Free Radical's battlefront III had everything. Clearly you haven't even gotten into the star wars games if you only listed TOR which was a lackluster mmo.
I like the jedi series with cal. Took me a week to beat as I only did bits at a time and am bout to start the 2nd one. Kotor was good but I like original 1 n 2 better and revenge of the sith was good aswell
One of the best squad shooters ever made. Still amazing to play, active population, they removed the dumb micro transactions ages ago
They removed the microtranslation after Disney forced them to, and only because the backlash was spilling over to Disney and the then upcoming TLJ.

I put so many hours into this game. Its to bad they cut all support for it for a game that i barely heard about after it released. Maybe we'll get a battlefront3 some day

The mod scene has been keeping this game alive above anything else. People have been putting so much work to the point where you can practically make a battlefront 3 with all the best mods the community has made.

As a SWTOR fan Battlefront II certainly had my attention but I wanted to wait until the reviews came in before buying. Once the loot box uproar began I moved on. I looked at it again recently but heard, while playing SWOTR, that it lost all support from EA and Dice and that people were using mods that basically made them invincible etc. Thank you for the review.
You’re not wrong, but it’s still a blast to play 😊 Every time I log on to play though, I half expect the servers to have been taken down.
Still awesome to play but yeah the cheaters do make it hard to enjoy. I still play it in because I enjoy it and hope one day another will come out
Don't have a problem with cheaters in Xbox though. And the mods make the game fun if you can get in a private match for Milsims
Battlefront 2 is the game I played the most on Ps4. Removal of microtransanction was good. When supremacy came around the fun of this game went through the roof such a good game. And such a shame that there won't be a battlefront 3 and no more supported some hero was confirmed to come but EA give up on the game. That a lot still play to this day
As someone who was there at launch, it was as dry as the sahara for well over a year, tho once the conquest like mode dropped they did start to turn it around

Pulled support to focus on 2042....what a bad decision. I loved it in the beginning , I had a good circle of friends playing it at the time. As i said, i enjoyed the grind as it gives you a reason to keep playing. Once that had gone, the game went stale
The thing that really sucks is that 2042 has finally become a solid game and they'll probably pull support from it soon as well. Just can't have a good game can we?

It’s an amazing game, takes absolutely ages to find a session though on certain game modes 😢 the game is slowly dying but we’ll do our duty and keep on fighting 💪🏻
Glad the Devs at least added an offline single player mode. This way we can still enjoy the game years from now 🤷♂️

@@Trev_SwenCo-Op is actually the best mode in Battlefront II, - you can find session fast and easily, since it requires only four players, and it's hella fun. Pick any class/hero and go crazy fighting bots, while leveling up in the process. I'll never get tired of Co-Op in this game.
i too was in beta for star wars bf1 and 2 and its a visually stunning game and I did have fun for what was available. I didn't end up purchasing either of them until they got rather low in price. Despite the modern aspects and nostalgia of old battlefront 2 I found myself getting board with it pretty quickly and even the last couple months I tried to play it but finding matches with full lobbies is rare for large battles depending on time of day and what day you decide to play it on. I also tried playing Knights of the old republic for the first time a couple years ago and there is yet a starwars game to immerse me as much as that game did even though its very old. Have not tried any other modern star wars games because imo on the surface theyre too shallow/linear and narrow.

I can't believe this game is still active. I bought it with jedi fallen order and battlefront 1 for 30 dollars. This is amazing. Got celebration edition. Didn't know how bad it was. But what do i expect from ea games.
Dude I bought the game 6 days ago for the PS5 and it’s surprisingly active! Very happy about that be sure I much prefer space/sci-fi FPS games than military ones like COD
Seems like some game modes are hard to populate but playing coop with my friends is really fun

Great video, I’ve recently rediscovered this on the Xbox game pass and was so pleased to find the servers full up of players again!
They tried to monetize it worst way and then gave up. No skins, or cosmetic like every other game. Oh well. Not consumer fault.
I'll say this now, it's better on console. The way that the game flows is far more enjoyable as people aren't as cracked out of their minds and there's virtually no cheaters.
The only downside is there is no mods on console

EA was obviously butt hurt that they didnt get their way with the gambling fiasco. And they took it out on the players by canceling part 4. They rolled everything over into battlefield 2042
Don’t know what happened to this game went on today for the first time in a while and died in two hits in Heroes vs villains one grenade from Han was dropping me
They really went bare minimum on the starfighter mode and I’ll never forgive them for that. Why they didn’t just copy and paste starfighter mode from the original BF2 is beyond mind boggling.
BF2 came at a time where EA hate was teetering at it's peak and the gaming community was collectively getting fed up with micro transactions at large.
It's too bad the straw that broke the Camel's back turned out to be a quality gem of a game that still looks and plays well to this day even on things like the steam deck. You can tell it was made with the utmost care and attention to detail by the very best in the business at the time.
The menus and UI we got are great in itself, I mean it's quick and clean
It's just really boring lol
The most character we got is through the little animations on the main menu icons, aswell as the funky sounds
Weirdly enough the thing I'm most excited to see of the next system are the menus, all I want is a little more character
W video keep it up i think they won't make battlefront 3 but it's nice to play battlefront 2 every once and a while it makes you think about the good times on it
And with an incredible stroke of luck EA is kind enough to make sure another generation of people get to experience the pain of not seeing a battlefront 3. Love it 😂
This game should be more like Battlefiel, with more vehicles you can actually enter and exit at will, not just when you spawn or die.
It’s crazy how many people still play this game. I was a loyal player, even with it’s rocky launch.
If I had a nickel for every time I've heard in the last month that "BF2 is actually the best Star Wars game!" and "It's such a shame that support was canned!" I could pay my month's rent. Where were all these people when the game was actually dying? Nobody is playing this game. The community left it to die and is now crying because it died. The revisionism around this game is ridiculous.

