    This should 100 million percent count as "false advertisement" and be grounds for a lawsuit. Wasn't there a recent ruling involving Marvel where a judge ruled if something in the trailer is not in the film, that counts as false advertisements. Feels awfully similar. "I bought this product because you said this is what it makes." Since money is the only thing these corporate fuckwits understand, I really hope a lawsuit starts popping for all of these companies.

    As often as I hear about their markers, Arrtx absolutely could have pulled off some sort of promo deal or contest like sending sample boxes to artists and then posting the creations. It's pretty normal to edit art into ads or onto packaging, but usually that's still going to be something that was actually drawn using those supplies (unless it's some cheapo discount brand lol). Someone in marketing goofed big time here.

    Those frickin good Arrtx markers are just regular cheap chinese acrylic markers. ArtJourney made multiple videos on this. She compared them to 3 other cheap chinese brands and it turned out they are all the same. But Arrtx charges much more for them. They are literally scamming people and yet artists still promote them in their videos. No one cares because everyone wants to get free art supplies, right? Ur viewers are being scammed? Who cares? Usually how these types of promotional images are made is a graphic designer uses Photoshop to put the artwork on a page of a blank mock-up (either a photo of the product, or if the company doesn't wanna hire a photographer, a close-enough product that they can slap their packaging on in the same way as the artwork). The graphic designer or a hiring manager at the company probably would source the artwork by hiring a freelance artist to make them a variety of images they can chose from. Or getting them from some sort of free image database or one where they can pay for the rights to use it commercially, like Unsplash or w/e. There's a lot of AI art just...floating around out there now on those types of sites, as well as a lot of freelance 'artists' who just churn out AI 'art' without disclosing how they're doing it. So yeah. This type of thing is going to happen a lot now. Just because a company makes art products doesn't mean everyone working there is an artist or knows anything about art. They could be sourcing AI art intentionally, but they just as easily could have done it by accident. I kinda doubt they would bother to generate the images themselves.
    It's also unsurprising that these are edited, rather than photos of sketchbooks with real art in them. As far as I know, Artxx has pretty cheap markers and so it doesn't shock me that they cut costs by using mockups instead of real photos, because that's just the standard for cheap products popular on Amazon. Consumers should just assume everything is fake, not just in the art world but in advertising in general.

    I don't comment on here often but I am so glad someone called this out. Was checking out their website, saw this, googled to see if anyone had said anything about it, and the only result I got was one tiktok. I was considering getting a pack of their markers for myself but there were a lot of negative reviews on amazon saying their markers were either dried out or leaking, and recently I saw that the leaking thing happened to Static Wool too while they were reviewing markers that arrtx had sent to them, which basically fully got me to nope out of buying those. The sad thing is there really aren't a lot of alternatives when it comes to acrylic brush markers, it's either poscas very expensive brush markers which work a little differently and don't really come in a lot of colors, or these pretty low-quality markers that probably aren't made under the best working conditions. The one thing I'm hopeful for right now are the sharpie creative markers, they're made in the US and from the reviews I've seen they seem to be of pretty decent quality, although their opacity isn't the best. Most of the reviews aren't from traditional artists though, mostly from people who do journaling or more craft-sy stuff, so it's a little hard to know how they would work in drawings. They only have 12 colors in the moment though, but maybe if they started to gain traction in the art community they could expand their range of colors. This comment sounds like I'm sponsored lmao but I would just love to see more artists trying them out and if they're actually good, promoting them as an alternative to these other markers

    • @tinyshinyfeathers
      @tinyshinyfeathers 2 месяца назад +1

      I remember seeing the sharpie creative markers in a local store, but I decided not to get them because it didn't seem like they'd be as versatile as traditional acrylic paint. If only there were more colors, they might make some nice cel shaded pieces, and maybe some interesting blended textures could be achieved by dual-wielding the markers and a damp brush…

    As time goes on, I am increasingly noticing the divide between groups of people in society not listening to each other and further entrenching of inequalities-when they give you TOS and then blame you for not reading all of it when people already have so much going on in their lives, they can barely keep up with all of it without having to deal with the legality or ethics of something...because if something was ethical, you wouldn't have to worry about it. People shouldn't have to worry about the ethical implications of the actions of others simply because they have to fend for themselves because it's too hard for others to be good people.
    When people say that artists are just whining, are they taking for granted the idea that they might come out of this with some kind of benefits for whatever reasons they can come up with when they, themselves, are no better than those who wrong them? Perhaps they take for granted a lot of other things as well, which is why I believe people should carefully pick their fights regardless of what others have to say about it... I should say *_especially_* if what others say doesn't hold up.
    Arguments telling people to "deal with it" like:
    "This is the internet"
    "You can't pursue people in court"
    "This technology is here to stay"
    If people have time to talk about what they don't care about, then what does matter to you? If you focus on that instead, you don't have to look for external confirmation like others do because you are looking to learn from it, and that says a lot about "A.I."' culture/propaganda which is very much focused on consumerism, not self-fulfillment or self-betterment.

      All these people think they are artists or writers, because they finally added something to their skill list that was creative without the effort.
      It's not there for good monetary gain, only short term, like NFTs. After people get used to it(which is approaching), they dip on it because it's low risk, no reward, lol.
