As someone new to chess, I really really enjoy when you explain why a move is a check mate. I really do not like when it is just assumed a pawn will now be a queen and then in the next X moves this is automatically a check mate. I sometimes just cannot follow some of these other chess recap videos. Please always remember there groups of us just trying to learn and keep up.
Hi Alessia, thanks for these extended play-throughs with your thought process. I'm happy to see that my intuition is now almost always matching the "correct" move to make in the early part of the game.
1100-1200 is right in my ratings range and it's EXTREMELY helpful to watch you deal with these common openings. I see them a LOT and often find myself in trouble very early in the game. Thank you!
I haven't played regularly in years, and set a 1200-1400 rating on my chess app, then smoked every player, every time with little effort. If she's a grandmaster or even a FIDE master, 1200 Elo is basically like beating a wet noodle in a fistfight. I'm a 1500 player at best, but 1200 to 1500 is a big difference in fundamentals and endgame. I get that it's just an example, but she is never in any danger of losing a game in these situations. They're basically just crash test dummies at anything 300 points below your level. This like near half her level.
@@jameskirk3 What if - and I'm just speculating here - she's playing at this level not to pound weaker players, but to help her viewers become better at chess? Wouldn't that just be wild?
in 17:46 you take the pawn and i think its actually mistake because after white take f pawn with the bishop if king eat then queen h5, and then white get the knight back with much better position and maybe even can get the pawn.
I love your personality and teaching style. I subscribed and am binging as many of your videos as possible! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this chess content.
@@Alessia_SanteramoHi there Alessia, big fan of your chess content from India, your videos have helped me improve a lot especially with the black pieces however, I would like to request you to make a video on how to counter the tricks used by our opponents similar to which you mostly use in your videos, sometimes these moves have counters which can be found after giving it a thought, but they also have counters for those moves and it reaches to a point where instead of focusing on "offense is the best defense" for countering, we don't have any choice but to defend, and the opponents find a way to win even after giving it the best possible counter.
Very recognizable. Indeed, stop those tricks! If you try to win with tricks then you will stagnage in your learning and the opponent might fall for it a few times but then they learn from their mistakes and the tricks don't work anymore.
The Scholar's Mate starting 17:13. I know that you are trying to make it exciting with the stupid move Nxe4. But! It is not simple chess when you don't develop pieces and don't castle early. You play an excellent tactical game with pieces well connected so that nothing is left hanging. One of these days I might get to 900...
@@OtakuMilit I do, atm 1650 elo and about 80% winrate with e4 e5 Qh5 as white. If white knows just a little bit theory, at worst you'd get into an equal position.
C5 in my opinion is better. Can transpose into dragon french terrasch modern different variations of sicillian. Also the a6 move can chase away the bishop. So i totally recommend c5 for players who don't like the center game with a lot of thinking and possibilities. C5 is solid and pretty easy to play.
Any chance for a video about the pirc against e4 and the KID against d4? Hard to play, but they can be fun for black, leading to some dense positions. Might be good for developing the middle game, kind of like playing the London is good for that on the white side. (I know, everyone hates the London, but it's solid and I don't want to play e4 every single game. Plus it really does help improve your middle game, I think.)
Hi :) In the first game you played 4.Qf3-Ng6. Perfectly fine, but what about 4. Qf3 f5 5. exf5 Nd4 looking for a fork between the king and the rook? Is it dangerous?
E4 simply E6 or even C5 are better moves C5 can become a queens gambit and E6 the Sicilian C5 also can be the London with knight C4. You can also capitalize on if they move the queen early with the Franco Sicilian with knight C4 and knight B6 check and you can capture the rook most of the time they will waste a move with getting the queen back to the starting position of D1 or moving the king to D1 if they move the king to D1 they can’t castle any more. The closed Sicilian can be hard for low Elo players to understand but E4 and E5 have many different lines black can play Petrov opening or even the Ruy Lopez. Petrov being probably the easier to understand for low Elo you can use Italian concepts in the Petrov opening. Biggest rule to learn early queen development is not good all the time. The queen should only move after minor pieces and pawn development of your opening remember Knight A4 can attack the bishop on C6 as well. Low Elo should just learn how to develop there opening and not worry about openings tactics or positions
In game 7 (around 39:30) you said you couldn't castle because the bishop would be unprotected. But if you castle and the queen then takes the unprotected bishop, you could pin the queen against the king with the rook. Do you think this would've been a worthwhile trade at this point in the game? (bishop and rook for a queen)
why do you always only play against weak 1100 elo opponents? It's not an art to beat them because they're bad ones. And your videos are repetitive, it gets boring.
