My husband and I are starting our full-time RV experience in 8 days and a wake up. We are super excited, but also need unlimited data, we are data hogs for sure. We saw your other video and looked into it, but the coverage wasn't right for us, we looked into so many other options, including having multiple data plans. We finally settled on an unlimited business data plan. Its Verizon unlimited data with no throttle, but it is not cheap. We have had it running for a couple days now, and so far pretty happy, but only time will tell.
ERIC, YOU MUST FUSE THE CONNECTION FOR THE LAMP!!!! Especially since it's in a vehicle you plan to sleep in. A 2 amp fuse should do. IT MUST BE INSTALLED AS CLOSE TO THE + CONNECTION (on the switch) AS POSSIBLE. So in your case, disconnect the + wire you installed at the switch end. And then couple it back to the switch with a fuse holder. If you know how to solder, you can get away with not using/buying a fuse holder by soldering a small/medium blade fuse in the spot by using a very short jumper (short piece of wire) on the switch side of the connection. Then directly solder the remaining 2 connections directly to the fuse blades (be careful not to melt the plastic.)
Nomadic Fanatic The theory goes: If the wire you installed becomes dead shorted; will that be enough amps to pop the fuse on the main line? What gauge is the wire you used? And what amp fuse is on the main line?
***** The side of the fuse closest to the switch should have only an and inch or two of wire on it, not enough to touch ground. The long wire side of the fuse may drop but it has no charge.
Eric I just want to tell you in my 61 years on this earth I have learned that I cannot please everybody all of the time. I think you're being too hard on yourself because you said something about what you did. It's not your fault at what has happened with that company it's on them. Continue to do the best that you can and that is all that you can do I enjoy your videos so continue to make them thank you for your time.
Watching your videos is very valuable for me. Not just the road trips, which are great but how you cope with daily challenges. It gives me ideas that I may or may not need. I would never hold you responsible for what a product does or doesn't do. You may cause me to look in a specific direction for a possible solution to my challenge but I feel responsible to myself to check as many details as I can. I would concider myself an idiot if I just believed what an advertisment told me. Just keep doing what you think is right and post what you think might be of interest to us.
Hey Eric! Love these videos. I found them on RUclips when I was researching RVs. I'm in the process of selling my pick-up for an older RV. I didn't realize so many people were doing the 'live out of your RV' thing. Here I thought I was doing something new haha. Keep making these videos, so many good tips.
ERIC: Its not on you. If someone bought it and it doesn't work. GET OUT OF IT. When you talked about it it was working for you. THANKS! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Thanks for the info... No I did not purchase, but thought about it.. I have looked at the boosters as well, look forward to your review. Cool lamp mod!! I have never named any of vehicles in the past, but all the ones I have heard sounded good.. Thanks for sharing!!
Oh my gosh--don't worry about it--this stuff is just crazy to understand--and they want it that way. Great name for the RV--Jax is not a cat--he is human !!! And he is the luckest cat in the world--what a great life..... safe travels....
Congrats to YODA! You going to paint the RV green? Kidding. Great video, looks like you found the perfect camping area in NOLA! Can't wait to see some Bourbon St videos; my last visit there was 2010.
I know Simple Mobile (uses T-Mobile, the fastest carrier in America) currently offers a Truly Unlimited SIM card. Says right on the thing, No Throttling etc... I purchased that, and it's been good for 3+ months, it appears once your signed onto it... you keep it. Speeds are really consistent at 20 Mbps by 20 Mbps, and it does use LTE. I love the service, it's currently listed as a Limited Offer.
Why not get the ones with a daily cap? The ones that resets your cap every midnight. Granted most providers that do these have slow to mediocre upload speed but I always find myself using up all that 7gb even before the day ends.
Cool video, don't fret about that product you were talking about. You had no idea they would do that. Its hard to find any good deal because some people will screw it up for all. Just the way it is. Look forward to seeing your review of the WIFI booster. I know many people who use them and they do work. So does cell phone booster. Of course nothing is free. Just have to find the best possible deal that fits you.
Laissez les bon temps rouler Eric and JAx!!! Have fun in the Crescent City but be very very careful. It is a history filled super fun place but it can be very dangerous this time of year. Yes!!! Our Sweet Swampy Louisiana has horrible roads but our people and our Gumbo are Magnificent!!! Enjoy!
Those warehouses may very well be Mardi Gras float storage. Try K-Paul's kitchen in the quarter for cajun food, take a pic of 903 St Peter Street in the Quarter - I used to live there!
Yep, great lesson learned Eric. I do tech for a large corporate environment anytime there's something 'unlimited', always consider that a Temporary & Promotional offering. There will always be a reckoning when the company bean-counters get the bill from Sprint for the few that use an extraordinary amount of data and ruin it for everyone...safe travels!!!
+dorelse At least they are offering full refunds for the device and refunding any prepaid service pro rated. They will lose a lot of customers, money, and integrity, but some will stay. Maybe that's all they wanted.
Yep, saw that on another tech news site. They're at least attempting to make it right...don't sweat it...you spoke honestly about their pricing & plans at the time.
It's tough living on the road in an Rv. check out the many foreclosures available in Florida. If your handy with painting and light carpentry you can get by with a quick fix on many--Jax will love you for it. My wife and I just picked-up an old ranch for under 30k. and should run around 40k -done The vehicles today are not made as well as years ago. They are JUNK!
