Absolutely amazing scene... this show is criminally underrated...great acting, production values and effects that are second to none, well developed characters, and an intriguing story
I'm only watching this series because I'm a fan of the band Garbage and because of Shirley Manson. I just had to see how she plays that role and it's actually great. :) Shirley Manson playing a terminator is just so badass. Of course Lena Heady as Sarah Connor is great too and that was a second reason for me. She's known from Game Of Thrones and is a great actress. Summer Glau is awesome too as a terminator. So I'm really enjoying this series. Of course the first two Terminator movies are the best but I think this series is better than most of the newer movies from this franchise.
Saw this a few days after it aired... feels like a lifetime ago now. This is probably the best scene in the entire show. For clarification: the build up in the beginning was she posed as a urinal a few episodes before so the whole time that guy is going bathroom, you think she's going to appear. The suspense was so good knowing that. But it still works without it because of how quick she kills that guy!
Damn good singer, Damn good actress. Its the best of both worlds. Plus shes portraying the upgrade of the T-1000, which i personally believe is the greatest movie villain ever created.
I'm the only who think the T-1000 and T-1001 are the most scary, silencious, powerful, and effective terminators ever created? I think the T-3000 is more easy to exterminate, nanobots are no excents of damage if you shot in a fast moment, but metal liquid is technically impossible to destroy (you can´t have a sea of magma in your house). Sorry for my english.
But T1000s are capable of being destroyed if you have the right tools. I presume incendiary rounds, termite, and plasma can injure them and they can be finished off with a sufficient amount of termite.

If the plasma cannon had anywhere close to the destructive power and temperature needed to kill a T-1000, we would have seen the Titanium in the T-850 deformed after it was hit. It charred the skin, but it's structural integrity about its skeleton was intact. In the steel mill, the T-1000 had a far better temperature regulation to resist extreme temperatures. The 800 goes dark almost instantly while the T-1000 thrashes for half a minute at least before succumbing to the damage. Therefore, by deductive reasoning... If they skeleton of the 850 was only affected structurally in the skin in terms of thermal damage, it is going to be extremely lacking in what it takes to cripple a T-1000. The time displacement bubble where the TX emerges from shows more extreme heat than the cannon in the movie. When the TX blasts cars on the road, they explode, but no sign of melting. Also, the T-850 blasts the TX with a rocket, which ends up forcing the "plasma burst" to engulf the TX... And yet her liquid metal shows no sign of damage even though by volume it is far less needed to conduct such heat. So I'm not convinced by the actual movie feats that she has any kind of signisignificant advantage over the T1000, at least not the kind that a 1000 couldn't mitigate with its superior powers of infiltration and ability to resist extreme temperatures for good amounts of time.
Well ,Catherine Weaver was working for The Resistance but killed humans mercilessly , coldly looked down upon them and was willing to sacrifice her own human daughter if need be to complete her mission so technically she`d be considered an anti-heroine .
I think it`s a testament to John`s hacking skills that he was somehow able to reprogram a Terminator as cruel and bloodthirsty as the T-1001 to serve The Resistance .
So the build up here is quite interesting. I just rewatched this episode after almost 5 years ago. The terminator she has programmed with the Babylon project has now taken over the building and begun scanning through the network. It found an unsecured line phone call regarding Coltan metal. First the terminator questioned Katherine if it knew of coltan to which she says no. He then brings up the fact that her company owns a large percent of coltan mines basically calling her out. But the knowledge of her metal basically being stolen caused her to go to this location, slaughter everyone and destroy the wearhouse. The T-1001 now has made enemies with the gray company known as Kaliba who tried to kill Sarah and who apparently is creating drones snd has both humans and terminators working for them, and Zeira Corp is their main competition snd threat. Katherine aka T-1001 just did Sarah Connor’s work, unfortunately for Sarah, earlier she had gotten shot and wounded by one of the workers. Katherine isn’t finished, she knew of one of the workers missing and she wanted him dead so she sent Mr. Murch to hound the family funeral snd find the man to assasinate him but wound up being killed himself by Winston and the other man.

Thumbs up if you thought when they held the camera on the mirror for a second that the T1001's face was going to extend out from it like the T1000s did from the floor in T2 (or the T1001s face from the urinal when Catherine Weaver first revealed herself as what she really is).
Maybe he didn't; SKYNET's creation of the T1000 (and by extension, the T1001) was a last-ditch gamble on its part, the reason for that being that due to the Series 1000's unique liquid metal construction, SKYNET had no way of inserting any fail-safe mechanism to ensure that the 1000 kept to SKYNET's directives; in short, if the T1000 suddenly decided it didn't want to do SKYNET's bidding, there was no way possible for SKYNET to bring it to heel (no 'read-only' mode, like in other Terminators).
I kind of want powers like that, not the shapshifting power but the immunity to most types of damages and also the liquid metal blades, i could easily slash, pierce and kill multiple women and men, i also love that there is a feature to extend the blades so i can easily kill my enemies if they try to run or escape. These powers look so fun and her liquid metal form looks kind of creepy but cool.
TAK001 you cant take a T-1001 out that way. In Terminator 2 Arnold levelled a shotgun at Robert Patricks head and blew his skull in 2 but he reformed and so would she. They don't have a chip like older models and the guards would STILL DIE
The one thing i find a little questionable... is that when she stabbed the two people at 1:43 she didn't "shrink" at all considering that she probably had to use a significant volume of her liquid metal to extend her arms that far as a weapon... even if they were hollow. I know it would probably look funny though...
I haven’t seen the Terminator TV show so I’m only judging according to this scene and I totally love it. I mean it’s still fast-food Terminator, not hi-class Terminator. But it’s Shirley at her most entertaining (and not short of sassiness either)!
Both. She's working for the good guys buts she's way too arrogant, cocky (In a quiet way) and sadistic. I mean even though she was a good guy technically it's not past her to just kill anyone who mistakenly upset her but had nothing to do with her enemies without any remorse

Technically, whilst the T1000 can turn into sharp objects, it can't turn into "something bigger". So, her blades at 1:45 make no sense... where is the extra metal to make such long blades? Her arm turning into something far longer than the arm without sacrificing another piece of its body/metal is something a T1000/T1001 can't do. This is why in T2 he always uses his finger/part of his hand to turn into very thin but longer blades.

They're not *supposed* to-- T-1000s are Infiltrator units meant to penetrate into the Resistance as SKYNET's agents; that means that the better they can pass for human, the better for them and their mission-- *looking* like a robot would tip off the humans immediately that there is a Terminator in their midst. And though she may look less robotic than the first T-1000, she definitely seems to be a much, much more effective/efficient Terminator than he EVER was. My opinion of course, but still...

Walter Krieger Doesn't work like that, just like it can't make guns or explosives out of its own body, a usb would be the same thing. T2 explains it better than me when John asks the T-800 why the t-1000 can't turn into a gun or explosives.

This T-1001 split parts of itself off and disguised them as animals in key places so it was always monitoring certain locations. Unlike the T-1000 which can only function as a single entity. The T-1001 is also quicker at making constructs like blades and has a far greater range. The Catherine Wever T-1001 also has upgraded interpersonal skills compared to a normal terminator thought this modification was probably self-administered.

Shirley Manson does such a great job here. It's really amazing. I just hope this show can return next year soooooooo much.

This is why Skynet didn't produce many T1000s aren't programmable.

Not only is liquid metal literally impossible but a T-X actually managed to kill a T-1000 instantly when she shot it with her plasma cannon

T-1001 is such a beast. Ideal for infiltration and assassination.
