Brian's been killing it since Flight Diaries and I'm loving seeing his Nardwuar-esque ability to ask real questions that shows he is passionate about the sport and hearing from these players.
The reprise video of Simon making a shot into the basket on top of a moving vehicle going over a bridge is where my disc golf journey started 3 years ago. I was 55 years old. As a child of the 70s, throwing Frisbee was there from an early age. Played some ultimate back in the day. Generally, I was always about never having to make my throwing partner not have to chase my throw.....lest they wanted to run... I was all about throwing a strike right into their hands where they stood. My 70 year old brother is now a frequent player as well as other family members. We all played a round together in Tennessee last October during a family reunion. There is no better ambassador to disc golf than Simon.
Bearheart rules. Told him at Sunset during Ledgestone how much I love this series. Guessing this was shot last March, I'm encouraged to think now there are a few more episodes to be released. Simon is always such a great interview and can't wait to see ya both out there in 2025!
FYI: It was Peter Bowie of New Zealand who won the first (7-discipline) WFDF world championship waaaay back in 1987. I still have the basket he won as part of his prize package, in my retail store in Christchurch. And you are very lucky never to have played into it: I added a second row of chains, and it STILL catches almost no putts!
Simon talking about throwing harder, not stretched out makes a lot of sense. There are studies that show static stretching decreases athletic performance for up to 24 hours.
Regarding the distance throws Simon didn't mention he said that both him and Wiggins Jr. thought that the last distance record was debatable due to wind and that all future records should be somewhat regulated regarding the wind. He did hint to it saying they it was all "more funny than heartbreaking at that point" I was a bit disapointed with the catch shots, i was expecting more turnovers and stall shots, i always start going wild once i get dialed when playing catch. Nice interview, even though i wish it was way longer.
@curtisbowman6199 I got my frisbee start on the beach with my dad. Took several years before he trusted me in the headwind with hundreds of people around. Now we draw a crowd watching us after 30 years of flying. Love it!
People don’t believe it but simon was kinda extremely rude back in the day when we all played as juniors… maybe he was just rude to me bc Im ⚫️ but who knows again no one ever believes me bc apparently he’s so chill now or whatever but I won’t forget🤷🏾♂️
Obviously David Wiggins n Anthony B, throws further 😂 not even gonna watch this. Get someone new, not these same salesmen with the same pitch. Barnicals

Simon is so much fun to watch. He's serious but also takes risks, which makes him exciting.
Brian kills it in these interviews. I love 'em

Simon is that brother we all wish we had

Brians questions are great! Always enjoy his works.
He left you hanging for 5 seconds, but you got there in the end 😄
lol. Kudos to Brian for not giving up on it.
Not surprised these caught fire as far as content goes. We're able to get a sneak peak into our favorite players
that was fun guys, for some reason I thought there might be an attempt for 400 ft... i love these chats!!
You could see that Simon immediately started sizing up the park and conditions to see if it would be possible
@@lefyfey finding that tailwind he was....not gonna lie...I wanted it !!!
Simon has been and will always be my favorite disc golfer!!!
Now I need to track down "Invisible String!" Great video, as usual.
I started playing disc golf in the '70s with a 119. Awesome disc.
This is great disc golf content. 💪🏼
Love this series! best journalism in disc golf
simon's disc is still sobbing in the salt flats knowing damn well it holds the record
Let's go find it. It will be the one of the greatest archaeological finds.
It might still be flying and could hit him in the back of his head one day. : D
YO! Reppin Bevel! Love it!
Glad to see more Brian showing up on the channel more
He’s ALL they have…
Entertaining, quality interview. Simon is one of our favorites.
Love the “All in the family “ music vibes !!
Never a doubt. Made for disc golf. Thanks guys!
Can this be an hour longer please?

Great episode!
I lived in knoxville many years and Will Schusterick would show up for leagues and consistently throw a Zephyr 500 feet. Blew my mind!!!!😂😂😂
What RPM do you think Simon is snapping that WhamO at? Brian is no slouch at freestyle but he had that disc spinning on his finger for a long time.
Awesome video, two of my favorites in dg✌️
Love this yo ❤

Gotta love Simon! Even though I'll always be sad he's not with Discmania anymore.
So fun
This was maybe my favorite dg vid ever. I would kill to have a catch with Simon. Also surprised he didn't run from the dogs. 😂
Two of the raddest dudes in the sport.
Side note: is Kat the Theo Von of disc golf?
Nahh Matty O

😊 these are fantastic
I never clicked so fast. I know, I am one of “them”
In new mexico we have gusts of wind that can be in the 80s I once saw a disc fly over a half mile
Simon is MY goat❤
I used to hit my longest drives with a club on the first hole as well. Must be something like that not too loose idea. Maybe early jitters too?
Great conversation, but too short! Go for another 2 hours!
Keep this series going! And bring back the flight diaries podcast 😎

I carry a glitch in my backpack everywhere I go. My son absolutely crushes that disc, he's 3. He just ask me to go to the park and throw disc 😂!
Yes. Simon in a video. I click. 🍻👍
More disc golfers need to learn to play catch. Such an asset to your game. Speed and nose angle control.
Brian's control throwing a 119g catch disc upwind is impressive. you can definitely tell he was an ultimate player from that low release.
@curtisbowman6199 I got my frisbee start on the beach with my dad. Took several years before he trusted me in the headwind with hundreds of people around. Now we draw a crowd watching us after 30 years of flying. Love it!
Sounds like the distance world record needs a wind limit, no?
@brian is that Keith Haring art on your 🧢?
❤❤❤
I can throw the same distances as Simon but it takes me three throws to do it!!!
Where do I get that hat that Brian is wearing?
Dogs and discs. The good life.
You guys gotta dial in the socks and shorts. You almost had a perfect outfit match.
So Simon is retiring after his contract, got it
likely before it ends
distance records should only count if the wind is less than 10 mph, and on flat ground.
And that disc went on to win Worlds 12 times...
How can you count it as a record in a hurricane like wind.throw it off a mountain see how far it goes..lol
not a real record not sure who authenticated it or why, because usually there are strict rules for distance or speed records
Great vid. Slow down on the catch and throw a little maybe.
Good🫱🏼🌞🫲🏼Morning
I wonder if anyone’s found the “1,500ft” thrown disc. 🤔🤯
I pray you both know the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and eternal life in His name.
Did I not pay attention enough or did I get scammed off of scarecrow catch attempts that were promised?

Was in SC and had Krispy Kreme coffee for the first time. Way better than Dunkin, at least the Lattes.
foot fault
Nice shirt Brian :/
What's wrong with his shirt?
@@chadbizeau5997 guy doesnt like a decent brew obviously
first?
Who else saw this 1500 ft shot? 😂 🧢
Nobody saw it, it was lost ;)
