I know right that's why the OG Winx Club series became a hit and popular! Their designs and outfits were designed by an actual fashion designers in Italy.
Or go the sailor moon/nana route and reference pre existing, high quality designs. I stg the team behind this reboot is already lazy and money hungry, they had to add tasteless to the mix?
Honestly their outfits are all too pink… what made the original unique was the fact that the characters had diverse colour palettes, and the outfits still managed to be feminine and fashionable without having to be oversaturated with a ‘girly’ colour.
I agree with you, honestly they keep adding pink pink pink. I know pink is cute but bloom is blue not pink nor purple. I love if they use pink in tiny bit only. But now when i think about it they keep getting more pink 😅
@@ryntherain230 i honestly dont really mind the pink on bloom, though blue + yellow looks far better on her. For stella however, a (nearly) full pink outfit just doesnt suit her. I think pink shouldve mainly stayed as an accent colour for only flora and aisha as it matches their palettes best.
@@crying2311 yeah accent color is okay but full pink purple one is make me sad 😅. Maybe because i have trouble remembering everyone, when i think blue and ginger i think bloom, yellow sunshine is stella. That simply help me 😅
I agree, if you followed the seasons of Winx Club after the first three seasons you will noticed how their outfits changed through all the seasons. Their Season 4 and Season 5 main outifts had still their diverse colour palettes and their unique styles of individualities. But when Season 6 and Season 7 released their main outfits became look so similar with those pink pallete colors on their outfits and dresses. Their Season 8 main outfit was such an improvement because they bring back Bloom's blue pallete color but dang, their Cosmix, Sirenix and Enchantix outifts on that Season had a lot pink in it! And we got a new reboot that their outfit's colors are too much pink
I can gush over enchantix for hours! How it's a great metaphor for inevitable emotional AND physical transformation needed to find maturity and your true self. The hardships of puberty won't break you, they'll mold you into the most radient, beautiful and powerful creature. I think it's a very beautiful massage! Especially considering the pre teens target audience. One of the best examples of storytelling through fashion in my mind.
@spntageous5249 yep! It was a unique metaphor and that's why it felt so powerful when the concept of advanced magic was introduced. The contrast with their basic form felt so exciting. And then the whole thing was compromised and turned into a meaningless advertisement.
Because the media wants money and they are scared to take risk on all new media, they are scared to waste too much money and barely make any back. It also doesnt help that animation for the longest time has been continued to be overlooked and its always judged as just for kids which is why Transformers One isnt doing well in the box office but yet its arguably the best Transformers movie. In fact Ill do you one better, The Wild Robot all new animation film from Dreamworks, highly praised.
It's really the fact that Winx Club has been running for over 15 years and yet these girls haven't even graduated from Alfea. At one point, they were students then they were teachers in season 4 (I guess, I don't even remember much about Winx) then came back to being students, like how long are they going to be in Alfea for god sake? None of them are even married to their boyfriends yet. Why am I so frustrated about this show??? 😂😂😂
They technically graduated in the first movie, and a couple of them actually were being set up to marry their boyfriends. But Nickelodeon didn't think a cast of twentysomethings would sell to little girls, so they quietly retconned all of that in Season 5 😂
The reason the origional animated series was dumbed down in later seasons was contractual. I grew up in Italy, and winx club was partnered with RAI, Italy's national tv which has multiple channels. They originally aired on Rai Gulp which targeted tweens. They then changed RAI channels to Rai Yoyo which appeals to small children, but why they changed this I don't know!
@@izzyc127they debuted pretty recently so they only have around 5 songs and a remix so if anything I reccomend listening to their ep sis soft is strong the whole way through and see if you like any of their songs
I just don´t understand how they find it so difficult to understand what the real fans of the show want from a reboot or a new take on the original when its so obivious to all the fans
I think winx just needs a proper ending. (Preferably a movie not an ending season) and just leave it at that. Cause at this point I think everybody is either tired or fed up.
@@micah459 There was a recent W.I.T.C.H. reboot comic that came out. But I wasn't impressed with the art style change. The original comic was very dynamic and stylized, but in the reboot all the character's poses feel very static and the characters just look generically "shojo".
I do notice people only know winx club for the aesthetic and fashion more than the show. That’s why it gets rebooted so much. Notice how W.I.T.C.H never got ANY reboot? And that show had a stronger storyline and complex characters. If anything I’d want something from that, but it be 2d animated. I don’t trust anything live action. Edit:I’m aware of the new comics for w.i.t.c.h but I’m talking about a cartoon reboot with the same style or something like that of the original.
Even if they’re going to reboot it they’re going to still mess it up because they’ll put a message into it instead of actually having fun or having escapism
My problem with that is I tried reading the W.I.T.C.H comics and it went down fast, I couldn't finish them. Plus finding them online was hard. I really liked the whole concept though
@@amandakushner8665Definitely when it comes to girls centric shows it always has to be about politics or something of the sorts, boys shows are able to be fun and be carefree without worrying about politics. Look at the She-Ra reboot and the He-man reboot girls can’t have fun.
im just so tired as an og fan like pls just let it be at this point 😭 also why does the 2007 winx animated movie look better than the 2024 version ? lmaooo and the outfits are so uglyyy once again with the girls losing all their personality and individuality ONCE AGAIN and why tf is flora white AGAIN dont piss me off (also the 07 the secret of the lost kingdom is the only valid extra piece of winx media in my eyes)
Love that you talked about how great their iconic looks would be for Halloween, then Katseye dressed up as them! Hoping you do a video over celebrity Halloween costumes this year and talk about them!
I think if anyone wants a deeper more introspective look at Winx and everything surrounding it, I’d super strongly recommend the channel Unicorn of War. They seriously discuss all the season, including super well written, more tween based rewrites of seasons 5 and 6 and commentaries on the earlier seasons as well as discussions of things like the couple and themes. They are my go to for Winx content and if this video peaked your interest definitely check them out.
