It's fascinating, watching this video about two months after SF6's release, to see which parts were prescient and which aged like milk.

I really like the idea of Sakura as a protagonist. Popular character, makes sense story wise and it keeps Ryu in the picture as the master rather than the ex-protagonist.
Yes! Make Makoto as her rival, too... Make Ryu a last boss, too...
We could do a similar thing with Sean and Ken, where Sakura and Sean are both best friends and rivals.

Now that Street Fighter 6 is coming and it seems to actually be a time skip (Thank God), let's see how many of your awesome ideas they're actually going to use! Unfortunately we have to remember... this is Capcom we're talking about!
Hopefully they won't lean too heavily on this new MMA focused, ESports friendly, hyper realistic direction the teaser seems to be pointing at, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If I’m being honest, the rose thing always struck me as that’s how she ended up in alpha, not that the next game would follow her journey, so I expected a time skip

I think Capcom should start to realize that not every American character has to be blond. Heck, they already have a non-blond American character in Mike Haggar!
SF6 will have Haggar dye his hair blond.

15 to 16 blondes with a couple being dyed isnt even half the roster of 45 total. Its some americans in the game who arent blonde tho but a few extra not blonde wont hurt.

Now instead of the whole Sean having the most powerful special thing. Have him think of a way to use the Hadouken with a basketball and then the basketball can be surrounded by energy and instead of just being a linear Hadouken. You can bounce it off of walls or floor and point it in different ways
Actually i had thus idea along time about not a basketball but like you said his hadoken bounces like basketball n soccer attacks.
After leaving ken he trains with deejay n elena.
Sean returns too his family dojo n learns the style too envolve his style.
Sakura n Sean should be the Ryu n Ken.

If we want to stick to the Li-fen idea, it would be totally plausible that she'd get to know them in some capacity since both are on good terms with Chun-Li and so she could pick up a couple moves from them in that way (divekicks return with a vengeance). I can't think of a good enough story scenario to rope them into the roster but it's a start lol.

Akuma needs an apprentice, too. His ending in 4 is all about a desire to teach Ryu, so he has the plot hooks to be set up as a master. Probably a new character who embodies a different angle of his brand of lawful evil. For a returning character, maybe Makoto. She's an implicitly angry character and I think Tanden Renki could easily be worked thematically into dark hado stuff.

There was some scrapped SFV concept art where Akuma carried a baby on his back. Maybe that could be his protoge?

I agree, but how cool would it be if that apprentice turned out to be Dan? He does have access to the Satsui no Hado in the comics, even being able to pull off the Raging Demon! Imagine how much of a plot twist that would be if Dan became the new Akuma!
If you don't know what's happening to Seth, let me explain:
After Seth lost Street Fighter IV, Juri accidentally brings him back but in a female robotic body. And because of the malfunctions of the Doll Zero, he can't process his emotions correctly and it ends up making him want to exact revenge on Bison for dethroning him. But the thing is, he mistakes two other beings with Psycho Power for Bison due to him being mentally unstable. And once the two leave, he supposedly rampages through the city as he laughs taking on an imaginary Bison.
If he were ever added as DLC in your concept, this is what I would imagine him doing...
A year or two before the events of Street Fighter VI, he just so happens to reconstruct his body to look like the original Seth again, but the mental damage is already done. No longer a king, he has to deal with a hallucination of Bison as he desperately tries to kill him. As far as he can tell, Bison is not dead, he hasn't accepted it yet. But when faced against Master Cobra, or someone like that, they finally tell Seth that Bison is dead. Seth, of course, doesn't believe him at first and aims to take him down just because he still sees Bison. But once that thought has finished processing, he could only laugh at “Bison's” corpse knowing that Bison was killed before he could get to them. Now, as one last fight with Ryu, the one who finally killed Bison, commences, Seth proclaims: “I should've been the one to kill him! It couldn't have been you, I'll never believe you were the one who killed him!” And after the fight, Seth becomes too damaged to go on as Juri suddenly takes a stop by him and goes: “Y'know, I really need a replacement for my eye. You look like just the one that fits the bill.” Thus tying to what you've said about Seth becoming apart of Juri, while still including a bit of closure to his villainous descent to madness.
Sakura and Sean should be the two new shoto leads and make ryu the jotaro, the series protagonist that supports others. Also Alex and akira should stay mainstay.
If there's any fighting game that I'm still dying to have a sequel.....is *Garou : Mark Of The Wolves*

