      @@bennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn there's something about James' voice which is different from ReLoad, considering his vocals evolved in every record. The recording must've had a year gap at least, cuz the band was also on tour during '97.

    Load and Re-Load are amazing... and so was Garage Inc. I consider "Bleeding Me", "Outlaw Torn", "House That Jack Built", "Low Man's Lyric", "Memory Remains", "Astronomy (cover)" to be some of the best work the band has ever done. I applaud them for not just making the same album over and over. The first 3 with Cliff were AMAZING, and I will always consider Puppets my favorite, but Load is my second favorite :) Black album was amazing and it really showed the world that not only is MetallicA the world's greatest METAL band, they are also a very great ROCK band too. Load caught a lot of flack at the time but I loved the "blues/hard rock" sound of Load.

      Bleeding Me,The Outlaw Torn and Low Man's Lyric has great song structures and good lyrics.
      If Metallica continued to make thrash albums from 1983 until now it would be boring. That's why you will never see a great band like this in years to come. They took a lot of risks and in the end it paid off.

      +TheAtb85 Exactly, they were experimenting with their own creative expressions, I don't know why people get so upset when artists do this. It not the old style was gone, they still play those songs constantly on tour, nothing wrong with a big of variety or things can go stagnant anyway.

      @FredyTallicaMaiden14 7 лет назад +1

      TheAtb85 Song are very well made, by far is their most solid and creative album, but guess what, is not thrash, and people seem to be music ignorants when it comes to this, if is not thrash is trash, thats how most people see it, at the time, and how the metal scene was a lot of bands tried doing something different, kreator and megadeth in example, but fans blast the hell of those albums, even thought they were excellent in the musical side, in contrast with metallica, those bands stopped creating or experimenting, and just kept with their thrashy heavy style to please the fans, but well, Its better to enjoy things with no remorse, at the time you stop lisitening to something you like because a thrash elitist told you what you listen is shit because he doesnt like it, then is when you will loose your criteria.

You stated that metal music cannot be played on a Fender. I have showed that it can, because Maiden and many other metal bands use Fender.

    I love Load and Reload and don't really care about others opinions, yeah right these albums are different, not so speedy/thrash metal, but so what? I admire them more for being more creative and that they are looking for different, other inspirations, ideas. I hate opinions that they sold out and Slayer/Anthrax/Megadeth are still better cause they still have played thrash, that is not completely true, cause even Megadeth has changed in 90s and so Slayer after Seasons in the Abyss. So don't put labels on Meta, these musicians are changing and so songs that they are being written by them. If you don't like it, don't listen to it, but let others enjoy it!

    Load & Reload are the most ahead of their times Heavy Metal albums, they're a better band for sticking with how good they are musically, the look was down to Kirk and Lars which was a bad road to go down, they should have kept to what they believed in as a band who just got up on stage as the same person they were when they're off the stage but still, my favourite two albums by them as musicians, the first 5 were awesome but load and reload are pieces of art

    All those people who get so angry that this isn't like their earlier albums: Do you really think that band that, at the time of making load and reload, were 12-13 years old, would still write the same music they had done for the last decade? I'm not surprised that this is different to previous records, the band themselves have changed, grown up and matured, and I respect them for that. Load and ReLoad, and St. Anger for that matter, are some of their best and most meaningful albums yet.

    Load and ReLoad are great records, but I understand why they shocked so many long-time fans. Imagine hearing an album like Justice - an album that was so complex and brutal, yet lacking in good quality. And then they followed that with what is widely considered the best-produced album in rock/metal. So naturally, fans foresaw - or were the at least hoping for - a progressive-ish thrash album with huge sound. And instead they got Load and ReLoad. I love both albums, but I can also see how those two were letdowns considering where they had been previously.

    Idc what critics think, Load and Reload is really good. They went a lil bluesy/funky with a few, a cpl ballads, cpl old school hard ones. It's a great mix of talent. Just because it wasn't hard pounding doesnt mean its crap. Let artists explore...

      Great point, I think if this album was released by a band under a different name (a side project band) it would have been better received. Great songs but NOT Metallica songs.

    Bob Rock is a great producer. However, the lineage of Metallica albums had traditionally been made out of discomfort and controversial social ideals. The Black Album worked, but with Load and Re-Load, I think Bob influenced them too far outside of their traditional comfort zone: Rebelliousnous.

    • @RodniDemental
      @RodniDemental 8 лет назад

      +Patrick Schafer And by St Anger he just gave up apparently. lol But nah Bob's cool, he was essentially the unofficial 5th member during the 90s and even early 00's. People either don't give him enough credit, or don't realise that Metallica were actually on board with his ideas and still had the final say.

    • @patrickschafer170
      @patrickschafer170 8 лет назад +1

      Look at the footage while they were making the Black Album. Yes, they were "on-board" with Bob Rock because of his reputation. But you could also see the tension: James was annoyed half of the time, Lars was stabbing drumsticks through drum-heads, and Kirk was half-way walking out on Bob's ideas. Yes, Metallica had the final say, but in the end, the Black Album was a Juggernaut in terms of marketing, and got them exposed to millions more people world-wide. It was Load and Re-load that were pushed too far. Saint Anger doesn't count: James was in rehab most of the time and nobody knew what the hell to do. Then they went to Rick Rubin: He sonically destroyed that album. WAY too much compression. What is interesting is that as of now, Metallica as an entity has bought ALL of the rights to ALL of their albums, recordings, etc. When the next album comes out, it will be interesting to see what comes of it. On the fun side, that is also the ongoing mystery of Metallica. Stay tuned I suppose.

      +Patrick Schafer No! Don't believe everything you read on the internet! Bob had nothing to do with the albums! James and Lars decide the songs of the album not Bob! Bob will suggest ideas techniques and methods but nothing more! After the Master album Cliff said that he wanted the band to move on from Thrash even S & M M was cliffs idea. All the shit talk about Bob comes from all the hardcore insecure metalheads!

      How can an album that has Bleeding me, The Outlaw torn, The Thorn within, The House that Jack Built, Until it sleeps, Mama said etc be their worst album? The songwriting is far more mature than Kill em all and most of the songs are superior to early songs such as Trapped under ice, Fight fire with fire, Escape...

    • @TheLokocarlos

      Kuno Carlsberg how are they their most "honest" albums?

    • @vladimirmihajlovic2485
      @vladimirmihajlovic2485 7 лет назад

      Because the lyrical content of the songs tends to be more introspective and emotionally resonant. Justice and Black album started this trend but it only came to full prominence with Load and songs like The House that Jack Built, Mama Said, Bleeding me, The thorn within etc. Those who solely listen to metal don't have enough knowledge and sensibility to appreciate an album such as Load. If they did, they'd realise it's better than its predecessor and nearly just as good as Metallica's best albums of the eighties.

  • @tyz16
    @tyz16 15 лет назад

    Totally agree with you Redd. It's Metallica's choice to have the foundation of these songs, and not Bob Rocks. They chose to go a different way and why wouldn't they. If they hadn't gone with Bob, I don't think they would still be as big as they are today. I know I would get sick of 26 years of the same thrash metal. Instead, we got to hear them playing some old covers, some almost country and western, plus some blues and rock stuff. You get a whole catalogue of music with Metallica.

    Plus when Metallica originally recorded all of these songs, they were 29 songs completed and almost released as one album, they decided to split 'em up and make two cd's. So a lot of Reload was already completed before it was even an album.