@@penguinspenguins2376 i agree. i don't care about them calling things gay but the way they edit and their commentary is what annoys me. no hate to them as a person and their videos are objectively fine, they're good quality, but it's just not my style of comedy or video i wanna watch
@@curepinkie1637 Unicorn of War seems to be the type of person who makes being gay almost their whole entire personality while also complaining about straight people, it's annoying. They have also called same-sex character duos gay couples when some of these characters are canonically in straight relationships.
Look, you're allowed to not like someone and not watch them, but to make assumptions about someone you don't know is a bit of a misuse of freedom of speech. Besides, just because, as you said, they are canonically in straight RELATIONSHIPS, doesn't mean that they cannot have a more diverse sexual orientation? Winx was made in the early 2000s when being queer was not as accepted, so of course they're all in straight relationships. But fans are allowed to hc them as bi because guess what, they never said otherwise and they're fictional? @@penguinspenguins2376
@@penguinspenguins2376 It's kinda funny that even though I'm a guy who grew up with Winx Club who's gay as hell, but I do find his gay agenda kinda annoying too. But overtime, I eventually knew to let it slide because it's just Unicorn of War being Unicorn of War. I kinda dig the humor he's going with for his videos. Always calling himself out, making himself the target of humor too. What's gold about him is his really interesting narrative ideas for creative writing.
What sucks is they could have done so much instead of just telling a worse version of the same story. I personally would have enjoyed a spinoff focusing on Roxy and her own Fairy journey (i’d retcon anything post season 4 and pinpoint what fairy form she actually has) or something centered on Witches from cloud tower
Honestly that's what I was thinking they could have done a spin off where you could have see Roxy's fairy journey or even Flora's lil sister, Mila/Rose. They could have made them the main characters along with introducing newer characters that would form the new winx team. That way it's relatable to the younger audiences and also enjoyable for us fans since these are the characters we have seen in the Winx show. They could have done 3 seasons of this show and added some fun episodes where the winx meet/hangout with these newer characters. Finally towards maybe the big boss battle for season 3 they could have had a mashup of both the spin off team and winx team fight side by side. There is just so many ways they could have made it better but instead they keep reusing the same characters again and again and stripping them down from what actually made them magical and unique in the first place. Sorry for the long reply 😂
No, we need a reboot. The timeline is messy, the plot has been lost. Wipe everything clean and start from scratch. Winx club has not been truly rebooted A SINGLE TIME! They keep on continuing the same uninteresting timeline.
@naehalmulazim Exactly! From Bloom getting engaged to her sister Daphne getting married 👰🏼 💍💐 We barely knew anything about Thoren just through the sixth season. Whereas, Sky and Bloom have been together since season one. It’s weird that Bloom got engaged in the first 2 movies and still not married. Daphne’s backstory is confusing, every power is STRONGER than the 🐲🐉🔥 DRAGON FLAME 🔥 the same source of power that created the entire magic dimension is not IMMUNE anymore.....season 8 is unwatchable because of the art style and the whitewashing of Flora and Aisha. From season 6 onwards the outfits are becoming more and more uniform..... they erased Musa’s tomboyishness..... Only a reboot can fix this mess
Fr like I’m excited! Most of the details to me look so fun in a modern day lens! And I love how much care and detail they put into Aisha’s hair. And the trix look GORGEOUS 🤭 in this reboot. As an og fan, I’ll be sat. I can’t wait to see how they’re going to do things this time around!
I'm so tired of these constant reboots. I wish they would do something new and use Winx Club as Inspiration, instead of a direct copy and paste. While the original show certainly wasn't perfect, it's iconic, and the live action series clearly showed that rebooting the show will never reach the original peak
I'm a guy so it my knowledge of fashion isn't that in-depth but nowadays it feels fashion trends seem to changing so rapidly because of Fast Fashion and Microtrends bolstered by TikTok. It feels like a type of style could be vogue for at most a few months before something else replaces it. So I don't blame the Reboot's designs for not being as fashionable compared to the OG cartoon which was made during a time where fashion trends had more staying power. My biggest issue with the Reboot Outfits is too much pink and Stella in a terrible shade of yellow.
What does being a guy matter? Most fashion was created by men , most designers are men. I know you probably meant no harm but such an outdated way of thinking.
The new 3D style is throwing me off. It feels dull and barely similar to the original style. It’s obviously teetering for the attention of young girls, but it’s a little outdated with clothing trends. When I was little, I stumbled on Winx and was enthralled by the animation and story. Now, I appreciate the storytelling of Winx’s early seasons and the variety of iconic fashion that the girls displayed. I might watch it if I have the time and for my love of Winx, but this reboot really isn’t presenting something new to the franchise. A reboot doesn’t have to be drastic but it should bring something new and be something *that the audience will like*.
the teaser trailer is pretty much still a work in progress (you can notice some unfunished animation thee btw), but some of the concept art for it was seriously better than what was shown in the teaser. hope they keep polishing it and give the gen alpha a bit of what us early gen z kids had
With the fashion in Winx Club, I've always been a big supporter of the simpler, early seasons style. The more ornate the styles got in the latter seasons the less appealing I found the overall design of the characters. As for the CGI show, while I'm not crazy for most of the redesigns, I am kind of happy with Bloom's default civilian attire in the trailer as it is reminiscent of her original outfit. (I always associate denim bell bottoms with her)
i simply do not understand why the industry corporates like to dumb down shows these days so only kids less than 3 years will watch them. I started watching Winx at 5-6 years old, so at the very start, prime demographic. And the live action? I could not watch more than a minute before i closed it. The 3 seasons were edgy enough, dealing with serious themes. And when they talked about weed? They literally live in a fantasy world, weed is the least fucking interesting thing there. Point is, I am So So tired of everything either becoming super dumbed down meant for literal babies that have hardly developed braincells, or hyper sexualised, overly edgy, uninspired, and aestheticly ugly live action series with bad actors and a complete rewrite of the concept. And let me not start on the missed opportunities to release high quality action games for consoles. The world, the concept and the battle system of Winx (s 1-3) lends itself so well to an action rpg game. I am so mad fr.
