenever you want, it doesn't matter and it can help you! and on pleasure island kids just do... what kids do. they eat candy and drink root beer, that shouldn't be punished by turning the kids into donkeys and forcing them to work in salt mines or go to the circus for the rest of their lives. in the original they actually do bad things, like drinking alcohol and smoking cigars. and pinocchio actively participates, so it makes sense for him to get the donkey ears and tail. in the remake he didn't even want to do anything. they also fucked up the scene where lampwick turns into a donkey big time. the original was absolutely fucking horrifying, it kinda scares me to this day. the remake of that scene is just a joke compared to the original. they censored the "what do i look like, a jackass?" line so poorly too, i thought it was a glitch at first. pinocchio already knows good from bad from the start, he's just a victim throughout the whole movie, so what was the point?
I watched it. I can’t believe that you go from Back to the future and Forrest Gump to this! The themes of the original (about not lying and making good and moral decisions) were almost completely absent. It was either only for a paycheck or Zemeckis lost his touch in spectacular fashion! Good review
In my opinion they changed the core of the core of the character Pinocchio to the point where he didn't even need a conscience. The original Pinocchio made mistakes he had to learn he was a puppet before so he had to learn because he had no idea. This Pinocchio was already created with a conscience so what was the point of the cricket?
The next remake will be worse.
For me this is the second worst Disney remake behind Aladdin but it is the worst movie of the year I had a full on meltdown nearly when reviewing this on my Channel
I agree, this is easily the worst film I saw this year. And I saw Morbius opening night so that's saying a lot!

This movie both sucked and blowed. I watched it the day it dropped on Disney+ and I have deleted it from my Disney+ watchlist and NEVER AGAIN !!!! 😡💀😱😰🤮
The kid who played Lampwick was hot though. If I was much younger I'd date him.😍😘🥰💞💕
Going to be the counterpoint here and say I don't think it was particularly terrible. I think aspects of it were enjoyable. Obviously it can't hold a candle to the original but that goes without saying. However the ending was a major disappointment. Negating the entire transformation of Pinocchio to a real boy blew my mind. What was the point in that? I think the director has lost the plot entirely.
I think it’s bad bc they cut out half the stuff out and it came out on sep 8 2022 😔 🪦
