Thank you for the free pattern ! NOT clickbait like other channels 😂! You are a great teacher. Garment is nicely finished. Hard to find that binding since, it’s getting harder and harder to find a sewing store in New York City. Might have to make my own bias tape, arg!😠 😩 Greetings from New York City! 👍🏼🇵🇷🗽❤️
I’d like a side seam pocket (maybe out of tricot so there’s no bulk). No need to use bias binding just a hem with narrow elastic but not too gathered if you get my drift . Can also use elastic cording with bungee cords on the sides. Can you tell I really hate binding? 🤪
I just finished making it! Thank you so much for the tutorial, I'd never sewn a zipper with a guard before and yet I feel like it looks perfect thanks to your explanation. Hopefully my boyfriend likes it as much as your boyfriend liked his
I must admit I had to google Saskatchewan but now that I know, these jumpers would definitely come in handy!!! I would love to see when you've made them!
Im very confused with the collar instructions 😭😭😭 I have all the materials but would love to get a little more feedback about the collar before I make it.
The collar is tricky! It's 2 layers so both pieces are the same size but 1 is finished to the outside (so the outer collar) and 1 is finished to the inside (the inner collar, which you can think of as a lining). The outer collar is attached to the neckline of the bodice pieces, forming the collar shape that comes up the neck. The inner collar is attached to the outer collar at the very top of the jumper and then sits on the inside, just like a lining. Hope that helps!
@@miriamfranco9400 Haha, it just so happened that I checked my phone right after you commented! Glad that helped a bit. Feel free to comment again if you get stuck :)
Ur looking so cute in ur Patagonia made fleece jacket 😍 I love it!!! But I'm more of a full zip guy, the only reason y is bcuz I feel a little trapped in half zip rather than a full zip bcuz u can quickly take it off and it fits/hangs nicely over the chair
Thanks! Haha, I can understand the full zip benefits! Maybe I'll have a go at sewing a full zip next 👍 (Although just a note, hanging garments on chairs can distort their shape - mostly for blazers, formalwear - so keep that to a minimum to keep their shape for longer!)
hello ! il me semble que je n'ai pas réussi à accéder au lien drive avec le patron mais uniquement celui avec les notes.. je peux te demander le patron si tu l'as ? merci beaucoup !
Hi! For my jumper I used roughly 75cm of the blue fleece (for the sleeves, collars and upper half of the bodice) and another 75cm for the lower half of the bodice. Both my fabric widths were around 130cm at least. I've included more detailed instructions in the Google drive link! Just note that the fabric you need will really depend on the size you are creating! For reference I am usually a size XS 😊
It can take a couple of tries to get used to admittedly! Make sure your jumper is nice and flat before trying to trace it too, you can iron it flat if it helps. Then use some weights to hold it down and slowly trace around parts as you go. It doesn't have to be exact, especially for this jumper style! It can be a little bigger to be more comfortable. You can measure the side seams and shoulder seams of your existing jumper and compare it to what you've traced and make adjustments from there too. Hopefully that helps!
Hi! You're welcome! I bought my binding pre-packaged from Spotlight (an Australian fabric/trims store). Sorry I'm not familiar with many international haberdashery stores, but if you know any local ones it's highly likely they will stock bias binding. Otherwise if you google 'bias binding' I'm sure there will lots of options online too, especially ebay and etsy. Good luck!
I’ve just found your Chanel. O my goodness, as a complete numpty when it comes to sewing, I’ve found your tutorials very educational. Many thanks.

You're welcome, thanks for the comment. Ah that's a pain! There are lots of great videos on how to make bias tape, so good luck!

Good alternatives thank you@@TheEvie202 ! A pocket is a great idea! You can hack one in if you search for an inseam pocket tutorial. Good luck!

Well done!!! I'm sure they will love it 🙂
Im a self-taught knitter/crocheter and have never sewn anything, ever. I love this so much and want to try to make this so badly 😂
Inspiring! I have been looking for a DIY video about a jumper like this one! Thank you. I will try to make one too, with my own twist.
Thank you! Let me know how you go! I've worn both of these so much more than I thought x
so impressive! I just moved to Saskatchewan and plan on sewing several of these haha thanks!

My pleasure 🥰 I'm planning to do a full zipper tutorial soon hopefully!
this is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Thank you so much Queeny! These were quite fun to make so let me know if you have a go! :)
Slew Living will do!! ❤️
This was very helpful information. Thank you
I really appreciate the help. It means a lot ❤️ thank you
You're most welcome, I'm so glad the video helped. Thanks for leaving a comment and let me know how you go with sewing your own jumper!
looks great. will definitely try
Hi! Is it alright if I use a 7 in. zip instead of a 10 in.? I got all my supplies and just realized I got a 7 in. zipper! 🤦♀️
I think it should work as long as it opens enough to get your head in 😀
@@SlewLiving Good point! :) Thanks for replying so quickly!

Hi love the video! In your pattern pdf that you posted are the example measurements the measurements you used for you sweater?
Thanks! Yes I believe they were for my jumper. I tried to give instructions where you can insert your own measurements too
How do you accurately trace your patterns? the front and back piece of mine does not match 😭
It can take a couple of tries to get used to admittedly! Make sure your jumper is nice and flat before trying to trace it too, you can iron it flat if it helps. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what do I search for online to buy that type of thick fleece? Great tutorial, thanks!
Not at all! I think it's commonly called polar fleece. Google that and it should come up 😊
@@SlewLiving amazing, thank you so much!!
Hello! Thanks for the video!
Where do you buy your bias binding? Can you recommend one? I can´t find any!

Wow , love this 👌👌
Thank you! Let me know if you have any suggestions for what I should make next 😊
Hi! Do you recommend starting with stay stitching? Thanks :)
Hello! Yes if you like, stay stitching can help to keep things in place 👌
Why do you use centimeters??
Australia uses the metric system
Another great video, thank you! What paper do you use for your pattern pieces?
I used to have a big roll of pattern paper leftover from my business, but now I just use small brown paper rolls that you can buy online 🙂
Such fun 👍🏻
hew slew, how much can i pay your for a personal fleece .
😆 Currently don't have the capacity to be doing custom fleeces but would love to in the future!!!
People use fold over elastic instead of binding to.
Oh yeah! Good tip 👌
'A million masks'. There was a wrestler called mil mascaras (a thousand masks).
Oh interesting! Thanks for sharing!
Dommage, pas assez d'expliquations pour les débutants.
Toutes mes excuses, je dois dire que ce n'est pas un projet de couture pour débutant. Je recommanderais pour les égouts intermédiaires !
Please slow down 😂 it would of been so handy to see how you pined and sewed the collar etc. really lovely video but I just struggled to keep up
Thanks for the constructive feedback! Will do my best to slow things down or offer captions to help along the way ❤️
I gotta find me a fine-ass woman to make me sweaters.
