  • Hello RUclips!
Today I'm going through the creation of my live performance template in Bitwig Studio!
In this episode I'm discussing the basic concept and goal, some prepping, looping and other stuff. There will be some follow-up episodes discussing - effects, transitions, hardware and other more advanced stuff, so stay tuned for those coming up soon!
    Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for showing some tips on Bitwig. I bought this DAW last year and never looked back. For me the horizontal clip launcher just makes more sense. I actually build out the template for my song in the clip launcher first then hit record and launch the scenes to build out the song in the timeline when I'm happy. This workflow helped me finally get some songs done as I'm the great procrastinator.

Hello there, is it possible to build a Bitwig Live Set with multiple tracks/songs like you can do in Ableton? I've never seen anyone using it live on stage for playing a set.

Yes absolutely, workflow is much the same

Man I am so glad you are using Bitwig. Any chance you could maybe make some videos about Grid? Maybe like designing simple Kicks and whatnot?

Yes ideas on bitwig would be great more over a complete psytrance track from start to finish on bitwig would be so nice 🙏

Yes! I'm using Bitwig too! I would love to play music like that. This is obviously just Part 1 of a series. Is there more coming on how to deal with having more than one track?
    Great content!

Yep, I deal with transitions and layouts etc more in detail in episode 2, it's already up for next week, so my early access Patreons have it :)

Hi DG! Any tips to help Bitwig performance better. When using heavy VST plugs it has problems, the worst performance of all DAWs....now back to Cubase 13😢

That's a pretty blanket statement, unfortunately without some quantifiable issue I can't help. Perhaps join in my discord and give a bit more of an explanation. In my experience, Cubase was far more bloaty and even just the project loading would crash sometimes, that's not suitable for live situations IMHO.

@@DashGlitch I have 20 tracks. 15 are sample tracks. 3 midi are Pigments, 1 Serum, 1 Gforce OBX all inserted with heavy FX from Plugin Alliance or similar. Using Motu ultralite mk5, extra high 256 samples buffer size, around 80% performance used. This is not really cool. All DAWs the same shit, when using Windows. Got 64 GB RAM 3200/ Ryzen 5800X. The only DAW who can handle heavy loads is Reaper, but I don't like it. Maybe I should switch to Mac, which I heavily dislike as Anti-Apple User 🤭 Or I have to bounce inline in Bitwig and then close/deactivate the plugin. This is annoying as I sometimes want to automate parameters and have to reload the plugin with the needed saved preset.....and thank you for writing me back, i really appreciated! Keep on your holy Goa wizzardness! 🤘
