Love this BTS / Vlog style content! I would be interested to see a BTS video about the daily GCN inner workings too, I've always been curious about the process of making a video from ideation, scripting, production, editing etc :)
Love seeing a behind the scenes video. Would love to see a behind the scenes of GCN mega base as well and all that goes into making a GCN/GTN/GMBN RUclips video. I'm sure there are loads of really hard-working people that don't get enough credit for the amazing content that gets put out multiple times a week.
Chapeau Manon! Cheers from PDX to Jack and you. Yes please; more 'GCN:BTS'! All this talent, logistics, kit and effort turns a mere ride with friends into a much-loved spectacle of global proportions! Looking forward to GCN's 2024 Classics coverage! Thanks to all of you at GCN and your work covering the 2024 season. Off now to buy a pair of Mike's pink Crocs; hilarious!
It’s a pleasure to see Manon at the Yas circuit where I ride my bike twice a week. I would have jumped in joy if I had seen you in person. Love your HIIT videos.
From the “Meet The Presentor”’s video a few years ago, Manon did some racing stuff as her favorite hobby outside cycling. The race track in UAE is awesome! I bet she wanted to drive a race car there too. 🥺 Also, great video indeed! It’s been a while since we’ve watched a @gcn vlog. Lovely and beautiful to watch and see the BTS too! 💖
top Tour tip: always pack a Shadow Stand! Loved the behind-the-scenes with Manon. I'd love to see Manon going for a ride in Abu Dhabi with some of the women from the Tour too, Ollie-style.
That water reclamation from the bike wash is an interesting and good idea. Did it all go into a tank for purifying or used as grey water for gardens and such?
I appreciate the behind the scenes video. I would love to see a behind the scenes of some of other location shoots as well - what does the crew look like for some of the trips that include a lot of riding?
Enjoyed that. Particularly annoying as I happened to be out in Dubai at the end of the Women's Tour/start of the men's and hadn't twigged beforehand so didn't catch any of it. Still not ridden my bike out there.
My last trip to Europe, from Australia was flying Emirates so it was Dubai for several hours then on to Europe, So it was 12 hour flight and then a 7 hour flight. It took me a few days to get over the jet lag or similar. Never used to have to much problems. So wonder how the presenters cope with the travel , different time zones, then still come out smiling for the camera…
All of these pro teams are now racing in the Middle East in January and February, months ahead of the Classics. Seems like November and December are the only months off, compared to years ago when racing was primarily in Europe and cycling was a spring and summer sport. Has this longer season resulted in bigger salaries for pro riders?
Thanks for the comment! Really interesting when we look at the length of the season now, and how short the off-season tends to be. With regards to salaries, they are generally higher now than previously as the sport has become more commercialised.
If you are going to do this next year again(and if ill be there), i can show you the little live cameras on the bikes, wich are used during the live broadcasting of the race, maybe even the motorbikes that are driving around the peloton during the race.
@@gcn Living in UAE, the bike infrastructure here is at another level. May I suggest you guys make a separate episode about the bike infrastructure and bike culture in UAE.
Awesome video Manon the women tour bikes have way better paint jobs for sure. Also when are GCN going to do a video about the cheapest bike in the tour, "Dare" bikes?
Yeap. A shit show of a country with 9/10 of people living there having close to no rights. UAE has had more slaves live there in 2000's than USA ever had.
Monon wouldn't have to hold the bike up for photos to be taken, if someone at GCN mega base invented a invisible stand specifically for photos to be taken, it could be just was like a shadow, and if it was any good GCN could even try to sell it.
I appreciate GCN's on going efforts to keep us informed and entertained about the most recent trends and events in the cycling world but I find this particular presentation somewhat contentious. Just a very superficial perusal of the web will quickly reveal the UAE's very problematic issues around human rights and tolerance for criticism and dissent not least of which is directed at women specifically, making Manon's participation all the more troublesome. The UAE has lots of money and seems to buying legitimacy by sponsoring major events in the world of sport (golf, formula one, cycling, etc). I have not known GCN from shying away from difficult issues before, so it should be expected that they address these issues as they relate to cycling and sport specifically. There's always room to improve.
The UAE is an entire nation built on the concept of sparing no expense to show that no expense has been spared. The gratuitous opulence is obscene. It's like Monaco on steroids.
Strange video featuring hundreds of empty tents and hire cars. Seems that you turned up a day or two too early and struggled to produce any meaningful footage.

Really good watch but can you make them a bit longer possibly 30mins, you could easily fill it with content. Cheers.
@@sparx550 I'm sure they need to be careful with their mix of longer form and short form content, but I have no clue about RUclips metrics.
Yes please! I would love more sports washing content!
Yes, I'd LOVE to see more behind the scene videos like this, especially by Manon. She's the best GCN presenter IMO.
Yes, please! That was a really nice video.
Thanks Manon...good and interesting video. Mike the mechanic and his pink crocs...'living his best life' 😉👍
Hi! Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it and found it interesting! Magic Mike is a legend!
Thank you Manon , Jack , Mike and crew....very cool !
Manon rocks! Cool to see the people we normally don’t see.
Really enjoy this kind of content, the everyday life of a GCN presenter. Thank you Manon and Jack.

Ah, that is our secret!
@@JonCannings That only makes me more curious 👀
I love it when my two passions (cycling and motorsports) come together in one video

Highly entertaining video with great insight into what is going on behind the scenes. Beautifully delivered by the GCN team. Both thumbs up 👍👍
Much appreciated! 👍
I never left my country before I’m so happy that we got to see this video with Manon. Great video and can’t wait to see the next one.

Great video Manon! 🚴🏼Mike was rocking those pink crocs! 😊

as a bike mechanic myself, i am quite jealous of their set ups! and as a racer, those bikes~!

Hi GCN 😊
Hello!

You can even see a F1 racing car in UAE cycling tour.
Pro mechanics in an improvised tent look a lot more like keen cyclists on vacation.

Interesting... The team cook/nutritionist doesn't was the rice before cooking.
A nice bit of sport washing.

Dangerous place to put a swimming pool 2:40
Manon, if you went to Austrailia. Your more likely to see a camel. As they have more camel than the UAE.
Interesting behind the scenes but sportswashing overall.
Please send more women to any event in any of these countries that don’t treat women the way they’re supposed to be treated
Manon is iridescent
What's the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
People in Dubai don't like the Flintstones but people in Abu Dhabi doooooo.
that is an incredible joke! I didn't expect that!
Manon looks cute in pink 🙂

Sportswashing BS. Boycott everything to do with them. The racing is insanely boring anyway.