I really want to see a fully mature and hardened Alex in SF6. I feel like he was set up as this young rookie full of potential, but we never got to see him develop.
An idea for older Batsu’s storyline. He can be the new principal of Taiyo High school and head of the Imawano ninja clan. This shows that he continuing his father Raizo’s wish to impact the world through education as well as Batsu becoming a more focused student and improving his studies as well as growing as a martial artist going from hot headed fighter to a cool and calm master.

Honestly ever since Ed became playable, he got kinda done dirty [He shouldn't have been aged up, and while the idea of a counter-shadaloo group that isn't necessarily good or evil is possibly cool, not nearly enough can be done with it without any sort of DLC story to expand/explain it]
Yep, that's a major issue with SFV: it kept on adding characters, but there was no culmination (post-Season 1), and that's pretty bad. Like, how in the hell is G supposed to be the final boss of SFV when he doesn't appear as one anywhere? Then there are many win-quotes that sound too weird, as if they're from the future
@@NinjaWorldWarrior16 Never play Guilty Gear or King of Fighters if something like this makes you confused, you think has too many characters introduced, and makes little sense because those two games mostly KOF will hurt your brain lol. Don't even get me started on the convoluted plot of Blazblue lol. Japanese fighting games always have complcated stories that make no sense and never progress and when they do its confusing. Look at all the people who absolutely hate the Tekken 7 story. Making Akuma cannon to the universe was the most stupid mistake of all fighting games in the way they told it and they way the story went, how they made heihatchi somehow have feelings, and so on was just dumb in al ways. Then the story endings of all the roster were joke endings of 30 seconds...legit Tekken 7 was a complete disaster. But yeah japan makes bad stories for fighters. So SFV actually makes the most sense in terms of story compared to most lol. The final boss of V is Bison and sorta necali. G appears after Bison is killed as like a sign of the world impending doom. Like Shinock appears after Shao Khan loses and dies.

Decided to come back to this video after all that SF6 information, you did pretty good.
The only real gripe I have here is the sheer lack of Street Fighter 3. Like Yun and Yang feels very future generation to me.

With these two i like his idea of Lin going too find Chun Li
Why not add these two too the roster by 1st fighting each one in her story arc as now they older and know each other thur Chun Li.
Them wanted too test her as they planned too go with her but too also show off their new style they have created with moves learnt from Fei Long n Chun li something like that.
Also if you play her story you can play matches solo,two or three each taking a round since they will be together thur Lin Story arc.

Luke isn't Captain Commando, but if his last name is Carlisle he could be his father, since Captain Commando's name is Mars Carlisle. Would be interesting to know Maya's a.k.a. Crimson Viper's last name as well since her Battle Suit is like a version, with less advanced tech, of Captain Commando's.

I really like the idea of G and Q being part of some organization and the agents are given a single letter. I think it would be doubly cool if when members are working together they spell out something, which feeds into more of the narrative. Kind of like a team RWBY thing.
For a 2nd episode of "Let's make a Sequel" how about a Bloody Roar Reboot, and possibly a Primal Rage remake/reboot.

it’s nice to see how DIFFERENT SF6 has actually turned out compared to the whole idea of a “reset”. this new generation is actually well put together and THANK GOD we’re past the Bison saga, they fixed Luke’s design, and the game is GREAT for having gone thru several bad builds.
ok only thing i'd change is a detail with sean. give him some electric moves like his sister. have him mix the ken and laura moveset.
I actually figured he'd have Laura in the game and she'd be running the dojo he was supposed to inherent while he went off to continue training with Ken because he preferred that.
Maybe his super would be basket ball hadouken surrounded by lightning, just like how Ken adds fire to his moves
I don't really think Sean should have just pure electricity as his elemental attack. It's a Blanka thing already and now Laura has it. Sean would probably be running it into the ground. For a while I've toyed with the idea of him having a thing called 'Solar Sistema.' Basically...where he channels energy from his solar plexus and into his fist (or foot) and it makes it glow hot like a sun. This 'Sun' fist/foot would leave behind heat trails that stun an enemy a bit quicker than other fighters can. (A nod to his basketball taunt being able to make you stun people faster) Since Sean ISN'T a master...in normal mode he can only channel one fist or foot at a time. _Sort of making him look like Iron Fist when he uses specials._ But when he goes into a V-Trigger state (Or...whatever super state) he can briefly use it on all four of his limbs. Emphasis on 'brief' because it would REALLY increase his stun effectiveness.
Sean's a cool character, to be real. He kind of deserves his own spin on his master's technique. And that's something that copies Ken but is pretty unique to him alone.