That video you made about this unlimited service is still on your page, you say you deleted it but I just watched it. Glad I saw this after that video. I just subscribed as I ran across your vids and they have good information and nice to watch. Keep up the work. Thanks
We are ordering next month Singlepoint. I don't know if you have heard of it or not.. You buy their equipment which about 650 dollar and then you get 20gb for about 133 but it works most anywhere Verison works which is about everywhere we go. We are going to travel this summer all the state parks in NM.
That is some crazy parking....Looks warm and wet...The company is at fault, don't worry about it. Say hi to Jax, have a fun stay.. looking forward to the next video. Have a great day!!!
Life is all about decisions. Make the best decision you can with the information you have. Then if it does not work make your another next best decision. Your advice will help more than it hurts. Neat leg lamp work around good stuff.
Eric why do u pull yourself down? End of the day You didn't hold us buy gun point and tell us to buy the product. We make our own choices. keep up the good work.
CANTENNA CANTENNA CANTENNA You mention getting a wifi extender antenna. I told you over a year ago to look into a 'Cantenna'. You build it yourself (maybe buy a completed) and I know it is totally within your abilities. I do not have one as I don't have the need. For someone like you I can only think it would be perfect. It is VERY directional. It can 'see' and hook up to WiFi you would not normally detect with a normal 360 antenna. I'm tellin' ya baby, it could be the answer to all your free WiFi connectivity.
Eric, calm down, not at all your fault. They clearly are not a costumer centered company. Now, as for NO, love New Orleans, great City. Been there many, many, times. See the French Quarter, get off Bourbon St., it is just a tourist trap. After you see the Quarter go up Town, to see some real jazz. My sister-in-law lived for years in the Quarter. In fact she just moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, last year. You will find good food everywhere, but ask a local where they eat, don't go where the tourist eat. And some of the cheapest places to eat are the best. Have fun and I hope to see you this spring.
coming at you from beautiful St Augustine Florida now Eric I've been watching your videos a long time and they're great the video quality is awesome and I've commented a lot you never comment me back I know you say you're not a big fan of the comments I'd love to hear from you just once on the comments and I'd love to meet up with you and I definitely love to get to see Jax I don't have any cats or dogs but what I do do is I carry cat food with me in the van in styrofoam bowls and plates I always see a lot of homeless cats I always feed him always and thanks again for posting another great video👍👍👍👍👍😆
Just because you discussed a product in its (then) current state, doesn't mean you are personally at fault when things change. You definitely have no control over that, so please don't worry about at least 'discussing' products. We are all adults here (or supposed to be). I also really enjoy your 'techie' videos. Oh, speaking of bad roads, have you ever been through Memphis? Ouch.
Yeah! I like Yoda, too. Could have been Toga, too. Can hardly wait to see your French Quarter videos. Too bad you're going to miss Mardi Gras. You found a great place to park.
Thanks Eric, I was considering getting that product with the never stop service but was putting it off until I learn more about it. Thank you very much for this info. I'm currently on an AT&T promotional plan with 40 GB for $200 a month. I almost gave it up for this product LOL hell no not now!
Eric - I cancelled my order before the device arrived, their company won't last. It's the old CLEAR, rebranded and we all fell for it... see if you can get a refund. I am excited to see your wifi antenna review.
Thanks for the update on the internet Eric. I was just getting ready to press the button for the 649.00 full year. I think it will not work for me now...If you come up with something better, or are able to get a group thing going.?? ( numbers are power ) maybe they will reconsider. I will purchase the whole year as described in your earlier video.
I believe you are parked very close to the NOLA Brewing company. Pop in for a pint if you can, its a pretty cool place. Also spend the $30ish and take the Hop-on Hop-off City Sightseeing tour. It is the perfect way to see a lot of the city.
We're all adults here able to make our own decisions. Don't let this be on you. Maybe in the future, review products without a recommendation, or recommend they research the product themselves. (I actually like reviews. I may see something I wasn't aware of)
metro PCs is terrible for customer relations but has a truly unlimited 4g LTE plan that has hotspot for sixty bucks. not too many service outages as we travel east coast.
I traveled from NC to Michigan a few months ago, very poor service on Metro. Some states had no coverage at all. Really wouldn't recommend it if you travel.
Eyyyy you just drove past where Aclarino was boondocking at 12:13! (yes I watch too many rv/van dwelling channels). He did a tour of the truck with a mini house on the back (at 12:26)
Dude dont stress about it, the fault is totally on the company side.May the force be with you and Jax!
+VorssaGaming yea and its very common client fuckery taking place everywhere. its always free and unlimited and when they got you then they squeeze.
+mingiasi You mean like Straight Talk UNLIMITED?
My husband and I are starting our full-time RV experience in 8 days and a wake up. We are super excited, but also need unlimited data, we are data hogs for sure. Yes, that line is already fused, but I should add one closer to the lamp just for another piece of safety
Nomadic Fanatic
The theory goes: If the wire you installed becomes dead shorted; will that be enough amps to pop the fuse on the main line?
What gauge is the wire you used? And what amp fuse is on the main line?

