Everybody wants to “help” homeless people, but nobody wants them in their area.

Exactly.. the woman complaining about ‘tax paying citizens’ needing this and that sounds ridiculous. These people are human beings that need help. BooHoo… Jesus 🙄🙏🏽

To be fair it's because many people who are homeless are crazy. Not everyone. But a large majority have mental problems and can't hold a job

I am in agreement with the Pallet Home project IF the city plan is well planned and thoroughly financed...My main concern with the city is that, many times, the city start these ambitious projects but either don't sustain them long term or finance them properly or efficiently...This project should be heavily vetted with the right people and it should be run with a round the clock management team headed by a general manager with a round the clock security staff to keep the criminal element away or this project won't be successful in the long term...However, I am glad to see the city trying to address homelessness and poverty in KCMO...

Why , why do people who are wealthy , who made thier wealth working hard , educating themselves and striving to achieve success always get looked at like because they are wealthy they have to give that wealth to others . Your given a brain use it . As for the homeless you can't help those you won't help themselves.

@@backyardbuilttrucks1 So you ok with putting this into an area where hard working men like my dad who served in 2 wars worked hard and never got any help from anyone but himself.
But because he isn't wealthy, he would have to deal with this. It's ok to put this on him and other hard-working family's but the wealthy don't.

Try having thousands of homeless putting up tents with no idea who live within them. This gives you ideas that at least we know who’s there

Grew up one street over from the Municipal Farm where they want to put these at. Once again, the Government wants to do it's best to try and run neighborhood into the ground.
In the late 70s they turned the Apartment complex off of Eastwood trafficway across from where K-Mart Dolgins & Toy City used to be. Into to Government subsided apartments.
And they turned what used to be a nice area into a not so nice area.
And they are at it again.

Sorry but most homeless people want to live that way , either lazy or lack the moral and inner strength or have a addiction homeless people made the choice . Can't help those who won't help themselves.

How many homeless people do you actually know, to have formed this opinion? I WAS homeless… due to a series of unfortunate events. I knew dozens. Some are as you described, but many are not. They just need a hand up. I got a hand up, and that was 4 years ago. Before I was homeless I was a middle-class suburban wife, working in management.

Many have lost all due to illness and the inability to work or the death of a caretaker in the family. One should never say never and punch down on others. Many are war veterans who fought for their homeland. Messed up in the war and now the country they fought for discard them
