Tucson is a unique place with its own character. I recall the people were very friendly and relaxed when I visited 10 years ago. I remember the overpass that looks like a rattlesnake. And the very old, large mission on the Indian Reservation.
That is still here.. They are adding at a rapid pace.. they tore down the Plush Lounge on 4th and Maloney's has been torn down and an ugly high rise apt complex has taken its place. I have heard rumor that its possible that O'Malley's may have a similar fate.
Mike, Thank you for posting this video. I've lived in Tucson since 1968, and a lot has changed since then. I gave my car away a few years ago and since then travel by city bus. I enjoyed the ride in this video. 🙂
3 things I notice: 1)Span wire for traffic signals in Arizona. Something I didn’t think Arizona would have. 2)Green left turn signal duration is very short. 3)Permissive left turn signal (flashing yellow) are used for dual left turning lanes. Thought I only see that in the Dallas Metro suburbs like Frisco.
Ironically most of the filming 🎥📽️ locations in that series were in the LA area & SoCal, lol. They never really even came here to film in Tucson, sadly.
Tucson is an acquired taste, I lived there 5 years. Only after leaving and seeing it again did I miss the desert. If you would’ve turned right on Speedway, you’d have driven right by my neighborhood, Speedway and Euclid.
As a resident of Tucson I’m more than grateful for any exposure, thank you. However if you’ve never been here this is an absolutely terrible representation. Some of this is side streets so far off the beaten path and some of the worst parts of town. Not a whole lot of “downtown”. A portion of what is shown on Broadway and Congress give a little feel of downtown. There are much better places to drive if you’re trying to provide a visual feeling. On top of downtown there’s the area in and around University of Arizona that’s not even slightly represented here. Plus Tucson isn’t the kind of place you can just drive by and get what it’s about. So many restaurants and places that you have to seek out not right on a street corner. Again I appreciate the work done on your videos but if someone is really interested in Tucson theres much more than what this captures.
Lmao, like what gates pass? Mt Lemmon is the only thing that looks nice, maybe some of the sahuaro national parks on the outskirts. Or maybe sabino Canyon? Anything even close to beauty is on the outskirts of tucson. The headline on this is downtown. He traveled all around downtown. What did you want to see, the playground? 4th Avenue? As a person born and raised here, he did a good job. Don't like it, put some content out yourself
Great video as always MM. Feel free to comment once in a while. Informed narration is never a bad thing. Your travelling videos remind me of another video blogger Charlie Bo 313. Although Charlie's specialty are the travel videos to places where most sane people best avoid going.
Oracle is not the heart of Tucson. Much of Oracle Rd. in Tucson is an armpit. Campbell Ave is much better. Grant, Speedway, Broadway, and 22nd are definitely the three major east-west thoroughfares.
I think this would be more aptly called Midtwon, rather than Downtown, although a vid concentrating solely on Downtown would probably be no more than 10-15 minutes.
As a native Tucsonan, I can tell you, he did a very thorough tour of downtown for just a 30-minute video. I’d venture to say he consulted with locals before plotting his route.
I think I saw myself riding on my motorcycle. Been a resident here for 35 years now. Retired city bus driver here. This great grandma wouldn't do it again for $ 1000.00 Cash oer day. Too many drugs, and o yes pothole capital now. Even when I ride my motorcycle, got to avoid homeless running out in the streets and POTHOLES, let alone bad drivers. Sorry but truth!
watch that az heat, keep that ac cranked, i used to live out there,, we got whats called swamp coolers, instead of regular air conditioners, the smell when you ist turn it on, oh,mg,run me outta the house more times,
Downtown Tucson is boring dude. You should have went to East or North Tucson possibly Skyline drive, or U of A, Mt Lemmon etc. Tucson Downtown is blah.
WHERE ARE THE HOMELESS VETS? WHILE OUR IMMIGRANTS GET FIRST CLASS SERVICE WE ARE LAST IN LINE! ARE WE LOSERS AND SUCKERS STILL? MATTHEW 25:37 I GUESS OUR REWARD WILL COME WHEN WE DIE.
Title should be Some parts of Downtown Tucson & other areas. Why show all this boring stuff? You must be new to Tucson. This is a poor representation. Sorry.

Thanks for showing the Tucson street footage. I've been to Phx but haven't made it to Tucson yet but it's definitely on my bucket list!

My hometown!! It has it’s problems just like every town but i could never hate her xoxo she is my life!!
I'm glad I live in Tucson. I was even born here. The scenery just looks beautiful.
As a guy that likes TV westerns, I can say that Tucson is very cool.
I live in Tucson. You gotta love our potholes on the road lol
After 22 years in Las Vegas, I'm so glad to leave that hellhole, I don't care if my car gets swallowed up in a pothole.
From what I see y'all don't know about potholes. Come to Springfield, Illinois.

Yeah Tucson specifically on that short left turn signal.
The Home of the Last Man on Earth. The funny underrated sitcom that predicted the 2019 virus.

Nice tour of Tucson AZ

Never been to Arizona but people have told me during summer it’s like a dry oven.
Accurate way to describe it
In Flagstaff during the summer, the average daily temp is from 50 to 80, mostly in the 70's.
better than swamp florida weather
actually its quite humid when the monsoons roll in! Very hot!
But it's a DRY HEAT (🖼️ of a skeleton)

Passing by the university of Arizona campus
U of A is actually a destination. But expensive school. Geraldo Rivera went there 😆😆😆
@@samr9520 A great place to walk any time of the day or night!
0:17 bulb goes out on traffic light and the jeep has a paper plate 👍👍
Sets the tone right.

I wonder if the North Sixth Underpass at 6th St. Still floods during monsoon?
I was on 4th Ave. Last weekend at Corbetts, Surly Wench, Boxyard.
Broadway and Speedway and Oracle are the heart of Tucson.

I live in Tucson! Glad to see you here. Hope you tried the “famous” sonoran hot dog, or really any of the food here.
My last visit was last year July 2023. It rained. I ❤ Tucson.
You're overlooking Swan and Grant, which is where I live, I can walk to Fry's, Trader Joe's, Roadhouse Cinema, 11 restaurants.
I think this would be more aptly called Midtwon, rather than Downtown, although a vid concentrating solely on Downtown would probably be no more than 10-15 minutes.
Where is downtown? Or is that it, just those few buildings? Interesting video, never been there.
As a native Tucsonan, I can tell you, he did a very thorough tour of downtown for just a 30-minute video. I’d venture to say he consulted with locals before plotting his route.
Having been to Tucson several tines, id compare its downtown to Albuquerque, El Paso and Las Vegas. Relatively small places.
@@marcbyrnes293 that’s what I was thinking, just smaller than I’m used to seeing. Nice town there though.
Tucson, the fentanyl capital of America! It’s very cheap and available, and people are coming from all over to get it. Sad!
2:16 the man disappeared on the sidewalk 😮

Be careful for drivers here in Tucson. They are very terrible drivers. They ignore all street signs and they drive very carelessly!

It looks so lonely
People tend to stay in doors during the summer months. You should see it during the 4th Avenue Fair, Gem and Mineral Show, and Meet Yourself.
Looks like on a weekend morning with not many people out. Maybe a Sunday morning
It's a nightmare.
Las calles estan como si fuera Mexico.😂
Downtown Tucson is boring dude. You should have went to East or North Tucson possibly Skyline drive, or U of A, Mt Lemmon etc. Tucson Downtown is blah.
The first time anyone has ever said "You should have gone to East Tucson". 🤣🤣🤣

never been out of europe but this looks dead and boring sorry to say but my village is more populated at night than this
That's not a downtown.
