Thanks for the video. Im gonna use this as a guide for doing out my 2007 Colorado, especially after seeing good reviews in the comments. You rule dude, great job!👍
To remove the actual hub you can also put the wheel back on just lightly tightened down, jack up the entire front end, place a block of wood against the rim and the frame, turn your truck on, and turn the wheel so you use your power steering to pop the hub out of position. Then remove the wheel and continue.
Sorry you had to struggle so much with that. These tips will help the next guy. The 4 bolts holding the hub to the knuckle, especially the one most difficult to get to, can be removed by using a swivel socket, not a swivel and socket in combination, or separate the tie rod end and swing the hub out for better clearance. Because this repair is labor intensive check the CV axle for any tear in the boot or for a leaking seal on the end that goes into the front differential before you put it all back together. Good to be proactive here.
Sorry for the late reply. Hope ya got it out! If it still helps, I believe I kept the wire toward the bottom while pushing the cv joint in the best I could.
@@knuckle_draggin Had to find the perfect turn angle while pushing in the CV axle. Was attempting with my wheels straight. got It all figured out and done after I asked
Good job Dude. My 04 colorado 4x4 has a bad shimmy in low speeds,I hear the wheel bearing squeeling, thinking its on the passenger side but gonna replace both sides while doing this. My question though, before ya changed the wheel bearing did you have a slight shimmy like abad tire almost? I know mines not the tires, their brand new. Please let me know, thanks Bro!
Definitely had a shimmy that the new wheel bearing helped a lot. The truck is getting up there in age and still needs inner tie rods and I think it'll mine will be completely shimmy free lol
The claw thingy is a gear puller. At first I thought to use a slide hammer with it but realized (after using my brain) it's meant for an impact. Hope that helps 😅
Love it!! And Boston made an appearance!!
This is the best fast video for the hub Chevy Colorado hub replacement