God why can't they just listen to their adult fans?? We keep screaming and screaming and screaming at them and they don't listen. It's like they don't understand conditional approval. I would LOVE a reboot but they're not doing enough work! How do you not understand your own show? We want _fashion_ not animator brain vomit. I'm convinced the soul of the show died at some point during nickelodeons licensing.
I know it's nitpicky but in the OG, Stella's color pallette actually worked with her skin tone, by making it warmer and more vibrant. Making her super pale in the cgi version AND dressing her in pastel yellow? She looks horrible
I have so many thoughts. Completely agree with you. Absolutely the draw was getting to watch characters deal with serious problems from saving the world to boyfriend drama. It was no longer the child cartoons where it's all about simple problems and learning about controlling your emotions. You are right that this is an area that is missing in current media. Unicorn Academy being the closest that I can think of, which still fails to depict how to handle interpersonal relationships. This middle ground shows are fun and light hearted enough yet deal with in real world big issues that make it re-watchable. Not to mention a slow over arching story compared to episodic little kids shows. It makes sense to me that the shows we "gradated" onto next were things like Vampire Diaries. The live action fails because it jumped genres and age brackets, like Archie did. Makes me think a lot about how Avatar the Last Airbender show has been so well liked, but adaptations have aged it up, without understanding why the "kiddyness" works for it. This is where they lost most of us in their fourth season because all of a sudden they were running a business and the boys had jobs. The audience no longer related to the characters problems. grade-schoolers don't know what it like showing up late to your shift or how to deal when your job is over whelming. The next piece that I think is really key is the visual. Like many of the other shows you referenced that were out at the time, they had more mature silhouettes then the ones found in little kid cartoons, but kept the colour pallet and simple lines. We now saw bellies and clear breast definition, but it was still simple outfits of just t-shirt and jeans. This also helped make them feel more relatable. Many of us could replicate a version of their outfits at home. After all, kids don't have a lot of accessories. I liked how their outfits (and transformations) became more detailed overtime. Showing how they themselves are maturing. Going from being dressed by their parents (in a sense) to now being able to go out and buy their own items. Just like us. But with keeping the bright happy colour pallet of little kids cartoons it held onto the blissful ignorance of youth. Let's be fair, kids live with rose coloured glasses and have a blissful ignorance of the world at large (as they should). Visually it was still simple and easy. It feels most cartoons directed towards a similar age bracket, including the images you shared of the remake, over saturate the screen with textures, layers, colours and glitter. Unicorn Academy being the first that comes to my mind where the main characters get an over stylized "make over" that feels unexplained and undeserved. Setting the main cast out as more important than the rest of the school because they got cool leather jackets and fingerless gloves rather than seeing their importance through their actions. (Think of Harry Potter as the reverse of this). Simplicity in kids cartoons happened partly for ease of animation and partly for ease of making the accessible and recognizable for kids. You want a small child to be able to spot a Dora product instantly on the shelf and you want a grade-schooler to be able to scribble your characters on their lunch break. Other than saying young girls like pink and glitter there's not much about the costumes that feel that they are supposed to be relatable to the audience. Kids can no longer replicate their favorite characters clothes diminishing one more degree of engagement. That's something I liked about Miraculous Ladybug. That most of the character costumes could be copied at home without needing to buy one from the store. (I mean the everyday clothes, but even the leads costumes wouldn't be to hard to make at home) This leads me into how the Winx girls evolved. As they faced more difficult challenges their clothing, more importantly their transformations, became more detailed. We can see how this becomes a problem by the time of Bloomix looking like a complex mess and less mature than the first one. It took three seasons and great sacrifice for the girls to unlock Enchantix. Having each following season (sometimes multiple) feature a new transformation diluted the magic and hard work when they first each achieved Enchantix. As it went on the show clearly opted for quantity over quality. As for the new animation, you are absolutely right that they're starting to all look the same. Including Disney (which you've pointed out in a separate vid). Bratz and original Monster High are prefect examples of how 3D animation can be used to create interesting an unique designs. (Though I personally have a soft spot for 2D cartoons). Even a younger kid 3D show Gigantosaurus has a unique designed. One has to wonder how much is this about the show creators and how much is this about where they are getting this animated. Maybe to keep cost downs animation companies are offering a basic design with custom skins rather than making it from scratch. Ultimately losing artistry in the process. Finale words, idk. I don't work in the industry and my only impact is opting out in consuming the new media when I feel it doesn't meet my standards. I hope as we get older and more people from the younger generation grow up and start working in these fields that their is a "renaissance" of tween/teen shows. If anyone read all of this, thank you 😅 I appreciate and would love to read your own thoughts on this. And if your the creator; Love your content ❤
I love this comment OMG I agree I was a Teen a few months ago but I cannot find any animated teen shows that are up to date it’s a challenge finding shows that are not too kiddy and not too edgy. Even at 20,I still personally stay away from things like Riverdale and Euphoria. I like nostalgia content....Winx Club was my childhood and I still love it to this day. Fate: The Winx Saga failed because the showrunners assume that young adults LOVE the dark and edgy which is not true at all. I wish there was a middle ground for BOTH teens and young adults. There’s children’s animation and Adult animation Youth culture is dying as we know it
@deathdual Yes that is sooooo true a lot of young people turn to anime because it has POTENTIAL.... Plus you can find an anime that aligns with your interests; for example if you like skateboarding 🛹 you can watch Skate Infinity ♾ which some of my peers back at college were passionate about. I’m trying to get into anime- I want to watch magical girl genres like the Precure series but I don’t wanna pay for a subscription streaming service I would rather watch for free. Anime characters are stylised and widely appreciated. Unlike the Western world if you’re a teen/young adult/ adult you’ll get criticised for liking cartoons because ‘it’s for kids’ . However I do like cartoons that are made for big kids (not preschool stuff Strawberry 🍓 Shortcake is an exception to this rule). Things like Teen Titans Go, Total Drama, Total Dramarama, MLP Equestria Girls, Barbie etc. Back then in the 2000s they had shows like Kim Possible, as told by ginger and Totally Spies (which are shows I watched as child even though it was made for pre teens and teens). Fast forward to now we as a young generation are taking advantage of when it makes to media. Not everything has to be gritty.... Plus I read on Wikipedia about executives planning to create YA animation for YEARS.....they described existing media like TOH (The Owl House) and She-ra, Tangled the series fits in this category. I read an article about this topic of how less common it is to find media catered to us. I can share it with you if you want. ITS JUST NOT FAIR!!!