The side of the fuse closest to the switch should have only an and inch or two of wire on it, not enough to touch ground. The long wire side of the fuse may drop but it has no charge.
Cool Name love it. Maybe I can get the Mr. to rewire my lamps. Very good idea.
Eric I just want to tell you in my 61 years on this earth I have learned that I cannot please everybody all of the time. Nice to see the comments again. Always enjoy watching your videos. Keep living the dream Eric.

Cool, you caught up with Eric AClarino, He did a tour of that Ford Ranger with the homemade camper
name it the general short for generosity and dedicate the rv to the ones that have supported you .
Lovely video! I love seeing Jax. Take care xxx
Hey Eric! Love these videos. I found them on RUclips when I was researching RVs. I'm in the process of selling my pick-up for an older RV. Thank you for the update
I have to say Erick you are too much, thanks for the update and the lamp is genius ! You should think about an e book with all your great ideas!
You are a brave soul, parking in that area. Wishing the best to you and yours.
Its ok Eric life goes on, got bigger fishes to fry, keep on keepin on and keep the wooly side up!
I knew that you would find that area. I was parked there a month ago and thought that you would get good use out of it lol. Have fun
Thanks for the info... No I did not purchase, but thought about it.. I have looked at the boosters as well, look forward to your review. Cool lamp mod!! I have never named any of vehicles in the past, but all the ones I have heard sounded good.. Thanks for sharing!!

Ah ha...Yoda is a nice RV name, too! Safe travels and have fun! :-)
Congrats to YODA! You going to paint the RV green? Kidding. Great video, looks like you found the perfect camping area in NOLA! Can't wait to see some Bourbon St videos; my last visit there was 2010.
He needs to commission someone to paint a mural on the endcap. Would be rather expensive to get it done right though.
Sounds like the wifi company called "Karma" operated the classic "Bait & Switch"
Neat lamp. I love New Orleans, great food and music. The people are nice for the most part, but stay alert. Jackson Square in the mornings is great.

