Just a quick video here, showing some new track work near Kaiser Yard and a couple trains around West Colton near Sierra! Thanks everyone for watching! More to come. 😀😎
I took a trip to Grand Canyon from San Diego by vehicle this summer of 2024, and noticed a continuous amount of freight trains either going West and East. It seemed we saw a huge amount of freight trains every 15 minutes continuously running on the tracks. In some places there were 3 rail tracks being used: one freight going East, one going West, and one for just getting out of the way.:
Putting up more warehouses in the area. From what I’m seeing around Auto Club Speedway the warehouses are the main priority over the “new” 1/2 mile racetrack.
Ooo high speed turnout! Awesome to see them being constructed. No often you see turnouts with moveable frogs. Union Pacific has been doing great strides in upgrading their infrastructure
4:05 Looks like one of the new 'shifting'-type frogs here with the linkage and motor.. I don't know what the actual name of them is..Does make one wonder if it might unfortunately be a point of potential failure as opposed to a standard frog having no moving parts...We'll see, as more and more come on line. I personally hate to see the old Creosote impregnated wood ties disappearing (that smell and look we've come to expect when near track) and the old rail spikes in them. Now the frogs are changing..But that's progress I suppose.. and big business..
@MarkInLA Yea i miss the old wooden ties and the smell, especially out in the desert heat. And i believe they are called movable point frogs. UP has those on most new crossovers they install. I'll try to get a close up of them and maybe make a video. Thanks for the comment👋
I know UP has actively been working on double tracking the Sunset for years, there was even rumor of Triple tracking over the San Gorgonio pass from what I heard awhile back!
@jasonalperin9414 Yea, it's a little confusing thru here! There's a yard lead south of the Main and north of the Main, but only one Main Track. I assume one of these yard leads may become one of the Main tracks in the future as they progress with double tracking! Thanks for looking!😎

I was there when Kaiser still made steel and multiple switch engines worked the plant. Those were the days.
@jcure That is really cool! Thanks for looking J 😎👋

As a railroader we appreciate dispatchers that keeps us moving… Some dispatchers got it… Some don’t
This dispatcher seems like he's pretty good. Thanks Mr Young👋😎
Thanks!
Thank you for watching! 😎 I appreciate that!
That was a really good drone video with audio. I look forward to seeing more.
@Atsf1976 Awesome, thank you. I appreciate that 😎
Always glad to see new railroad track being installed! Let's hope we see more upgrades to underused and dormant rail lines!
Very true. Thanks for watching👋😀
They need three sections of double crossover sets. UP wants more bottlenecks on the Alhambra sub!!!!
😂

@corycampbell9811 Yea I've noticed the same thing. Lot of new homes filling up the land on the way up to Cajon too. Thanks Cory

@@CalebA-sv2kw I was thinking the same thing, pretty cool 😎 Thanks Caleb

Love the new track and turnouts! Love the UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD!!🇺🇸 BUILDING AMERICA and its future!!
@cjbeyer8340 Thanks CJ glad you enjoyed it 😀👋👍
Kaiser Yard was a busy place bsck in my day when the mill was running. Ore jobs from Eagle Mtn in, MTs out 'round the clock.
That would've been pretty cool to see.

Of course when I move out of Rancho Cucamonga cool things start happening....
@@clydefalken9413 haha thanks for taking a look👋😎
Good catch
Thanks!
@ you’re welcome I like the drone shot too
Wow very cool 😎
@KCTopDawg Very cool, thanks big dog 😎👋👍
Flying around all those wires makes me nervous! It's so hard to see them on the drone controller screen.
Yea, it is hard to see, wires are the worst. Luckily I was pretty close, I could see everything there!
R&R what are those pyramids at end? We have the in NJ but they're filled with rock salt for winter roads
thanks
Im not too sure on those. They look like gravel, rock, and crushed cement maybe from a nearby cleanup at a construction area
I just subscribed to your RUclips channel.
Awesome thank you! 😎
They need a BNSF style triple track!!!!
Would be nice if you could somehow show on a map where is this location is
@@michaelwalker2740 Good idea! 😎
Location is Southern California, northeast of Los Angeles...
How long was that first train?
Probably just over 8,000 feet
this is the Kaiser yard
It sure is! (at the beginning) Thanks there Wes
This was today. Right?
A Couple of weeks ago, here.
Your saying double track, almost looks like triple tracking, maybe I'm seeing something different!