like all i ever wanted was the same vibe of the winx girls with more depth to their personalities and storylines, exploring and expanding the interesting world they created that was unique and the vibe was very specific in that universe with new technology that could make it even cooler today, making plot lines similar to the original but more fleshed out and more adult like direction with more serious issues, battles and storylines etc, evolving the magic of the universe, obviously the amazing fashion that people still love, because i watched it as a kid i want the same fantasy of the world and the magic but evolving into more adult like content while still maintaning the nostalgia and fantasy of it, sort of like marvel but with fancy beautiful clothing, beautiful magic, beautiful surroundings and really the badass and femenine vibe of the girls and their friendship
I found out about Winx Club because I saw a DVD for the movie "secret of the lost kingdom" in france on vacation. For some reason, the movie was only in color on a computer but on the tv it was black and white. Never really got into Winx Club fully but I agree that the earlier stuff (and the movie for nostalgia reasons) were pretty decent compared to the new stuff.
You know, I used to watch Winx Club (it's one of my silly guilty pleasures) quite a lot and I genuinely cannot remember what the hell is the plot of the whole series. And I didn't even know that they're planning a reboot, I haven't watched the series in years 😂😂😂
Overarching goals. 1 get new transformations. 2. Figure out what happened to blooms planet. But mostly. It was just episodic. So every episode or 2 had their own goal
I think that the true Winx Club saga lasts for the first three seasons to the first movie: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom. A perfect ending where the Winx graduate and Bloom sets her parents free.
That's as far as I got too 😂 the relationships also kinda bothered me? Like they would seemingly have fought about random stuff and then they're lovey dovey and don't even apologise? That was very random and weird to me as a kid and tween.
To me the outfits look very much what teen girls are wearing recently these days (at least here in Puerto Rico). The only one that I don’t get is Stella, the one arm mesh situation is odd. From what I’ve seen in the fandom there is mixed feelings for this reboot, but at the same time it’s really necessary after what nickelodeon did to the show and to poor Iginio. Because of them is why the show itself was catering to the 2 to 6 age group rather than the previous one which was 4 to 13 (Which btw is the target audience for this new show) to the point that most of the writers on the Nick side of things were mostly script writers for preschool shows. And the creator did not want to do this originally but broadcasters basically pressured him into making the girls younger and the tone of the show to be more approachable to younger kids. And even if the show is somewhat similar to the og, there are still things that will change based on some stuff that leaked a few weeks ago. Their previous show Mermaid Magic was surprisingly great, not perfect but it was a fun watch. If the reboot will be anything remotely similar to it, im fully on board and excited for their new chapter! And this is coming from a die hard fan that watched the show since its debut.
I was introduced to Winx Club when they went to Nickelodeon and I loved it! I also have a soft spot for the Nick era, I played their games!💖 I hope They make a comeback the fans actually love thank you for making this video!!!!
My biggest problem is like, seasons 1-4 already exist and are still totally viewable and great. People can still just watch them. But the reboot seems fixated on mostly retelling the previous story of Winx Club. OG Winx already exists, why make Winx 2: Everyone Has Less Drip? It's a reboot. Be bold with the rebooted elements. Change *a lot* of things. Go big. Definitively say "this is Winx, but it's not just the Winx you already have again."
As someone who has watched the Nickelodeon version of winx club, I’m personally excited for it because not only it can be something that I’ll show my young nieces and cousins, but it’s better than fate the winx saga. You’re also not wrong about them having Disney channel styled outfits tbh.
I do think the fashion and some of the coloring could be better, but honestly, I’m curious how the changes to the story will turn out. Also, some of the animation shots look pretty good (not all, but for example the powers, and the library and some locations). It’s just a trailer, likely to see how people will respond, so I think it can get better from here (although I do agree reboots aren’t really necessary, although og Winx club finished questionably)
I totally agree with you . The reason why they’re rebooting shows like those is because they have no creativity anymore there’s no new shows anymore for kids or for adults and they’re pushing politics into those as well and they could’ve done well continuing the wing story they could’ve had an adult Chapter books like the books after the movie of the last Kingdom or after season three and I could’ve done it out with more adult themes and they would have books away the individual characters and their continue storyline and some of the boxes are meet up or battle scenes When they come together and have their own personal journeys but they will never do that even if someone does it’s just going to be horrible fanfiction
Maybe i'm a black sheep in this, but as a lifelong Winx Club fan I'm EXTREMELY excited for the reboot. Sure, the fashion is pretty dissappointing, but I can feel the effort that's being put into this. I feel like bringing it back to Gardenia and essentially doing a full reset of the series is the way to go. And as an animation fan, some recent cartoon reboots I've been following have really pleasantly surprised me, so I'm holding out hope for this one! I'm also a heavy advocate for 3D animated shows (because I don't like 3D animated movies) so the animation isn't as jarring to me as it is to others. If you watch the Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory series' you're already used to the 3D look
U know what does deserve a faithful reboot??? TROLLZ!!!!! (In 2D of course) literally would give up my first born to have that show fully revamped, the fashion is simply too good
Trollz technically does have a reboot. It's the current Trolls movies/franchise. The 00s show was an attempt to update the property for that time period, but it didn't go well. I'd love a Trollz comeback too, but considering how popular the current iteration of the brand is, i doubt it'll happen
@hazey_dazey if your talking the DreamWorks trolls, they seem to be younger then tweets and also the wild robot movie seems better from what I have read compared to the trolls trilogy
I get people are excited for this, and that's fine, but I think it shouldn't be without saying that if this show turns out to butcher every character, have weird plot lines, have (already demonstrated) bad outfits, no one should be surprised. It's a simple formula, a show is popular, it's original audience has grown up and is reminiscing about it, the studio finds out, they want money, they reboot the show.
