Thank you for the information and expertise, I appreciate your teaching style and clarity of communication - I am only in my second year of fishing (I am not young but I am just getting into fishing) - I have found that I enjoy deep crank bait fishing - I have a few of the SK 3-XD and 5-XD and a few OSP Blitz - I have hesitated to get baits that were as big as the 6-XD as I thought they might be too big a profile, yet I may give them a try - Yes, it hurts to lose a bait, I caught a good sized Northern Pike on one of the OSP baits, and the pike must have nicked the fishing line with it's teeth, as on the next cast the OSP bait kept flying thru the air, going, going, gone ! Ugh, I spent quite a while looking for that bait, to no avail

In a recent podcast where it feathers 4 (big names) professional bass anglers, they briefly mentioned about how deep crankbaits are fading out - like you don't hear tournaments being won anymore with deep diving crankbaits. With technology like FFS nowadays, it seems like finesse techs are the way to go.

You’re probably correct. Deep Diving crank baits are a lot of work. Big rods, hard cranking, but the bites are so great. I don’t tournament fish any longer. I am glad I am the only one deep cranking now. The bass need a break. The finesse FFS fishing is easy and cheap after you acquire the electronics.

Hey Jonny, have you used the Duo Realis crankbait g87 20A? Looks a lot like the spro crankbait but a little cheaper, I think I may give it a try.

I am NOT sponsored and I do care when I lose one. Some of us still work hard for a living and losing $8-$12 crankbaits hurts. I just cannot afford to fish them anymore 😫

I'm not sponsored either and pay for all of my crankbaits. If you get a good lure retriever, you can get them back 80% of the time.

@@BassFishingDeclassifiedwhich lure retriever have upu had the most luck with. Im with @bobbyhogan9207 if I am fishing where i need to be losing them gets expensive. Ive started throwing bomber fat free shad versions, the 7 size goes to 16ft, not as deep as an strike king xd but covers most of what i am doing and they only cost $4ea.

Somehow my comment was deleted, bomber fat free shad make something similar to the strike king for only $4ea. Hey @BassFishingDeclassified Jonny, do you throw the SK 6xd if the brushpiles, rock are shallower say 10ft ?

yes I catch a lot of fish in a 6XD in rock and brush with a 6XD in 8-12ft of water. I will use 17lb monofilament line to make the bait run shallower in those situations.
