I think your observation about Paul is off, my belief after watching this and subsequently reading about the break up of the Beatles and how it affected Paul over anyone is this :
Paul was not think he was bigger than The Beatles , Paul was their to work putting pressure on himself to make sure they had 14 songs in the time that was needed. Paul knew what he had in front of him more then John or George ever did , Johns attitude after the split was we were just a band , Paul never had that attitude he knew how big all 4 of them were and he did not want it to end. All he did was try and keep these guys together but he couldn’t . Ringo was going whichever way things swayed, all George Harrison did was whine like a child most of the way thru this because in his mind he was done with the Beatles John was a bit more of a hard read at times he was late, stoned , into it , not into it , sneaky with the whole Allen Kline thing , and himself all throughout , I’m not knocking him but the 2 that were the least in favor of work were john and George .
If it weren’t for Paul and his pushy ways none of this would have gotten done .
But what we saw up on the roof top was pure magic , when these 4 were on , there was no stopping them and everything and everyone was happy for a brief moment in time while that concert was going on

Yeah it was hard to discuss all the complexities in a short time but I agree, Paul wanted it to work. I felt like he took on the burden of boss, and I think that rubbed the others the wrong way. Although I agree it may have been the only way for it to work. That’s also why I mentioned how young they were, they handled it amazingly well. I can’t imagine being in that situation and ending up with Let It Be and Abby Road haha. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate honest feedback!

@@onemoreguitarchannel I have been a Beatles fan since before high school , and over the years I always wanted the truth why this train derailed so to speak, but I get it now , this film painted the picture of how they really were 4 brilliant men who loved and adored each other as a family should . For their age , yes they held it together very well except for the one thing that did them in …
The business aspect of it ultimately destroyed them which lead to the petty arguing within the band .
Paul was without a doubt the de facto leader during this time because no one else wanted to do not even Lennon .
Paul while pushy at times drove them and because of that drive the last 2 albums produced some amazing music.
I can see the others didn’t like being pushed but the end result was magic regardless of who’s feelings were hurt.
As far as the Allen Kline thing , Paul McCartney had that man pegged from the moment he laid eyes on him.
We can chat about what if but history is what it is , but if the other 3 had just listened to Paul , because he was the business oriented one , they would have had more money and sooner .
But Kline put a major dent in it for the bad .
Paul suing the band ultimately helped them all in the long run , he wasn’t trying to hurt them , he was doing what he needed to do. By this point he had enough of Kline and snapped , rightfully so………
Look at what the breakup did to him , depression , drinking , and went into hiding to get away from life , Paul knew what that band meant to him and the breakup was extremely hard for him , the others seemed to have not cared or that’s what it appears but no one really knows what the other 3 went thru ……..
Im glad this film finally came out it basically puts to rest alot of what we were told all these years ……..

@@onemoreguitarchannel I think people are using the wrong phrase when they say Paul took on the burden of being the boss, leader. He was taking on the burden of being the manager ever since Brian died. That was a year and a half before the filming. Why they thought they didn’t need a manager is beyond me. Because as wonderful as they were making music, there was a lot more to do running the Beatles. They were supposed to create music not arrange everything that needed arrangement and management. Not having a manager and then having Klein as a manager is what took the toll on them as a Beatles.

Enlightening summary with great observations. John seemed level headed and often trying to drop stress levels. RIngo, there and delivering as required, George giving it his all on lead and Paul trying to keep it going. A must see for Beatle fans. Well done, Thanks!

Ringo and John were 28, Paul was 26 and George was 25. They were not "around 30."

Wrong!! Most of them were in their mid twenties!! Ringing was the oldest at 29. George was the youngest at 25 and John and Paul were 26 and 27. or 28 years old. Billie Preston as the 5th Beatle was just 22 years old. Please get your stats straight before you broadcast bullshit online