I think the problem with franchises like Winx, Monster high, etc other ones tryna to make a comeback, are that they’re trying to fit the age demographic they started with originally when they should be trying to get in with the age demographic their original costumers were. I think Bratz is doing an okay job at this with their new little websites and collaborations. But monster high and Winx are failing. They wanna give the new generation an experience with them when in all honesty I don’t think the new generation could give less of af.
I am not offended by the reboot because since season 4 the series was screwed by it's production, a reboot may be more necessary than we think. What keeps me with low espectations is the details in some changes they made, like the fashion, some designs, the 3d style they ended up choossing and how rough the animation looks, if you don't think is that rough just look at Bloom's facial expressions on the teaser trailer. I love most of the concept art and I expect it to be worth it but so far I don't know what to expect.
Can't believe I used to watch Winx 20 years ago. This makes me feel quite old, but damn, I loved the first seasons, those and my Bratz dolls made me into fashion so much that I used to make clothes for the dolls with fabric scraps and random objects all the time, and now I do that for myself. In terms of creativity and inspiration, cartoons nowadays feel so empty in comparison, sadly
I know you don’t know who Roxy is but I really think that’s the new direction they could’ve started with since she has never been to the college for fairies and since she is so different from bloom it would’ve been interesting to see her making friends and experience the whole new world in a different way
I didn't like Roxy, but that is a really great idea. It keeps us in the magic world but freshens it up with new characters! One of the things I hate about the new monster high reboot is how they changed everyone's personalities instead of just giving us new monsters to get to know.
I'm also a 4kids dub enjoyed 😂 One change I remember liking over the original dub is that her adopted parents actually told her she was adopted. I remember someone getting into it with me about it, but it was a nice change lol Also thank you for mentioning the loss of Tween Media. I don't think that's acknowledged much.
I love wink so much and I was personally a fan of winxclub from 2012, but winks did get ruined for me that’s why I was really excited when they were coming out with a reboot but… Honestly the reboot had so much potential like the animation is good but they didn’t take time to understand the fashion, its bad, the story line is flat and the voices don’t match, I really don’t like bloom’s voice, like no hate to the voice actor but it doesn’t the character, I wish they pay more attention to the fandom of versus what they think the fandom wants
Honestly I actually really liked the concept art a lot more, especially Tecna’s. I’m really disappointed with the more simple design, and absolutely HATE the new Magic Winx design. It completely destroys the point of the more simple yet iconic design of the original designs, and why is Stella’s new Solaria Ring so ugly?? I get it disappeared in the third season to never be seen again, but come on. One thing I’m kinda surprised no one has mentioned yet is Icy’s backstory introduced from Season 8, the previous season. That storyline was never actually resolved, so what was the point of trying to make Icy a sympathetic villain with a long lost sister if Rainbow just wasn’t going to do anything with it? As someone who grew up watching the 4Kids dub, the true ending of the series will always be Season 3 and the first movie. I really enjoyed Season 4, but that’s when I noticed a change in the show, and not in a good way unfortunately. Season 5 as well is when it became more apparent Winx Club was running out of steam and needed to finally end, as I could barely get through Season 6 and 7 with all the unnecessary changes they kept making, including the Winx themselves getting WEAKER with every new fairy form. I’m sorry but a group of freshman witches managed to kick their butts when they had the Dragon Flame at their command? How pathetic. Personally I am not holding my breath on this new season, and I’m really worried about what this new direction will take the series
I plan to watch Mermaid Magic at some point. I'd be more excited about a Winx show with new characters than a reboot. I'm glad you mentioned that there are few shows for pre-teens nowadays. I also think that 3D shows lose a lot of charm due to the cookie-cutter art style. But I still think that Monster High has the most unique art style out of the shows you mentioned.
7:51 one thing i feel like i need to point out about this section of the video is that these are prototype designs. the trailer is closest to what we are getting in terms of a main outfit. bloom will most likely NOT wearing the plaid leggings.
Me and my sisters used to watch the show when we were little but we started losing interest when it changed from The Winx Club to The Bloom Show. I know Bloom is the main character but you can have shows where they don’t hog all the attention to the point that the other characters just become walking talking cliches of themselves. It got to the point where almost every episode we were being told just how powerful and amazing Bloom was, to the point the villains were even saying to the other Winx they were nothing without Bloom. But yet she still got knocked unconscious during fights or kept fainting all over the place so could also be the damsel in distress in need of saving so no matter what she was always the centre of attention. She was a princess, had a tragic backstory that got turned around when she got to have her family and planet back while still having her adopted parents in her life and was lead singer in the band despite having the actual fairy of music in their group! Worst was the whole all fairies lost their powers but Bloom didn’t because she’s the keeper of that flame that is the whole source magic and oh wow isn’t she amazing she can share her powers and get her own transformation named after her!