@@chakradarrat8832 That's also cool but that's a very Ryu thing. However if Ryu sort of has a new signature attack due to his training in Senjutsu with Oro? It might be slick to see Sean pick it up for his Hadou Burst. Kind of like showing he's at the old level Ryu was at, you know?
I would have Ryu offer to train Sakura then ask if she remembers the fundamentals. Smash cut to the days of Alpha where the tutorial starts. With each new section of the tutorial, we move forward to their next meeting in 2, 4 and 5; before getting one last lesson set during the timeskip for them most advanced stuff, capped off with a proper match with Ryu to put what you've learned into practice.
@Lee. Considering she's now gone right back to fighting everyone she meets, like Thorgi said, it's most likely that Capcom hit the undo button on that plot point.
@Lee I feel like people misinterpret this angle of Sakura's story a lot anyway. She never really said she wanted to give up fighting to begin with. She just realized she wanted a family...pretty seemingly mostly with Ryu. This is also probably a reference to show that she seemingly has a kid with him in the end of MvsC1. Considering it's *Ryu* that she desires to have a family with, she's not starting that family anytime SOON and she's likely just realizing _her true feelings for him._ Not that she wants to full stop on all of her hobbies and passions...just that this IS something she wants in the future.
One thing, that I would add, let Akuma let completly loose in his fight with Ryu and go Oni, so that Ryu is entering his supermode too. That would be awesome

I feel it’s highly unlikely anything will go backwards with SF, it SEEMS with the new people working on SF are ready to move forward and Luke is really the proof I have outside of the excitement they had in regards to revealing Luke
I agree, with all the work the new devs are putting in and trying to wrangle, I feel that while things have been messy, they're trying to clean everything up as best as they can so that the future installments can be clearer. With all the focus on the future they mentioned in the stream with Luke, I do think that it's a march forward ultimately to get past SF3's arc.
God, I wish Capcom actually cared about Street Fighter's story enough to do *literally any* of this.
They already did half of it, it just didn't really land well with audiences the first time around.

If the big bad is meant to be an apocalypse type complete with four horsemen, and two of those are G and Q, and the other two are J (Juri) and L (Chun Li), and the previous entry in the timeline was Street Fighter Alpha. The villain HAS to be named Ω (Omega).
Man, I'm in such complete adoration of your ideas with Sakura being the protag, Sean and Karin being the other two main characters, Ryu as Sakura's full master, Ryu's final confrontation with Akuma, Chun-Li and Lin-Fei's stuff, and the antags being Z, Q and G. FANTASTIC stuff!

I've felt that the series going forward should have been set around Yang, Yung, Sean & Sakura. Probably the best way to accomplish this is a new animated movie or series focused on them to push the devs in that direction. Kinda how the street fighter 2 animated movie did the same.
but Capcom decided Sakura will retire to have babies rather than continue training, so moving forward she'll be out of the story

