WHAT I SPEND IN A MONTH 💸 ✨ (+ the cost of condo living) | Tita Talks 🍵

  • Hello~! Sharing with you the updated cost of condo living! Before watching, kindly take note of the following:
    1) April is really a high expense month because I had several one-time expenses budgeted for the month
    2) I try to be transparent with you because independent living is not cheap (if you want a comfortable lifestyle). Before moving out, make sure that your finances can support your expenses + some buffer.
    3) I try to save and invest 60-65% of my total income, and allocate 35-40% for my necessities.

Hi! I’ve been receiving comments/DMs about how I spend too much in a month. I agree that a lot of people spend less than what I consider my base spending. I would also like to share my perspective on the matter. I am willing to spend money to enjoy a comfortable life-pay the bills, work in a comfortable environment, share a portion of my income, have fun every once in a while and still have room for savings and investment (please don’t confuse with luxurious lifestyle). These are my non-negotiables; I’m okay with not spending on clothes, shoes and luxury bags. As mentioned in the video, my full year outlook is 60-65% of active income goes to savings and investment. This does not yet include returns on my investment portfolio. Essentially, it is a lifestyle that I can afford.
I do not recommend everyone to spend as much as I can, though. It should depend on your financial situation, capacity and needs. What I suggest is to make sure you live within your means AND set aside money for savings/investment. If possible, diversify your sources of income. You can only reduce your expenses by so much, but the potential income streams are endless.
Also for easy reference, I’m sharing the breakdown of my May 2021 Budget - total is 50.9K. Kindly note that Love Fund is completely discretionary, and my Business Expense may not be applicable on your end (about 11k in total).

Hi Ms Thea, thank you for sharing the detailed breakdown . The numbers seem high for others but considering that you still save 60-65% that makes you a wise spender and good in budgeting. I started watching your videos since you have small following. Continue to be an inspiration for everyone who wants to be financially literate and independent. Love lots!

Share ko po. Working po ako now sa corporate, pero naka work from home set up. Nag try po ako to sell merienda (like turon, banana cue, kamote cue, ube and cheese) sa community namin. Good thing po may FB groups yung community namin kaya nakaka market ako. Capital namin is P2k. Hati po kami ng kasambahay sa kita. So if may family member po kayo na kaya tumulong, sana maconsider niyo ang suggestion ko. :)

I really don't get the negative comments about this video. Watched this already when it was freshly uploaded and thought I love how well-detailed everything was. Lahat recorded. Why are people here so nega and comparing their monthly expenses, as if magastos si Thea and wala na syang karapatan magbigay ng financial tips? People have different priorities, lifestyle and financial situations. Just because you just spend X amount monthly, doesn't mean others have to live the same. Sobrang tipid na nga ni Thea sa lagay na yan for someone in her lifestyle eh.

    • @leaf3001

Don't wanna sound mean pero I feel like yung iba dito financially insecure lang kaya nagpo-project. If they even watched the video, they'd know na madami-dami siyang binayaran using vouchers and yung iba ay one time expenses lang din. Lalo ding liliit yung gastos if inalis ni Thea yung love fund niya.

Hi Thea, Video idea suggestion. People said I sold myself short at di ko tinake advantage yung pangalan ng university ko. Pero the fact na 3wks after graduation may work na ako feeling ko advantage na agad yun. 10yrs na naman ako nagwowork. Pero gusto ko lang ng objective opinion on how you should sell yourself as a fresh grad.

I enjoyed watching this as well as reading the comments. Grabe yung breakdown ng expenses, down to every bit of small expenses. Kaniya-kaniya lang - some may live comfortably spending quite a lot, some may not have to spend this much, but this teaches us to be mindful of every single expense we make each day, every month.

Also your sharing is so good, I really love how comprehensive your report is. I learned a lot, and I agree not to scrimp on love funds!! Hope your aunt is ok. I guess another realization I learned is that living with another income-generating person would also help a lot.

I like this breakdown of monthly expenses. Medyo malaki nga kahit separated pa yung one-time and advance expenses, but true din na you're not as extravagant in spending as others. Mahal lang talaga expenses. Lalo pa siguro pag may family na.

I live alone for almost 5 years now (international flight attendant based in middle east) and sobrang hirap talaga mag adulting but at the same time sobrang nakakaenjoy.
I love tracking my expenses para naman makita san ko nagagastos ang pera ko but I don’t pressure myself kasi the more na naghihigpit ka sa pera mas lalo kang hindi nakakasave 😉
I tried to cook home food as much as possible or even prep meal para makasave. I limit ordering food online kahit sobrang tempting.
I rarely go out only when I do grocery and I bought a coffee machine para no more buying super expensive coffee outside lol.
I’m now trying to build my emergency fund good for 6months after that save ulit lol.

Wow!! ang galing! Actually, I costumized yung excel that you posted according to my need. Ang inaaral ko palang is to budget for the year. And this gave me a perspective why you really need to budget for a year. Ang ginagawa ko lang kasi is nagbabudget before an activity. That is easier. Pero grabe very challenging din mag budget ng for buong year. and yet di kasing laki ng budget ko ang binabudget mo hehe..

This is proof that Parkinson's Law also applies to budgeting. “Expenses expand so as to fill the income available for it to be paid.” If your income is P100,000 a month, you will spend more or less a 100k a month. If your income is P10,000 a month, you will spend more or less a 10k a month. We spend based on how much money we have, and when it starts to get out of budget, we start to make Choices and Tradeoffs to fit the money available on our pockets. Kaya delikado magka Credit Card. It gives you the false belief that card limit is actually income. Then when you get deeply trapped makikinig ka na kay Dave Ramsey :D

With regards po sa books, did you buy po ba second hand? When I was in HS and elementary madalas po ako sa library or manghiram sa classmate (syempre isosoli 😆). May public libraries pa din naman po mga municipalities (like sa QC and Manila). So para makatipid sa physical books (without pirating), pwede libraries, hiram sa friend/family.
Scribd subscription is sulit if talagang gamit na gamit per month.
If totoong ayaw gumastos ayun, piracy 😅 madaming free audiobooks and free pdf books.

Depende yun sa pagbbudget. Me as a single mom I notice na halos same lang kami ng way ng budgeting ang pinagkaiba lang is iba yung lifestyle nya sa akin. I'm not sure if naparating ko ba yung point ko pero Kudos talaga sa mga vlogs mo ang dami ko natutunan.