You basically summarised the whole of season 6 🔥Bloomix🔥 beautiful character design but the powers are generic energy beams.... I’m getting Unicorn of War season 6 commentary flashbacks after reading that
Most of their problems can be solved by just returning to the old art style. Like it is what made Winx Club, Winx Club. Like not a lot of animations has the same exact style. Speaking of styles, bring back their old outfits please. Every Winx has their own aesthetic and I want to see them rock their own style instead of everyone wearing the same recolored outfit. Honestly, Winx should've ended at Season 4 - Season 5 is the start of them wearing recolored outfits which I'm not a big fan of. They could even continue the series with Enchantix being the final fairy form as it was said and I'd still be willing to watch it.
Roxy really should’ve remained a main character after season 4. They did so well with her in that season then completely dropped her and BARELY brought her back for the season about ANIMALS
I honestly don't understand why they keep rebooting this show, like it gets to a point. They're are so many interesting characters Within the winx club universe that could get a mini spinoff series about them. Like Roxy for example, she was an important player in season 4 and in the later seasons got pushed to the side. I would've loved to see her journey as a fairy at Alfea, and the other fairys as well. None of the background fairys earned their Enchantix nor their charmix and remained Magic WInx fairys for who knows how long now, it would be nice to see Roxy befriend them, make their own club and go on adventures together just like how the winx did.
I'm not against the reboot I think there has been too much damage to the Winx continuity and it needed a clean break. But a big reason why I'm not excited is the art style. It's not eye catching in the slightest and makes me think I should watch Miraculous Ladybug instead. Also the fashion is an improvement from season 8 but still it's too busy and screams 2010s
@ChenilleSagoe-x9h It's not necessarily a bad thing but I personally never liked the fashion of that Era. Also the outfits then had a childish energy about them which was fun but I think having Winx in that style brings back issues from when the writers took away the winx's maturity and never let them graduate from school. So the clothes makes me think that they are aiming for a young audience which is fine since it's a kids show. But since I'm an older fan, it's not interesting to me.
I love your take on this topic. I love Winx club and I would’ve loved it if they used the 2007 3d movie model of Winx club since they are doing 3d animation now. Honestly that model was relatively ahead of its time.
Also that fact that everyone keeps saying their looks are awful the whole reason the later seasons fell off was because they focused on their outfits and fashion and not on the storyline
I wish that they would either focus on a new cast of characters, or be willing to completely revamp the group. I feel like their outfits would've been so much better if they revisited what made them successful the first time, and based each girl off a pop/style icon of our time, so much potential considering the pop girl summer we just had!!
It's crazy the TMNT kinda shows that reboots can still work because will you can do different things with it's character and experiment since it's a different world, it still keeps its core aspects of what makes Tmnt what it is and represents. That's why many reboots don't interest me either. Like Wednesday for example. There are so many fun ideas and I liked the idea of exploring her character in a new setting but they miss represent her and the family Dynamics and makes it a bad reboots but if it was a standalone IP where the Addams family didn't exist and I would say it's a neat show. But that's just me
TBH winx truly should've ended after the first movie or season 4 since the ending was good in my opinion. You can say around the time the second movie is when the franchise went downhill. (World of winx wasn't bad. Kinda wish we got that as the 5th season instead)
Preach! Yes! I have been saying the same thing! It’s been rebooted so many times without a proper conclusion I and everybody I know that used to love winx don’t care about it anymore.
I just wished they’d understand that they still can hire fashion designers for most of the designs, like they used to 💀
right fashion is such a huge draw to the show we don’t want something that looks like plastic from shein
I know right that's why the OG Winx Club series became a hit and popular! Their designs and outfits were designed by an actual fashion designers in Italy.
would be cool
Or go the sailor moon/nana route and reference pre existing, high quality designs. I stg the team behind this reboot is already lazy and money hungry, they had to add tasteless to the mix?
Seriously, where are the fashion designers??😭
That simply help me 😅
THEY FUCKING DID THIS WITH MONSTER HIGH TOO....NOT ALL GIRLS LIKES PINK!
One of the best examples of storytelling through fashion in my mind.
enchantix was so great and then they completely fucked it up by having them get like 15 more transformations
@spntageous5249 yep! It was a unique metaphor and that's why it felt so powerful when the concept of advanced magic was introduced. The contrast with their basic form felt so exciting.
And then the whole thing was compromised and turned into a meaningless advertisement.
Everyone hyped over Believix and that became popular throughout Nickelodeon’s reigning
So true I love Enchantix including the cosplay costumes ✨💎💎
@spntageous5249
Mythix is basically prom dresses shrunken in the wash 🧼🤣
I don't like the fact that, recently, there are less new cartoons. A lot of them are just reboots of older cartoons that were good on their own...
Let's find out what else how many trailers Netflix will make !?
@Smart1529 the wild robot must be better then trolls
I don't even know if animators can animate anymore. Even if one came out, it would be computer puppets.
It's like I always say, "New Animation and Reboots are Amuck or an inspiration to all," and let's still give it time.
20 years*
Hi
@ bye
they did graduate in the movie but the show did a soft reboot in season 5 and they remained students again
Maybe some out of touch higher up was like "fairies? Those are for small children! Let's put it there!"
Si, abbastanza deprimente
So that's why their outfits became less revealing
The way this was uploaded the same day katseye dressed up as winx club (they ate their looks up)
right i gasped this universe working so weirdly omg
I just heard about them today and do you have any song recommendations for first time listeners?
righttt
@@izzyc127they debuted pretty recently so they only have around 5 songs and a remix so if anything I reccomend listening to their ep sis soft is strong the whole way through and see if you like any of their songs
@@izzyc127 their whole album is less than 12 mins just listen to it all lol youll def like multiple songs if not them all!
I just don´t understand how they find it so difficult to understand what the real fans of the show want from a reboot or a new take on the original when its so obivious to all the fans
Cause they’re so busy worrying about selling dolls and being appealing to 5 year olds than telling a fresh original story
That's what they are doing in this reboot?
They think animation is something only super young kids, the preschool and elementary ages, enjoy
i mean they keep putting the girls in pink, it looks like they're still just trying to attract a newer smaller audience.