@@onewingedren2228 Well along with being a Green Beret aka a Army Ranger, she's going to have combat training from both her dad and Cammy White can you imagine how deadly a fighting style that a fusion of Guile's fighting style and Cammy's fighting style would be as like the example given Amy would be able to do a Spiral Arrow and cancel it into a Flash Kick.
I like Ed. I don’t like what they did with him but I still like him. Also he’s not evil or trying to take over the world, his group is called Neo-Shadaloo and it’s a special task force meant to help people and undo the damage old Shadaloo did to the world.
I love Ed, he's cool and has the best theme. I wanna see the two other members of Neo-Shadaloo like the Gorilla and the guy with the knives and Falke. Would be cool to dive into that and the lore of G and Q and possible other members of the alphabet that may exist.
And now the actual Street Fighter 6 has been announced.
Go whole hog on Juri's new eye being a Seth thing. Make it his yin-yang ball. Make a mint selling contact lenses. Oh, and surely instead of Z, it should be Vi, right? Either that or Ywach, apparently.
This video was great, by the way. Like, a genuinely good time. Kudos.
And to go further beyond, have her replace the Feng Shui Engine with the Tandem Engine itself (but miniaturized to fit her eye socket), and give her Sharingan-like properties with it, symbolically making her a less unique fighter in her pursuit of power as Thorgi proposed, something that she is hating inside (making her bounce back between Chaotic Evil and Chaotic Neutral in her inner-dilemma)?
Also, I can her Ultra have her suck up the fighter into said eye like Seth's Ultra from SF4, but rather than just spit them out right after, the scene cuts to where she herself is beating her opponent within the inch of their life before spitting them out of her eye and into the screen.
That's my two cents on it, at least. What do you think?

Let's see the amount of "good idea" it is to make Sakura the new protagonist:
Loved among fans: She's the most popular character according to the poll.
Long time cast member: We've had her since Alpha.
Being a good replacement for Ryu: She'd LITERALLY be so if she'd be his protage.
Personality: She actually has a fleshed-out one compared to Ryu.
Lovablity: She doesn't seem NEARLY as dead-serious as Ryu. Plus, she'd be a lot more aproachable. And she'd probably get more character development as well.
Gender: If Sakura was introduced in SF6, then the internet would explode with rage since "THEY REPLACED RYU WITH A GIRL!!! REEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!", but since Sakura has been around for a while and the fanbase loves her, it'd be "SAKURA IS THE NEW HEROINE!!! SQWEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" Plus, Capcom would get free browny points for having a strong female protagonist WITHOUT shoehorning one in.
So yeah, I think Sakura becoming the new protagonist and Ryu becoming an old mentor side character would be a brilliant idea for everyone.

I would rather have Chun Li or Ken as the main Character, i know that they always were part of SF Trinity but if it's to put Ryu as a secondary character i think that a journey focused in them won't piss off people

@@onewingedren2228 Having Chun-Li as the MC would mean Ryu isn't even a secondary character. Their stories don't intertwine.
I love the 'Super Saiyan' idea - but let's add onto that, give it the term "Limit Breaker" - It's a bit cliche, but even a casual knows exactly what that means and it could even be used in advertising for the game. "BREAK YOUR LIMITS" (Although I think that's already been done...)
But hey, one thing I would like to see is a Tekken crossover event - Like, Akuma is a character in Tekken 7's Story mode, no real origin for how he's a part of that continuity but he's technically a part of the Tekken universe in some way/shape/form, so why not do the same for a Tekken character? Why not include someone like Kazuya or Jin play a part in Akuma's DLC story with the Street Fighter origin of the Devil Gene being 'similar' to the Satsui no Hado (as alluded to in Street Fighter X Tekken) and have one of them try to take on Akuma, Ryu, his student, etc. as a sort of third party to disrupt everything?

IDEA: The whole "back to zero" thing with Rose is just a way to tie back around _to_ her first appearance back in Alpha. Nothing to do with a time travel reboot.
Thank you for including Sean. I was sad he wasn’t included in V. I hope they keep his basketball aspects. Namely the taunt and what I call the alley oop DP from SFIII second impact. I was not a fan of his two handed DP in third strike.
Alley Oop Dragon Smash was the best shoryuken they ever created. It was one of the things that largely drew me towards Sean in the first place. Only upgrade (In animation) that 3rd Strike gave him with the 'One, two' ground punch the Sean tackle did. That was street af.
Okay, a lot for me to unpack here that I gotta address.
1. This sounds awesome and makes me want to play through the whole franchise, even though I know this is all hypothetical, I like seeing an evolution to a franchise like this.
2. The idea of Juri having some new eye that sucks up people and copy them is creepy and it kinda works. Imagine her using other fighters as a fuel source for this new Seth eye of hers.
3. Making Sakura the new star not only mixes things up, but doing so might also make her more of a mainstay in future crossovers. Ryu’s main Marvel rival is Wolverine, having Sakura and X-23 be rivals would be extra nice. Heck, if they are planning a CvS3, maybe Sakura’s evolution will finally prompt SNK to continue Rock Howard’s story for a bit of synergy with Capcom.
4. This was a great video and I can’t wait for more. I thought a video on Dissidia Final Fantasy would be fun, but considering that they always use the same 20 characters and then some, maybe it would be better for this show instead of Build the Roster.

