Thanks brother. I think I’ve only caught one other snakehead experience that tops this one, and that was underwater video of a fry ball with its parents. The jump on this one was about as epic as it can get without him having ended up in the kayak with me 😂
This spot ticks a lot of boxes: Thick Hydrilla mats Large pad fields Solid forage base Big fish Multiple species of fish Definitely a rare and excellent piece of water. Thanks for watching 👊
It was nuts bro. I only caught maybe 1/3 of the blowup action. For an hour it was like a fall striper blitz. Gotta try to find those conditions at least one more time this year.
Bro I was so enthralled by the jumps I didn’t realize how close he was to landing in the net when he jumped over the bow. And that bite towards the end? I only caught maybe 1/3 of the action. It was blowups all around me for about an hour straight. Insane.
Thanks brother! I’m gonna stay ready for that incoming tide bite and hope those conditions align again in my near future. It’s wild how much the topography of the hydrilla mats change from day to day.
Another round of monsters. Just a thought for you, I recently got the adjustable turret tube mounts from YakAttack and I have all four of my tubes angled back. This helps prevent tree snags passing through, as well as avoiding tips of stored rods being snagged on the backcast. Appreciate all the helpful info from your vids.
I’ve never seen anything like it bro. They were seriously Bustin like striper in the fall. I only caught maybe between 1/3 to a half of the action on video. For about an hour there it was just nuts. I’ll make sure to charge my stuff better next time.
Thanks Bob. That’s a Ketch 48” bump board. Not cheap, but solid board and keeps me ready for those 36+ inch fish. ketchproducts.com/products/48-folding-board
@KambotroutFishing damn, a little out my budget range for now. I wish there was a similar style of board for cheaper. I use them to measure 30-40 inch pike and the plastic ones don't hold up.
@@dragonbob2924 I hear ya. We’re trying to talk to a few vendors to make a board which better fits snakehead fishing and fish that top out around 38-40 inches
@KambotroutFishing It's seems simple enough to design a board like that. If you make it Aluminum, durable, folding, tournament ready, and under 50 bucks I'm sure it will be popular. Maybe even make it yourself.
Yes they are. For the process of what to do after you catch a tag fish, I’ll definitely cover that in an upcoming video. The process is actually pretty straightforward, but there are some important points to highlight.
Nice lookin dragon Steve....love all the other snake angles and the peanut bunker blitz...great video !!!!
Thanks brother! I’ve never seen a bunker blitz like that outside of the fall striper blitz. Almost time for that too
@KambotroutFishing That was real cool to see...can't wait for the Striper!
@@302FISHING me too. Really can’t wait to get my son on a fall striper bite. He’s gonna flip lol
That was an amazing acrobatic catch!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks. It’s some of the favorite video I’ve ever captured. Couldn’t believe a fish that big went that beserk right next to the kayak
That first one was crazy !.. what a fish!…that looked like so much fun.. good stuff brother!👍👊

Been waiting since the video dropped today to sit down and enjoy this. So worth the anticipation!!!! The fisrt catch 🤯
Lol, thanks brother. Man that angle couldn’t have been much better. He even leapt right over the bow 😂
@KambotroutFishing I came in and showed my wife. Told her "this is what I want to happen every weekend" lol absolutely awesome shot!!!
@@matthewreynolds1831 lol good stuff brother 😂
Nice work. Spot is killer for sure
Thanks brother 👊
Dude....freaking insane!!
Magical bro. Just magical lol 🥳
LETS GO ANOTHER BANGER VIDEO!!1!!!!!!!
Thanks Brendenio 👊
That 1st one almost landed in the net 😂! Nice fish! Congrats on the tagged catch too! That looked like a Amazing day and experience!

@KambotroutFishing I can't wait to get on some action like this! That bite was epic!
@@compressed_precision I won’t lie: never seen one this crazy, but I think it’ll happen again soon, especially with the fall approaching.
Epic day bro. Great video.

caught my first and most in that location
I only just started fishing it in 2023. Looking forward to learning more about this area this year
Man's got a lil trippy for this intro huh lol
I get excited 😏

Thanks Colin. I’ve been looking at those turret tube mounts from YakAttack and it’s time. Either that or get warranties on my rods lol
Great day Steve! What neck of the woods was that in( just River!) I don't recognize it.
Thanks Pete 👊
This spot is a very sensitive one. It’s a small creek vs a river, so if I were to give you the name, I’d give away the spot.
@@KambotroutFishing You gave me what I was looking for Steve. I never want you to give up your sensitive spots.
That's pretty cool to see them busting bait like striper. Sucks you had Gopro problems. Wish we could have seen more footage.

Amazing video dude. What bump board are you using on that first fish? looks super nice I need to get one.

A lot of great content but it’s that big thick Snake leaping over your bow that’s burned into my brain
Lol thanks Stu. Me too on that jump. I’ve rewatched it a few times 😏
Days like that are why we go fishing. Could you explain what you do when you catch a tagged fish (or have you already covered that elsewhere)?
Yes they are. For the process of what to do after you catch a tag fish, I’ll definitely cover that in an upcoming video. The process is actually pretty straightforward, but there are some important points to highlight.
I've broken 2 rods like that in the last 2 years
We need to stop lol
@KambotroutFishing yes we do it's getting out of hand
Congrats on the blue tag lol let me know what the release size was and all
Lol, I kept 5 this day for the freezer. Ate em two of the last 5 days for dinner. Superb
If you didn’t already call it in and they send a hat and certificate with the release size was when they released them with the tag.
@@devinchristy9969 yup, got the hat and certificate and contacted DNR for the $200. In the works 👍
It’s cool I found out the males are the bigger ones. I always thought it was the females.
Run it back here
I’m gonna do my best to find these conditions one more time this year 👊
@@KambotroutFishing yeah me too 😂
Kambo-batics
Makes me wanna wait till I’m on top of fry balls before casting from now on
