    Thank you for taking the time to show us your kitchen. You may not be a carpenter, but your work looks really good. We shifted our bed platform to the back and moved our Chuck Box Camp Kitchen to behind the driver's seat facing out. We can now put the passenger 2nd row seat in and have enough room to carry the porta potty. My husband prefers the porta potty to the other option. We can't wait to test out our new setup on a short trip. Thank you for all your videos, you are such an inspiration, Safe travels.

      @@TheVanThatGotAway, I'm hoping to meet up with someone walking across the country, to walk over the Bob pedestrian bridge from Council Bluff, Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska. There are a lot of things to see, do, eat and drink there. My husband wants to see Omaha but really doesn't care to meet a stinky backpacker. He will likely drop me off and meet me at a restaurant after the walk. Omaha has really cleaned up and redeveloped its downtown the last few years. We live with in 3.5 hours of Omaha and there are lots of opportunities to camp or just stealth park around there.

    Make it do or do without."
    I plan to do a video of my van one day. It was videoed once by a popular You Tube Nomad. I've made a couple of changes and always tweaking. You have made a serviceable and lovely home away from home. Thanks for the how tos

    I would love to know how you rented your home to be able to travel. Did you do it through Airbnb? How did you deal with guests coming in and checking out…who cleaned in between? Did you rent the entire house or just a part of it? Weren’t you afraid of having your personal things damaged or stolen? Did you lock any part of your home where you didn’t want your guests to have access to? Hope to hear from you soon!

    I've got something similar in mind for the Odyssey I'm converting; where you put solid panel (next to fabric) I'm thinking of making that where a flip-up table will go. Fold down for driving and to secure shelf and up for use and access to shelf. Plus, I'm only hauling less weight of plywood.

    Hi Leslie, i've been Vanlife'ing for 3 years and now and now live in punta Gorda. Are you planning any meetups? I have master carpenter build that is very beautiful, but id rather have a minivan. My van is a chevy express and looks like a cozy lodge on the inside and work van outside. Would be great to get some people together to see each other's rigs up close. Just a thought! Im subscribed and love your channel!

      Hi Rosy! Omgosh, that's a great idea 😀 We just started 6 months of travelling, so we're not in FL for a while. Are you doing any travelling this fall/winter? Also, congrats on what sounds like a very cool van build. I would love to see that in person, yes I would.

    Why in the bottom the cabinet did you cut out the seat Channel? If the seat was there, the cabinet wouldn’t be...is there a reason?

    • @TheVanThatGotAway
      @TheVanThatGotAway  2 года назад

      Hey RDT! Yep, the bottom platform wouldn't sit flat if I didn't cut the hole.

    Another great Idea! Just a question Why do you not want access to the fridge in the van? How about a sliding panel to access the fridge

    • @TheVanThatGotAway
      @TheVanThatGotAway  2 года назад +1

      Hi Kay, Great question! When the bed/bench is in bed position (which is most of the time) the bedframe covers up about half of the cabinet. That's where I installed the back panel. I certainly could install an access door but in the interest of simplicity, I decided to try it this way. Works great, as we only really need cooler access when we're stopped somewhere. And it's easy enough to just open the door from the outside. Thanks for asking!

    It's not the best kitchen by anyeans, to even suggest it holds the title of a kitchen at all is a large stretch