Dissidia is tricky since you can't take away that many characters crom there since you need to have all the protagonists and all the main villains so that's already 30 characters by this point.
My biggest hopes for SF6 are that the story finally takes place after SF3, and for them to include Guy, Sodom, and C. Viper, those three characters definitely deserve a comeback.
Man, for all of 5's faults it at least made an attempt at ending SF 2's storyline and bridging the gap to the events of Street Fighter 3, to just go back to Street Fighter 2 again for the umpteenth time would just be so frustrating; When I saw Luke, his MMA moveset, and his early 2000's MMA scene design coupled with G., Urien, Gill, 11, and Bison's death, I figured he'd be some kind of rival to Sean in 6 and that it could be set in/after SF 3.

Also, I feel like what SFV intended for Ed CAN work (and be used in conjunction to what you had in mind). But it requires a lot of context in between what we've seen already. Kinda like one of those "running away from your fate will only draw you closer to it" stories. Ed tries to move away from what he was made for but it eventually comes to a head that it can't be ignored anymore. But that leads to Ed realizing that this isn't for him but would prefer to do it in his own style. Enter your idea. Seems fine right?

Master Ryu: should have sage powers from Oro. I like the idea of Ryu having an OP trigger that powers him up with the Power of Nothingness and doing some dope moves.
New Generation: Menat, Rashid, Karin, Sakura, Sean, Makoto, Yun, Yang. --- I like the idea of having the next gen fighters be the main characters coming back. Then just having a few classic fighters as DLCs if we really should have them.
I really like this but the fact that Alex isn't one of the protagonists doesn't really sit well with me, considering he was built to be a protagonist and he still has a lot to learn about being a street fighter plus he kind of has a connection to Ryu in street fighter 3 original could be expanded upon, but I like the ideas in this I like the whole emphasis on the new generation aspect like in 3rd strike I just wish Alex was apart of that ( and maybe the new three faces of street fighter could be Sakura, Alex, and Sean)

Oh yeah I forgot Fire God Liu Kang's Aftermath Story Mode Ending is the canon ending and it has the heroic deity rebooting the timeline to the time when the Great Kung Lao was about to start training for the MK tournament he wins.

When sf4 was in development. They stated bison was alive during 3. He just wasn't "around" for the plot. What if bison absorbed rose after seeing what ever this greater threat is and masters his good and evil energies becoming a wild card character instead of the main villain. Like doctor doom
SF3 was overshadowed by the Marvel crossover games, but now they can push forward with the series without issue. Honestly, now wouldn't be a bad time to merge the fighting game series together even more. Rival Schools should have more of a presence in the SF universe, and adding Darkstalkers characters isn't too left-field of an idea anymore. Or if they really need to send Rose back in time, then she can create a Flashpoint/multiverse situation where the events are completely different and maybe still incorporate other fighting games into the universe.

I got a fanfiction for sf6. A young bullied oblivious kid enters Dan's dojo to learn martial arts having seen and admired Dan's home video tutorials; except this kid is a genius, so he basically is taught by Dan but demonstrates his techniques in a far superior fashion, of course Dan will discredit the kid in that he still has a long way to go. After a while of training a new world warrior tournament happens, but their dojo isn't doing good as usual, so to again advertise the dojo Dan is persuaded by his apprentice into them joining the tournament, to which sets off their story. As the tournament progresses he somehow taps into the hado when he encounters a rival, or boss, or having seen his sensei get beat. At the end he encounters Ryu and learns about the dark hado.. SF7 then moves on from there.
I love that Aaron is wearing the same kind of getup as Charlie from that one episode of Its always sunny. And the marker lines and pinned up photos definitely re-enforce that.

