1:48 - I've seen a few videos like this where an area seems to get 'supercharged' and it's cloud to ground strike after cloud to ground strike. Like those other videos, there is minimal rain and almost no wind. Also, thank you to the person who filmed this who kept calm, got great shots, and didn't yell "WOAH DUDE, DID YOU SEE THAT! WOAH WOAAAAAH! DUDE!" throughout the video.
I once was sleeping and my neighbors house got struck about 10-15feet from my head. When it’s that close you don’t hear thunder you hear the high pitched Flashbang sound from video games, and feel intense vibrating through your body.
Same thing happened to me too, except it was right over my head. I heard the zing sound and smelled the sulfur. I was so nauseous and jittery afterwards.
Fun fact: at about 0:14 You'll see what looks like a vague flash as the boom reaches the recorder, that is not a distant or lightning flash that is off screen that coincidentally matched the sound but the cloud that is being ripped out of the moist air by the negative pressure behind the shock wave produced by the initial strike. You're seeing the freaking sound it is so "loud" the shock wave!!
That first one already had me hooked (and freaked out), I was wondering how it could get any more extreme than that one. Well, apparently, it can pretty easily
7:08 is really bizarre, how you don't hear much reverb afterward. Also, the part starting at 7:30 sounds like several positive lightning strikes. It's one of the most oddly satisfying thunderclaps for some reason
That first one was definitely a positive strike, based off seeing the bolt with no branches, and the shockwave thunderclap - aka the iconic "bang" sound that positive lightning produces.

When we got to my parent's summer home just as i was trying to get out of our truck lightning struck, i couldn't tell if it hit our truck or my parents place. Rolling down the wind5to get some air we heard a buzzing sound. We were sure it was us! Panicking i called out to ny folks and then realized it was the blowing rain into the bug zapper! For 15 yrs i was terrified of storms until one day after my divorce, i was standing looking out of my 3rd floor apt. window and it all seemed so beautiful. From that day on i relish the sights and sounds of a storm no matter how intense it is. God makes neat stuff! 😊😊😊
1:17 That was a very lucky guy not to be hit! 😵. 3:21 even in Netherlands i've once experience such extreme thunderstorm in my life back on may 31, 2008. The only time i was affraid as an adult about thunderstorm at night with blinding lights and heavy rainstorms came from Germany. 13:40 i love that face and running behavior haha, beautiful lightning strikes there. 16:21 WOW! I didn’t even think the video was real when I first came across it. I’ve only seen a storm like this 5 times in my life. Once in 2004, once again in 2007, 2 times in 2011 when I lived in Vermont, and one last time in 2014.

1:02 I thought it was interesting that the smoke detectors went off when the lightning hit nearby. According to AI, thunderstorms can set off fire alarms or smoke detectors because lightning causes a strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that can be picked by any conductor, including unshielded wires. This could have caused them to be set off.
There's also radiation beam detectors that go off when the amount of radiation hitting the sensor is lessened by smoke in its path, however heat can disrupt there path also in changing the density/refraction of the air causing some to miss. I beleive high pressure waves can do this also. (Super loud sounds) Not saying it wasn't the transformer effect but just thought you'd like to think about it.