YODA......that works! Great video....enjoyed watching your process in finding a place to park....good stuff!
Make sure you have a fuse in the circuit for the new DC lamp.
You need a Jaguar hood ornament, nice video
Cool mod on that lamp.
Never felt like naming my "possessions"!
Lots of people name cars. Probably better for advertising on his part.
Awesome vid, greetings from Jacksonville! :-)

I put off my purchase... glad i did now!
Nice boondocking location. saved it just in case.
ERIC!!! Aclarino is there, some of the viewers called it! You should meet him, he's a cool guy!!!
The streets are bad here,we get so much rain and remember you are basically in a bowl,we are way below sea level!
That video you made about this unlimited service is still on your page, you say you deleted it but I just watched it. Glad I saw this after that video. I just subscribed as I ran across your vids and they have good information and nice to watch. Keep up the work. Thanks

Hey I didn't buy it but I added it to my list for travel! Don't worry you didn't twist any arms! I never get mad at someone trying to help others!
Your neighbor is Matt Foley who lives in a van down by the river. Just kidding! I love to watch your vids while I wait out a Michigan winter.
Looks exactly like where AClarino is parked at. Pretty sure it is him in a white dodge B class.
i was just going to say that
Lol whaaaaat? I guess I'm a bit late on this info but yes, Al said they chatted a few times.
Eric why do u pull yourself down? End of the day You didn't hold us buy gun point and tell us to buy the product. We make our own choices. keep up the good work.
Nice little field to fly that phantom, I plan on buying one next month. Love the rv name!

great name good luck thanks for another great video
That lamp...A Christmas Story LOL.
Be careful in that area...
It's not a "safe" place.
I live right there. I think the closer to the river the better.
+GrifFungin Listed in the top ten MOST VIOLENT CITIES in the US!
+lowell mccormick no problem if someone gets on your roof and tries to steal your solar panels. just lock yourself inside and yell through the vent.
glad you made this video now I'm not going to get that internet I'll keep what I got

You saved my a$$. I was going to get it ...yes, because of your review....however because of you I will not get it!
Thanks!
good luck Mr 😺😎👀🚎حض أوفر لك سيدي الطيب. 🙋👍
Honestly, The service I have now charges $10 per additional GB. So said, $50 for 15 GB is still a good price. Thanks!
you're across the street from AClarino... he featured that pick-up with the tiny house on his channel as well...
New Orleans is AWESOME!!!
That's where AClarino is hanging out.
+Charles David Yeah, he sure is! :)
I dig the seahawks hat!!
What do you see as the pluses and minuses in having a motorhome type as apposed to to a travel trailer?
Thanks for the update on the internet Eric. I was just getting ready to press the button for the 649.00 full year. I think it will not work for me now...If you come up with something better, or are able to get a group thing going.?? ( numbers are power ) maybe they will reconsider. Go Seahawks:) maybe next year:) I liked it when Jax "meowed" when you said you hungry:) HA HA
We're all adults here able to make our own decisions. Don't let this be on you. Maybe in the future, review products without a recommendation, or recommend they research the product themselves. (I actually like reviews. I may see something I wasn't aware of)
The dodge van your next to belongs to AClarino who is also a youtuber. the truck camper guy is pretty cool.
when you hit that big bump you did sound like Yoda lol
cool I'm awake n u posted this!!
That is the exact same street that I saw in another video with that house truck camper. AClarino!!!!!
jax is aways hungry his hunger button doesn't turn off that's why he answers to that question
I suspected you'd be coming through NOLA. You stayed only a few blocks from a friend of mine's place. :-D
Nice hat.
Your bike is going to get jacked.
Definitely goodbye bike and probably the dish on top. Hopefully Jax is still! there after they ransack the RV while he's on bourbon street.
metro PCs is terrible for customer relations but has a truly unlimited 4g LTE plan that has hotspot for sixty bucks. not too many service outages as we travel east coast.
I traveled from NC to Michigan a few months ago, very poor service on Metro. Some states had no coverage at all. Really wouldn't recommend it if you travel.

+Ruin Or Rapture Nice! I'll have to check that out!
Watch youself in NO. They have a totally separate set of laws there.
YOU ~ ROCK ! !
Is it the same booster Chris & G use?
+Ollie W Nope. I've not seen anyone review it yet, but we'll try it out!
Okay, so you are in New Orleans in January. It looks nice and sunny. What is the general humidity on a typical Jan day or night?
+Nunya Bizniz I don't know. I wouldn't say it's humid at all.
Sucks when somebody says they are going to offer something and they don't come thru... damn the luck. lol
New Orleans has some great areas and some really bad areas too so be careful.
Aclarino is there that is his dodge class b
I have come to find that mobile internet is a serious pain in ass
Have you considered uploading your videos in a slightly reduced resolution to conserve you data plan? 720P perhaps?
