I have a pair of Vibergs in C.F. Stead's Winter Smoke regency calfskin on their 2030 last. Mine are darker and match perfectly with Saphir Medaille d'Or Pommadier Cream in dark brown. Great boots and great color that's very versatile. It's been accurately described as the color of motor oil. I think it's the best of both black and brown that can be dressed up or down.
Good Morning Dale! Just another beautiful boot from Viberg. I too, feel that Viberg is well worth the money. Classic designs, wonderful materials and excellent execution. Buying a great used pair like this is all the better. BTW, well done on the video effects at the beginning. Makes the video even more entertaining. Chapeau!
I think you nailed Viberg's fine line between dress boots and rugged style. The black edged version is far more formal, as I see it. I prefer the ones in hand but also prefer the 2030 last.
Bought my first pair of Viberg direct from BC. Had tried on a stunning pair of boots in Philly, don’t recall the last, everything was a touch too small or large, wanted a shoe truthfully. Nervously made an educated guess and my Rockland Bluchers in Earth Chamois arrived quickly. This was anything but a casual purchase, had reservations about the 2030 pinching my toes. Turns out they are a fabulous fit at a half size down from the size I wear in a Red Wing 23 last. They simply felt very good out of the box, If you’re going by a purely objective metric, nothing beats a Grant Stone, Parkhurst or Truman for example. Viberg, they offer a lot of intangibles and man are they special. The money is simply something an individual needs to decide for themselves and it might depend on what’s going on in their life that month. I had considered shoes from both Nick’s and Wesco, for seemingly less money, though I suppose by the time various decisions are made, they might add up to more than they show initially. I don’t mind not being able to pick and choose from endless options of what’s being offered checks all my boxes. With Viberg, things come and go, but the shoes are ready to go for the most part. Bummer these didn’t fit the original owner, it’s a hassle to have to resell and returning shoes to Canada- Brooklyn Clothing is also in Canada, that’s a hassle and costs money. There seems to be a common pattern with this crowd, you’ve got to be more or less ok knowing you’re buying a boot that simply might not work out for you, but oh so fine when it does.
You said it brother! The few Vibergs I have are Lightning in a bottle. I have ordered the wrong size before and it sucks but when you get it right there’s nothing like it
Nice video! I would love to see you get your hands on a pair of boots from Urban Wolf Club. I just bought a pair of their Axeman boots. Full leather midsole only for $170. That is cheaper than Thursdays! Looking forward to wearing them!
The Grant Stone Garrison boot is also a sleek looking brogued cap toe boot with single piece heel counter backstay that retails for less than half what these Vibergs retail. You'd have to be ok with Goodyear welted versus stitchdown and made in China versus made in Canada. Grant Stone quality and finish is probably impossible to beat at their price point.
best boot on the market. what a beauty. hope they are also comfortable out of the box.
