I broke off an engagement with a man who would not annul his marriage because I did not want to be barred from receiving the holy Eucharist. I felt that this man did not love me because if he did love me, he wouldn't try to lead me into a union of sin. The Eucharist is the body and blood of our lord Jesus Christ in the real presence. It's very important to me. I did enough sinning in my life and that was one sin I stood up and said NO to Satan. I never regretted it and I wasn't changing my mind.
That's wonderful to hear, Nina. I'd love to know what Fr. Casey said that convinced you. Also, now that you are convinced, the right thing to do is what Jesus commanded us to do: to receive Him in the Eucharist. For that, I encourage you to call and speak with your local Catholic priest.
There were many points but the ones that really stood out to me were about the early saints, particularly St Ignatius who learned it directly from the apostle John. But also Fr Casey’s quotes from St Paul.
@@ninagreen9963 I encourage you to read the Church Fathers, to read what they said about the Eucharist. This is what the Church believed from the beginning, and many early Christians were martyred for these beliefs. An excellent book that summarizes this is "The Fathers Know Best" by Jimmy Akin. A few citations: ST. JUSTIN MARTYR: "We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing that is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [i.e., has received baptism] and is thereby living as Christ enjoined. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food that has been made into the Eucharist by the eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus" [First Apology 66 (c. A.D. 151)]. TERTULLIAN OF CARTHAGE: "There is not a soul that can at all procure salvation, except it believe while it is in the flesh, so true is it that the flesh is the very condition on which salvation hinges. And since the soul is, in consequence of its salvation, chosen to the service of God, it is the flesh that actually renders it capable of such service. The flesh, indeed, is washed [in baptism], that the soul may be cleansed. . . . The flesh is shadowed with the imposition of hands [in confirmation], that the soul may be illuminated by the Spirit; the flesh feeds [in the Eucharist] on the body and blood of Christ, that the soul may fatten on its God" [Resurrection of the Flesh 8 (c. A.D. 210)]. ST. CYRIL OF JERUSALEM: "As the bread and wine of the Eucharist before the invocation of the Trinity, which is holy and worthy of adoration, were simple bread and wine, after the invocation the bread becomes the body of Christ, and the wine the blood of Christ" [Catechetical Lectures 19:7 (c. A.D. 350)]. But be careful! Reading the Church Fathers has a way of bringing Protestants into the Catholic Church. “To be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant” (19th c. Anglican clergyman who became Catholic).

Jesus is the real deal guys. This is true, literally. Jesus is the most amazing, magnificent and astonishing gift from God the Father. Everything about Jesus is healing, literally, body, mind and soul. A true sacrifice indeed. I am truly looking for a church that is right for me. I am attending the mass in my TV right now. Lucky are those who can go to church anytime they want. I don’t like the contaminated, triangle shaped eucharist, and very small too, and they put it on your hand. Some priests must be lazy to give the eucharist direct to the people. Therefore, I am in hunt to find a church that is for me. The Eucharist must be given by the priest and not the layman. @@FatherJMarcelPortelli Yes, I know of this excellent book. Again, my humble request is to preach THAT from the pulpits rather than quoting infamous heretics and hearing Priests downplay Dogma, as if it's not important. Reminds me of Jesus' rebuke to the Pharisees..."you travel continents to find one convert and by the time your done teaching them, their twice the devils than you are."
St. John 10 : 11 - 16 is read on Good Shepherd Sunday in the traditional Church. How many Shepherds are there and how many flocks? Jesus states one. Since He cannot lie, then Christian must refer to the flock He Shepherds. Which flock is this? lutheran, presbyterian, baptist, anglican, or some other flock? Are the members of the other flocks that are not the one Jesus Shepherd all heretics? Who is scandalized by this Truth?
Scattering the flock is of Satan. As Jesus prayed in John 17:21: “that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” Unfortunately, today there are over 42,000 different "Christian" denominations (and growing) according to the International Bulletin of Missionary Research.
I think St. Thomas Aquinas got it wrong by saying, animals are without souls and won't rise to heaven. But God said, that after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, where there were no predators, that the time will come when all is restored. Sure wish you would address this. It's hard for me to believe that satan delivered sick and injured cats to my door for healing and new homes.
Animals do not have souls like us . We have eternal souls who will be judged and the righteous will be with God. We were also given freedom of choice to follow God or Satan. An animal does not know about Truth, Morals, Evil etc. An animal has instincts for survival . An animal does not know about God and therefore has no relationship with Him. All of this does not mean that we should not treat them well. The6 are God’s creatures and we should love them and treat them well.

He did not sacrifice Himself for animals but for humanity .From all the creatures in this world, ONLY humans have been in a relationship with God and ONLY we can be saved or not. Therefore, obviously I am not writing my own chapter and never would. Obviously Satan did not deliver sick and injured cats to your door for healing. Animals who suffer have to be helped to be healed again. They are also creatures of God who created them for a purpose.
@@ilonkastille2993 Amazed that you have not listened to the love for the creatures God/Christ has spoken of in the bible.. There are so many examples of this from the Old and New Testament. Wasn't it said that all will be renewed and the lion will lay with the lamb. The Doctors of the church philosophize; taking matters full circle without listening nor understanding the simplicity of Christ's words. He so loved the birds and animals of the forest, I don't believe that He would disguard them and neither would a woodworker his ruler. It was once said to me, when you die then live in ecstasy with Christ, you'll not care about the animals or your pets. In otherwords, just loving God for this ecstacy excludes His creations that He so loved? Something is amiss. Why do animals need souls? We humans are the ones being judged.
@@sherrynsnyder1583 I understand your love of animals and that is certainly to be admired but the New Heaven and the New Earth have not happened yet and when it does ,an animal will still not be equal to a human being . Animals are not able to perform moral acts. They operate according to instinct and appetite, not reason and free will. Being incapable of moral acts means animals CANNOT sin, which means they do not need a Saviour. There should be a caution to any of us who try to place boundaries or conditions on Heaven. When we are before the REAL thing we won't even want them. To suggest that animals deserve a reward for all the love and companionship they give us ascribes to them rational souls and the capacity for charity. It suggests that through the grace of Jesus Christ, they merit salvation, according to their good works.
