wow, amazing. rest in peace with whatever tractor you want to drive everyday Don Fanetti! what an awesome collection, and thank you very much Don for keeping these girls around and dressing them up. and thank you Machinery Pete for the coverage!
Great collection! I can admire big collections like this but I wouldn’t want a collection this big, I think it’s a pain in the but to keep 5 tractors going let alone 50 tractors. A lot of people that complain about collections being split up or these tractors going back to work also prob are the ones that sell tractors that haven’t ran in 20 or 30 years. They are tractors, run them!
What a collection, brings back many memory's. We started farming with two WC's, one was the Arm Strong Crank and the other an electric start. Had the two bottom trip plows, trip mounted two row cultivator and two row mounted picker. Then added a WD,, D17, 185, 210 and a 7080 as the acreage grew, in NW Ohio. My dad a mechanic at Gulf Oil and I, over hauled the WD with a different cam and higher compression pistons. It would pull a three bottom plow in 3rd gear if you wanted to. Never had problem with any of them. What a part of history with Allis-Chalmers, that doesn't in my estimation, get the attention it deserved. Memories!
My Grandpa has an 8010 four wheel drive a 185 which only has 4000 original hours on it a d17 series 3 and a wd45 which he restored from the frame up. I grew up around the orange and have never doubted the reliability or power of these machines hope to own one myself one of these days
We have a 1984 6070 with around 4000 original hours. It was bought brand new around 1988 from Scott Machinery company in Hillsboro, Oregon. It's used as the main work horse on a small family dairy farm here in Tillamook, Oregon. After 15 years it needed some body structure added in underneath to stiffen things up as it wasn't really designed stout enough for rough, dairy farm field work. Mechanically it's been solid, we've never had any major issues other than putting clutches in it a couple years ago. My dad grew up around AC's, so he loves this tractor.
Isn't there a Indian casino up there? I welded. At Allis Chalmers for 7 years in Laporte, In. From 1976 to 1983. Implement division. My last job was on the 8000 series cabs. Loved it the whole time I was there. I was 22 when I hired in. We had a high employment at 3,200 hourly .
Damnit... I had a AC 6060 2wd cab tractor. She was a little rough from being used to run an air-blast pesticide sprayer in apple orchards for about 20 years, but despite the body being a little rough and crusty in the cab areas, everything important worked fine. Instead of cleaning her all up and re-painting her, I sold it a few years ago when money was kinda tight. I sure wish I hadn't.
Please don't think I'm slamming the guy. I'm a life long AC fan. I can't image such a collection. But that warehouse blows me away. I know how big these tractors are. The building looks plenty roomy for more tractors and its size dwarfs the tractors. Good job feller.
It's nice to see well cared for and restored machines, but to me it feels wrong when I see them all clean and just for show. I've spent what seems a million hours on a 190 and it would make me very sad to ever find out she had stopped working and had become a show tractor.
No kidding, for what these things cost they must have had just a massive disposable income to not need to run thousands of hours on the ones they were working.
WOW...that is amazing. Beautiful machines there. WI heritage right there. Still in the state where they were made too! Sad to see it's broken up now. But hopefully they all went to good homes. I'd sure love to care for some of them ahaha. I realize as I watch this that I have a serious tractor addiction haha...
Pete u must go to sheron springs ny mcfattons tractor part bone yard it is amazing must be every old tractor ever made the sell new and used but the bone yard must be 10 acres and 30-40 years old
Allis Chalmers is now AGCO, = Allis Gleaning Co. or Corp. With the many tractor lines that AGCO has bought out, I may be correct in saying that AGCO is today the worlds largest producer of tractors.
Awesome, good to see something besides green Hey Greg, you ever been to Paquettes I think that's correct, he has a IH museum in florida? Always wanted to go.
Ive been there on my way back from indian shores its a really nice collection and Stew's a great guy to know. And he has every model made of the golden demonstrator tractors im pretty sure its the only full collection of authentic demonstrators in the world.
Machinery Pete you should visit Paquette's because he has a full collection of authentic golden demonstrator tractors im pretty sure its the only full collection in the world.
Some of the 70 series remind me of are fiat wich is what heston was made by before fiat heston came out and their the best thing ive used but never ran a alis doitz
Lindo tractores yo tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con esta marca de tractores Allí Chalmers allá por el año 68 ho 70 más o menos y me encanto muy lindo gracias
Truly a shame to see what a man put together torn apart and sold why not see if someone would buy all of them a shame I was raised on a farm with Allis Chalmers I started out on a D-17 gas I loved that old tractor
In 50 years will gasoline or diesel even be produced to run those tractors? The next collectors will be low serial number robotic all electrically driven tractors after they are replaced by vertical hydroponics farms.
My dad just had our 8030 repainted and it looks brand new and people are very impressed. We don't tell them it's Kubota tractor orange and case IH white! The dealer could no longer get us the AC colors. No one can tell
Tractor Supply Co. sells AC orange. Not sure why you can't find it. Manufacturers such as Valspar & Majic make it, just to name a couple. We use it as an alternative to Case orange, and Kubota orange. LOL
Why didn't fiat take off in the USA. Or hesston fiat. There were huge here in Ireland in the 80's 90,s it was the first tractor people bought new during the boom. They were legendary in the the bog and wet ground and great for pulling. The fiat 110-90 blue tradition sells more for then what it cost new now.
The old double didgets where best looking when is was kid and me and dad started colecting tractors d19 was my favorit with diesel of corse the 4 didget like 7045 and around their they look good with cab but with out cabs they are almost ugly looking that nose lookes good with cab but with out the cab they are ugly as shit my nabor hade one even the old d21 where freaky
conantdog, this guy is not a normal situation, I suggest that you educate yourself on reality before making stupid comments, and please remember our government has whats called "the cheap food policy" that through many channels is designed to suppress the value of commodities. So please think and learn before you comment, its ignorant people like you that shoot comments off the hip that make my blood boil.
