Venice, Italy, also known as the “The Floating City” or “City of Canals” is one of Italy's most picturesque cities and a very popular destination for travel. With its winding canals and beautiful bridges, its striking architecture, secret gardens and incredibly romantic places, Venice has a lot to offer beyond all the tourist attractions known all over the world. Founded in the 5th century and spread over 118 small islands, the famous Italian City of Venice is one of the most visited cities in Italy. Venice is a city in northeastern Italy, built on a group of small islands, separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. It is a major Italian port to the Adriatic Sea and the capital of both the Provincia di Venezia and the Regione di Veneto. Venice is unique environmentally, architecturally, and historically and therefore, the lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was styled la Serenissima (“the most serene”) in the medieval Europe, when it was the greatest seaport and the commercial and cultural link to Asia. One of the world’s oldest tourist and cultural centres, Venice is renowned not only for its beauty but also for its Venetian glass produced in the Island of Murano and the lace produced in the Island of Burano.
Ca' Foscari is a Venetian Gothic palace on the waterfront of the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, built for the doge Francesco Foscari in 1453. Since 1868, the palace of Ca' Foscari is the main seat of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, from which it also takes its name.
Grand Canal (Canal Grande) is the main waterway of Venice, following a natural channel that traces a reverse-S course from San Marco Basilica to Santa Chiara Church and divides the city into two parts. Grand Canal has an average depth of 5 metres, it is more than 3 km long and between 30 and 70 metres wide.

O seu dogate foi o mais longo da história de Veneza (mais de 34 anos, de 15 de abril de 1423 a 22 de outubro de 1457), caracterizou-se pela maior expansão territorial da história de Marciana, reunindo sob uma única legislação todo o Veneto, Friuli e uma grande parte da Lombardia.

Volevo aggiungere qualcosa. In pratica mi dispiace da morire del degrado delle case piu povere che risentono maggiormente della presenza costante dell'acqua se non vengono restaurate costantemente. Non deve essere facile vivere a Venezia. Hai notato che non c'è l 'ombra di una macchina, chissà come faranno gli abitanti in caso di necessità. Pensierino della notte Daniela 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Non ci sono automobili perché in città le automobili non possono circolare. Le auto fermano tutte nella zona di Piazzale Roma, che si trova poco dopo aver attraversato il ponte da Venezia Mestre. Ma tutti i servizi funzionano sull’acqua. Polizia, Carabinieri, ambulanze. Ho visto come i morti vengono trasportati dalla chiesa al cimitero, che si trova su un'isola vicina. Tutto in barca.
