- G'day everyone, Mum and I are back at our favourite store Costco in Moorabbin, VIC Australia. We had to stock up on mince and chicken today plus a few other things, and we also checked out some baby products.

Some unusual foods at Costco today. Fish heads and tails😱. Coconut grain dessert, black sesame dessert, rice porridge (sounds fine) but with abalone 🤔? While the abalone porridge has me wondering, the sweet pumpkin porridge has me hungry!

❤ the video as always❤ no sundaes for me this week I wonder why they not there I was watching the guy fill the machine and was hoping….but no . Tried the garlic and cream cheese rolls this time. YUM froze in bags of 2 . The mango sago pudding is back YAY but the unsalted macadamias not there. I find the use by dates a bit too short many times does anyone else have that problem?
You and Mum should swap lunches one day! I'm totally hooked on those mango smoothies these days :)

As much as I love the food tour, you always end with my favorite part, the food court! When I visited my daughter in Los Angelas the food court was actually outside! So pleasant and I'm an indoor kinda guy too.

I get the pork crackle regularly. it goes down to $5 a few times a year. If it gets stale, blend it up and use it to crumb things for frying :)
Salmon isn't dyed with artificial dyes or color additives. Farmed salmon feed contains added Astaxanthin which is created by algae and planton. The astaxanthin nutrient causes the salmon to develop the pink color. The amount of the nutrient that the farmer feeds the salmon can effect the color. Wild salmon get their color from the same exact nutrient but instead of it being fed to them they hunt for krill, shrimp and other small crustaceans and absorb astaxanthin from the shells. Without astaxanthin both wild and farmed salmon would be grey.
Oh I love pears soap but I can't use it It gives me a rash but luckily my daughter uses it so I still get to enjoy the smell 😊

Need to try that butter - coming from NZ it must be good, they have the best diary.

Thanks for your blog, just a quick question about the mince, does much water/juice, fat come out while cooking? I have tried Woolworths and Coles mince and usually get about 1/4 cup of water out of it while cooking. Thank you.
Have you tried adli mince,barely a fat ring when making spag bog sauce, and doesn't taste too bad either. 🇦🇺

I have bought the mince twice and I get A LOT of fat from it. I was shocked the first time - but my costco says something like 17%, hers said 9% i think from memory. However, porterhouses sirloins tbones etc are 50% fat on my macro calculator app anyway :/ lol so why not lol
@@martinjenkins6467 I have a mate who started an online butcher business with a guy who used to order meat for woolies and their meat doesn't hang as long as standard butchers. I think its something like 3 days, when its meant to be 4, something like that. Makes a difference in tenderness and flavour development and mositure release when cooking etc

Yeah grass fed is the healthy option for beef try and stay clear of grain fed
Problem here in Australia you might get
Some grizzle in the grass fed. The summers are too hot & dry, there is no
Green grass for the cattle to eat.
Hay alone is no good they need to eat
Silage like dairy cows, or irrigated grass
Then the cost would be high.
@@martinjenkins6467 Oh I get it as I am in vic and will only pick Australian grass fed over grain fed if grain fed is the only option then I pass on the product/place and go somewhere else :) But that mince at 10% fat that is a deal but if only Costco was in a regional area instead of metro....

The color of the salmon is due to it being dyed..., don't mean anything other than its a marketing tool...
So long as its the natural source not the synthetic, it should be fine for us. Tassel do natural.
