Back in the 70's Olympic was a truly excellent airline. I flew with them on the London - Athens route in both First and Economy (this was when airlines still offered F class on intra-European flights before business class was invented) and the service is both cabins was very impressive (judged by 70's standards and other airlines service on flights of a similar length).
The actor is Bill McKutcheon.
I created this commercial and many more for Olympic when I was creative director of the Lampert Agency. Bill Wurtzel
Nicely done Bill! Brings back great memories of my trips to Athens...especially 1972 as a kid.
Hey Bill....your commercials are legendary! We immigrated to the US when I was 6 on Dec 7 1967 on a Boeing 707.
Legendary commercial, Mr. Wurtzel! I'm 61, but remember these as a kid! And yes, we flew Olympic 707's to Athens from JFK! Best regards.
@@jjgreek1 This was my first TV commercial It put Olympic on the map.
As a Greek, I grew up mesmerized by these commercials. What an airline Olympic was under Onassis. A real source of pride for us Greeks.
@@adambednarek7146 When Onassis sold it to the Greek State
Onassis loved the commercials.
@@donsolaris8477 I continued thru 2000.
Onassis loved my commercials.
Grew up flying them to Greece for the summers. I loved this airline. What a great commercial!
Thank you Diana. I will look for more and post.

Thank you for commenting, it brings back happy memories from long ago.
I appreciate your comment.
Fun fact: No staff member complained about anything while Aristotle Onassis owned Olympic!
Onassis wanted everything to be first class.
That looks like William Redfield.
It's Bill McCutcheon.
Bill McCutcheon is the actor.