The most criminal part of these new Battlefronts was no Galactic Conquest. I wouldve paid for the game plus and extra $20/30/40 in dlc just to play it. How do they not include the funnest part of the orginal 2 games.
Bet these guys, who complained about having to play 40 hours, to unlock darth vader, have now 2000 hours and more on their account.

I started playing BF2 before i was a father, a few months later my son was born and today we play together.
I have only 2 passions when it comes to games, BF2 and Destiny2, and that's where i spend most of my online gaming time.
I still play GA a few times a month, finally maxed out my sniper class
I love hero vs villain to this day so much fun to hop on and pretend to be a force user lmaooo

Im just interested in SP side of the game, bought it on PlayStation store for few euros, played it last night on PS5 and it looks really good.
It’s a great single player and AI arcade shooter, and really good for split screen

BF2 was a great game, tons of hours of fun playing it. Hopefully some day, we'll get a BF3. I'll be there (assuming no micro transaction shenanigans).
Recently picked this game up on my Steam deck (Xbox cloud gaming) and had a blast with the campaign and now with solo battles against AI.
I hope that there will be another attempt with Star Wars Galaxies the mmorpg. That was one of the best and most fun games I ever played until it got....well bad...But imagine it with Bf2 graphics and combat...

I still play this game, even though it’s kind of pointless now, for reasons mentioned in the vid. It’s still loads of fun and there’s a weapon or two I’m still working on unlocking. And the whole pay to win debacle never made sense to me, since there were so many other games that were doing the same, and worse. If someone was a sucky player, they basically payed to continue to suck. It was never going to buff everyone, regardless of ability, who payed.
A game is never pointless if its fun. That’s the point of gaming.

I will say only this: The Starfighter Assault game mode in BFII is more fun than the whole Starwars Squadrons game.
We still get a kick out of Arcade mode. Specifically, Team Versus. Console version because it has Split Screen.
To my knowledge, it's the closest thing to something like Overwatch (Hero Shooter), that you can play offline Local Multiplayer, versus, with bots.

I've been playing the 1.0 version offline since I got it on disc, I have not updated since, and I would really love to play online for the first time.

If I recall correctly, then the real reason for EA ending all in game transactions and revamping the loot boxes wasn't so much because of the massive backlash they received from the community, but much rather due to European laws on illegal online gambling, specifically protections for minors from online gambling.
My wife and I both really enjoyed BFII; too bad they aren't doing a BFIII

Does Battlefront 2 Celebration support a game controller (gamepad)?
Beautiful game, but it has an annoying and cluttered ui, is a huge downgrade from the original bf2 and a slight downgrade from the battlefront reboot, heroes are brokenly overpowered and there are often too many of them for troops to deal with, and finally, the last problem is the same for most shooters- players prefer to mindlessly sprint across the map and rely on quick reflexes rather than playing strategically, which plunges the entire lobby into absolute chaos.
In short, the game could've been okay with a few tweaks, but is instead just another mediocre shooter.

One thing that pisses me the fvck off is the fact that you cant chose what map you will play. Some maps are really annoying imo and i dont want to play them, but i have to.
Thats a major usability mistake, players need the freedom to choose. I literally stopped playing because of this.

For me it dosent work anymore on epic games! My account had years worth of progress and now it’s all gone cause it either has a permanent lag or you can’t move your mouse when opening it.

Honestly, what I find annoying is that I a ps4 player, am still grinding for the characer skins, emotes, and all the customization on top of trying to get the platinum trophy from ps on the game, so getting skins is actually really awarding for me if they are epic or legendary rarity because it takes so long for me to get enough credits to get them.
This could’ve had the opportunity to become the GTA 5 of Star Wars games, updates and new content every year to keep us going. Sad that it ended the way it did

I was just playing this today. I found a game instantly. Had a blast. I'm still not a fan of the long booting up, though. If you wanted to know, I was playing on xbox north American server
This game is not ptw at all... it was cosmetics and chars/vehicles
does it matters where you're playing Battlefront 2 from? (I'm from Origin/EA Play). People use to say that there are still some full house maps but everytime I try the game, I barely find some people playing those 4-player missions and never more than 5 players waiting in supremacy mode or the others. So i'm very confused 🤔
When I played briefly there was no way to squad up with your friends which is beyond stupid for a FPS

I really don't mind pay to win as long as you can GRIND the same content with time the real deal is then who would be the better player in the end, and the grinder is the winner as they did develop a certain amount of skill in the grind, it happens.

Nah DICE completely deserved the hate for the pay to win hero crates. All heroes should be available with no grind. That's the whole reason I buy star wars games. Maybe if they made a battle pass for all the cosmetics they would still be supporting BF2

I play on PS with no trouble finding games Ive heard good things on the PC side from cosmetic to gameplay mods making things feel alot fresher id give it a try if i could

the whole loot box fiasco couldve been avoided by going down the ol 2010 tf2 route of making specific items available for purchase at a price dependant on their rarity in loot boxes. Sure you spend more but you know exactly what your getting

The best is still kotor then the unleashed series, the two newest ones, Jedi knight Jedi academy, Jedi outcast, the original battlefront games. Point is the new battlefront 2 is not even in the top 10
