Ignite transfers the threat to him, assuming he was the first person who crit the mob. They also allow him to get a head start on casting so that he has an early lead.
@@lovesandwich8783 Yes. The player responsible for the first ignite stack is the only thing the game tracks. Future ignites only refresh the original. Once an ignite falls off, then the process repeats on the next ignite. They have enough mages so that they can likely keep the ignite up indefinitely. If the mage who started the ignite dies and the ignite continues to be refreshed, that extra threat goes to the dead mage, which means that threat is then dropped completely.

This was great, but... i loved BFA zandalar music, but come on, ZG music was a classic and we don't have it in retail anymore, should have let the OG on
Most of us went in with ony buff, we lost it over the course of the run, then on hakkar we rebuffed to down him. Afterwards we did Mandokir and Jin'do. Exehn put the bosses out of order so that the Hakkar climax is at the end.

Mage Tank: -Ice Barrier -Ice Armor (Armor and -20% attack speed) -Mana Shield -With Ignite does not have to cast to keep aggro, which unlocks ~10% dodge. -Ice Block -Blink Warlock Tank: -Demon Armor -Master Demologist (-10% physical damage) -Soul Link (-30% damage) -+15% Stamina -Voidwalker Sacrifice From a pure mitigation perspective, the 10% dodge cancels out the -10% physical damage and the Ice Armor roughly cancels out the Demon Armor plus Soul Link. The Warlock can sacrifice a maximum of three Voidwalkers (sac one, summon another, pull, insta summon a third) for a total of 7500 absorption. This is more than the Mage can muster with Ice Barrier and Mana Shield. On top of that, the Warlock has +15% Stamina. However, the Mage can make the mob run around with Blink, which can also be translated into damage prevented. On mitigation: The advantage goes to Warlocks. But the Warlock can't do anything other than die once the shields are depleted, while the Mage can Blink away or go into Ice Block to save himself. LIPs are not an option, because the CD is blocked by Stoneshield Potions. Yes, Warlocks have Soulstones, but it's not a great life, having to rezz with Soulstone everytime something goes wrong. Ice Block can also be used to ping-pong the boss, which will occupy the boss for a much longer time than the extra health of the Warlock tank. However, this can only be used in situations where you can abuse the Ignite mechanic. On oh-shit buttons: The advantage goes to Mages. The Warlock tank can keep aggro with Searing Pain. This gives the Warlock especially an advantage on trash or on ninja pulls, where the Mages can't get aggro reliably. On bosses, spamming Searing Pain in full mitigation gear while the boss is clobbering you might not reliably hold threat against DD Warlocks, even with the aggro multiplier. Ignite, once set up, reliably keeps the boss glued to the Mage tank, but since it cannot be set up reliably on a specific Mage, you need to run multiple Mage tanks instead of only one Warlock tank. On threat: A tie.
we were classified as "frost" because we skilled deep into frost just to get iceblock. we didn't skill any +frostdmg talents and used fireballs and ignite :D all this dmg from "frost" mages is actually just rolling ignite

warriors can do anything
Found the bald one
Most likely with flasks yes, they'll still out dps them
how is the mage keeping aggro on an ice block?
If you mean Thekal, we were surprised as well. It seems like a boss specific thing, where he locks in the aggro list from phase 1 in phase 2.
He has fire/frost build, where he starts the ignite.
AQ40 next week? Lmao these are great
The got a tank mage, let's go for it!.
AQ20 probably around Christmas :)
Why not put the name of everyone who participated in the description ? xD
You can see the raid frames lol
I am just wondering, how was the mage tank holding aggro since he had less damage ?
Rolling ignites, he just needs to crit first