@naehalmulazim hey what's wrong with pink?
I honestly need W.I.T.C.H to get a reboot (a good one). Winx Club is a classic but has been overused and needs to rest.
Me too but seeing how bad Winx was done, I say let's let that one end on a high note
I'd be down for that
I think winx just needs a proper ending. (Preferably a movie not an ending season) and just leave it at that. Cause at this point I think everybody is either tired or fed up.
W I T C H was good. I would watch a reboot of that.
And even if they did a reboot I wouldn’t it’s gonna look horrible they’ll put modern-day politics into it instead of actually being fun
@@amandakushner8665h
My problem with that is I tried reading the W.I.T.C.H comics and it went down fast, I couldn't finish them. Plus finding them online was hard. I really liked the whole concept though
@@amandakushner8665Definitely when it comes to girls centric shows it always has to be about politics or something of the sorts, boys shows are able to be fun and be carefree without worrying about politics. Look at the She-Ra reboot and the He-man reboot girls can’t have fun.
The way I SCREAMED when you compared Headmistress Faragonda to the creepy grandma!!!
"The series is 20 years old at this time " made me realize how hold I am.
I’m the same age as the franchise
I’m the same age as the franchise
I was literally ted talking to my walls when I realised the modern in the show was like 20 years ago. Like holy shit I'm old!
im just so tired as an og fan like pls just let it be at this point 😭 also why does the 2007 winx animated movie look better than the 2024 version ? lmaooo and the outfits are so uglyyy once again with the girls losing all their personality and individuality ONCE AGAIN and why tf is flora white AGAIN dont piss me off (also the 07 the secret of the lost kingdom is the only valid extra piece of winx media in my eyes)
I 100% agree with you. they should have at least take some inspiration from the 2007 movie
Who cares about white flora 🙄
@@hitchhikersguidetothegalaxyfanya
The 2007 mobie was NOT better
@christ5431 just tasteless u dont know real cinema i fear
Love that you talked about how great their iconic looks would be for Halloween, then Katseye dressed up as them! Hoping you do a video over celebrity Halloween costumes this year and talk about them!
Imagine if Disney rebooted Phineas and Ferb with the art style that Winx Club took for their reboot 😂
"happily' they are doing a continuation with the same style and creators as the original
@jovic_sawyer Well, good to know. Phineas and Ferb seemed like one of a few Disney IPs that they haven't messed up with and I hope they don't
I think Unicorn of War is annoying. Their obsessed with calling everyone gay.
They keep on continuing the same uninteresting timeline.
for all Bloom's whining about her birth parents, she sure doesn't spend any time at home.
@naehalmulazim
Exactly!
I can’t wait to see how they’re going to do things this time around!
and get rid of the romance
I'm so tired of these constant reboots. I wish they would do something new and use Winx Club as Inspiration, instead of a direct copy and paste. While the original show certainly wasn't perfect, it's iconic, and the live action series clearly showed that rebooting the show will never reach the original peak
Yeah it's sad that even when original shows weren't perfect, they're always miiiiiles better than what comes out now. We should be going forward. . .
2:15 omg i used to LOVE pop pixiez!! The art style was so cute and i liked that it was more slice of life instead of serialized
In other words water is wet.
What does being a guy matter? Most fashion was created by men , most designers are men. I know you probably meant no harm but such an outdated way of thinking.
@@DylanRomanov What did they say about men?
5:33 not the grandma 😭😂
The comparison had me SICK 😭
Why did I think from the thumbnail, the animation gave Polly Pocket/modern animated Barbie vibes?
Maybe it's deliberate, as they're possibly trying to cater towards the demographic who grew up with Barbie and Polly Pocket.
I think its sad how 2D really is such a lost art. Nothing of the 3D or live action ever came close to the first four seasons.
Its so sad how companies have just completely forgotten the tween demographic. I remember in the 2000s how much love was given to tweens back then.
1:32 entire plot lines??! I also watched it on 4KidsTV so I’m surprised to hear they changed so much of it
I know it's nitpicky but in the OG, Stella's color pallette actually worked with her skin tone, by making it warmer and more vibrant. Making her super pale in the cgi version AND dressing her in pastel yellow? She looks horrible
1:51 the irony of using Aisha's Nick voice actress for this 😂
This video is so funny. LOL. The amount of reads. From the Kiki Palmer meme to Stella looking like she shops at Temu is sooo funny. LOL 😂
(I mean the everyday clothes, but even the leads costumes wouldn't be to hard to make at home)
This leads me into how the Winx girls evolved.
I love this comment
OMG I agree I was a Teen a few months ago but I cannot find any animated teen shows that are up to date it’s a challenge finding shows that are not too kiddy and not too edgy. There’s children’s animation and Adult animation
Youth culture is dying as we know it
@ChenilleSagoe-x9h I feel like this is why so many of us turn to anime, simply because there's so many options.
@deathdual
Yes that is sooooo true a lot of young people turn to anime because it has POTENTIAL....
Never really got into Winx Club fully but I agree that the earlier stuff (and the movie for nostalgia reasons) were pretty decent compared to the new stuff.
she DOES look like the grandma from that one mobile game hahahahahaa
You know, I used to watch Winx Club (it's one of my silly guilty pleasures) quite a lot and I genuinely cannot remember what the hell is the plot of the whole series. And I didn't even know that they're planning a reboot, I haven't watched the series in years 😂😂😂
Overarching goals.
1 get new transformations.
2. Figure out what happened to blooms planet.
But mostly. It was just episodic. So every episode or 2 had their own goal
Watch commentary videos to catchup for example watching Unicorn of War’s content with dunk memes
I also have a soft spot for the Nick era, I played their games!💖
I hope They make a comeback the fans actually love thank you for making this video!!!!