Ed is actually the leader of a group (neo shadolou) that is trying to save people impacted by shadolou. Essentially they're blue umbrella from resident evil.
But the idea you have is nice, though.
I want to see the return of unplayable "champions" like in SF2 "World Warrior." It just made beating the arcade more special, you HAD to get past Balrog, Vega and Sagat to win. They can become playable in a later revision (ala SF2 "Champion Edition"). I also liked the "personal rival fight" seen in SF alpha 3 and SF4.
Also, it needs more Cammy. Capcom makes a lot of merchandise (pvc statues, action figures, etc.) off of this character (alongside Chun Li) and even just added her to Fortnite, it would be silly not to include her in the main roster. Plus the whole mystery with the dolls and Vega hasn't fully played out yet. It seems Vega may even be working for someone other than Bison.
Honestly for the games grappler, I think it’s perfectly fine to bring Alex back. Maybe say he learnt a few new moves from Zangief or something and is going out to get the rematch that was teased in street fighter 3

Oh my god thank you. I don't even follow street fighter that much, and I had the exact same idea of having Sakura be the main character. I love Sakura so much, and this is exactly what I've wanted. I didn't like the idea of Sakura simply settling down and not being a fighter. I don't mind Sakura maturing, but it felt like it was a waste of her potential to just demote her to simply being a love interest before even showing more of her personal journey.
The thing is, Sakura basically wants to be Ryu's top student & his future wife. XP
Maybe instead of having the main villain Z use Psycho Power, have him use Soul Power and be a villainous example of a Lawful Good character. This could even be a way to help flesh out Necalli as a guardian of earth (True Neutral) whose purpose is to kill any threats powerful enough to threaten the balance. I just love it when alignment is played with in unusual ways.
Gill was already a Lawful Good character. Same with G, to a degree.

While I definitely don't mind the current roster and how they worked into World Tour mode, I do like some of the ideas seen here if we did get another story involving the bad guys (though I'm hoping for DLC Story involving Neo Shadaloo because despite the whole "search for strength" story, I still want to see where Neo Shadaloo goes and Ken taking down JP so he can go back to work (and be a family man again) for better or worse. LOL

Bruh we need this asap and the story can be original in where we focus on Future Trunks and Vegeta aiming to restore the time line of Future Trunks with the Super Dragonballs. Thus putting them in contention with Champa (and by extension Hit, Cabba, Cale, Caulifla, Dr Rotta loool etc) I think this would be a cool way to correct the mistakes of the goku black arc and give Future Trunks the ending he deserves.

Because it wouldn't make sense storyline wise for Mel to be on the roster especially given the timeline we're going with, in SFV's main story when we saw Mel he was 2 years old meaning after a 6-year timeskip Mel would be 8 years old and just starting his training under his dad and Sean.

It would be an awesome joke character though. He is ridiciously weak, all his special moves are things like flicking boogers and using a slingshot, and to top it off all his supers are just his dad coming in to do it for him.

Agreed. But I’d actually like to see SAKURA appear in a Darkstalkers game and have a story mode focused around her and Lilith. After all, Alpha 3 did have Sakura curious on what her true power was really like after her fight with Akuma, plus Dark Sakura was built up since the Alpha 2 Sakura manga to be Sakura’s true potential, so maybe have Lilith come out and help Sakura awaken and master that potential.

I still think Sakura should be living a normal life. One of the biggest appeals to me is that she is a working class hero, like Spider-Man. Whether she's trying to balance school-life with her fantastical double life, or her work-life with her fighting life, or school-work-and fighting, the troubles she has to endure to do what she loves and do what she needs to actually exist in this world make her very relatable to me. I think her becoming a gym teacher and then eventually a mother, all while trying to maintain her passions, is a very good idea. I have this idea of her intro in SF7 or something being handing off her newborn to her partner and then running into her starting position, lol.

I saw a video that pointed out how most of the characters in Guilty Gear Xrd have blonde hair but they are so well designed that you would never notice normally . Wish sf5 was like that