Tessa! 4Kids was my favorite version, too!
no way this was posted a few hours after the GLOBAL GIRL GROUP KATSEYE JUST DRESSED UP AS WINX CLUB AND THEYKILTT IT OMG
Way better than fate 😂
@ let’s pretend that fate the winx saga didn’t happen
@@izzyc127 true I wonder why it even got a second season
Ya
0:50 HELP WHAT IS THAT💀😭😭😭
Maybe i'm a black sheep in this, but as a lifelong Winx Club fan I'm EXTREMELY excited for the reboot.
YESS THANK YOU. EVERY CARTOON AND ANIMATION LOOKS THE SAME NOW 😭😭😭😭 I swear if I see another big eyed, heart-shaped face -
Why is Flora's skin tone so light? She was tanned skinned. Not fair.
I’m actually optimistic about this reboot. But I can understand your concerns.
glad someone else feels this way lol im actually really excited for it!
Same I'm not mad at it, it's better than the live action that's for sure 😂
i think it looks cute tbh
yeah i’m honestly looking forward to it i think they’re considering fan’s criticism so let’s hope it all goes well
The 3d animation is definitely gorgeous and better than the ones in the sirenix episodes
that's me in the background at 3:31! i got to give the actress who played Bloom a hug :)
Wait I feel like it’s nice that they’re never going to phase out of relevancy🥹 like every generation will have their own?
I love most of the concept art and I expect it to be worth it but so far I don't know what to expect.
also, it's a bummer they scrapped the first transformations concepts, they looked nice except flora's
The wiplash of the s1 vs the s8 clips almost made me spit my water lol, they look like a cutscene from a cheap flash game?
Can't believe I used to watch Winx 20 years ago. This makes me feel quite old, but damn, I loved the first seasons, those and my Bratz dolls made me into fashion so much that I used to make clothes for the dolls with fabric scraps and random objects all the time, and now I do that for myself. In terms of creativity and inspiration, cartoons nowadays feel so empty in comparison, sadly
I think the trailer for this new reboot looks like one of those weird mobile game ads that has nothing to do with the actual game 😅😂
Winx Club of the 2000’s was my favorite thing ever
I know you don’t know who Roxy is but I really think that’s the new direction they could’ve started with since she has never been to the college for fairies and since she is so different from bloom it would’ve been interesting to see her making friends and experience the whole new world in a different way
I didn't like Roxy, but that is a really great idea. It keeps us in the magic world but freshens it up with new characters!
One of the things I hate about the new monster high reboot is how they changed everyone's personalities instead of just giving us new monsters to get to know.
There's so many underrated shows that should've come back with the X-men 97 treatment with better animation.
I miss old cartoon where many characters had distinctive looks. You can tell their personalities easily with it.
3:47 im sorry, are they using the eraser tool to make it look like they're drawing the character?? 💀
All I want is a winx show that keeps the fashion and a show that is for the audience that used to watch it back in the day
Have a mature theme, have the girls be a bit more mature, let them explore the world after graduating alfea idk
I'm also a 4kids dub enjoyed 😂 One change I remember liking over the original dub is that her adopted parents actually told her she was adopted. I remember someone getting into it with me about it, but it was a nice change lol
Also thank you for mentioning the loss of Tween Media.
4:37 😂😭 I’m literally can’t stop laughing
I plan to watch Mermaid Magic at some point. I'd be more excited about a Winx show with new characters than a reboot. I'm glad you mentioned that there are few shows for pre-teens nowadays. I also think that 3D shows lose a lot of charm due to the cookie-cutter art style. But I still think that Monster High has the most unique art style out of the shows you mentioned.
7:51 one thing i feel like i need to point out about this section of the video is that these are prototype designs. the trailer is closest to what we are getting in terms of a main outfit. bloom will most likely NOT wearing the plaid leggings.
i'm actually quite excited for it. aesthetically, it looks quite lacking but it is also just a show i like to have in the bg while i do things
Right, and you can tell by some of the shots of the recent trailer that the animation quality is better than the average kids tv cartoon
You called it with the Halloween costume idea, KATSEYE just did it and they put the live action to absolute shame
🤭🤭🤭
Such a Mary Sue 🙄
You basically summarised the whole of season 6
🔥Bloomix🔥 beautiful character design but the powers are generic energy beams....
Winx has 3 seasons and one movie. THAT'S IT.
Is it a bad thing that the fashion is reminiscent of 2010s and Disney Channel
@ChenilleSagoe-x9h It's not necessarily a bad thing but I personally never liked the fashion of that Era. Also the outfits then had a childish energy about them which was fun but I think having Winx in that style brings back issues from when the writers took away the winx's maturity and never let them graduate from school. So the clothes makes me think that they are aiming for a young audience which is fine since it's a kids show. But since I'm an older fan, it's not interesting to me.
i cant stand anything that happened to winx after season 4 but i think this reboot looks very good and i'm looking forward to it
I love your take on this topic. I love Winx club and I would’ve loved it if they used the 2007 3d movie model of Winx club since they are doing 3d animation now. Honestly that model was relatively ahead of its time.
Right, the 2000s winx was cute and at its peak. All these new alternatives are just dragging the series for loss of purpose
Shhhhh let them give us content darnit!
The first transformation is Magix, Charmix being it's upgrade (purses and broches). Nickelodeon changed that later
stella looks like an ice skater with that dress
Rainbow "we dont care. Winx club makes money"
Yo everything is getting rebooted these days 🙄
O
There was a reboot tv specials
At this point, the only thing saving this reboot is the Trix 💀💀💀
I'm cautiously optimistic. I am glad Aisha/Layla gets to be part of the season 1 crew, though
Fr like just let it rest, it already has a spot in the hall of fame for early 2000s cartoons.
I have a video suggestion for you!
Explaining each characters stories in the Kingdom Hearts prequel.
Shit, even the 3D reboot’s getting its own lashings. 😂
Better than 8
