    I think the way to being not only a good outdoorsman but successful in life in general is to remain teachable. Congratulations on finishing the course. Love your channel.

    I would seriously reevaluate everything if I had to quit on day one. I'm not going to be able to say I quit I'm going home in a survival situation.

    Congratulations on completing the course! Thanks for sharing this video with us. I have always wanted to attend a survival course and this one looks like a winner especially with Dave Canterbury at the helm. I'm rather hesitant due to my age which is 71. I quit the long treks of backpacking (five continents) as the treks got more difficult to complete. Finding that bushcraft camping can be rewarding and fun, I've pursued it for the past year learning as I go from mistakes, trial and error and watching RUclips videos by veterans of the field. It's taken me this past year to acquire the essential gear and thanks to your video there are a couple of items I need to find.

    When you say it isn't cheap, I am reminded of the saying
    'You get what you pay for'
    I have looked at the price on the website and I agree, it is pricing, but the knowledge and experience that you get is well worth the price. I would save up the money for all the items it would need - some millitary surplus, WWII items mixed with some modern day items and food (broken down MREs and other food stuffs either bought or home made - than for the course and to get there. Thanks for a good review. Hope you are doing well, take care.

    With today's gear fire is unnecessary if you are just packing a week or so and going to a known location. If you don't mind being seen fire is without a doubt one of the most important tools in the skill bag. Good video, Thank you.

    Thanks for sharing this video! I will be taking this class in July this year. Question 1: Does the tent or hammock stay at the campsite or do you have to carry it with you during the class? Question 2: Should I bring stakes or should I not as they are not in the list?

    • @UglyTent
      @UglyTent  4 года назад +2

      He allowed us to stay at the campsite for the first two night. After that pack up, take it to the car and carry what you need. You can always make stakes, but I took a few small lightweight ones.

  • @MokuNui808

    The ideal place for a survival course is a small area of woods next door to a drive-in theater, and about a quarter mile from your house, with a McDonalds on one side, a Wendy's on the other, a Long John Silvers in the background and a Kentucky Fried Chicken just across the street. Now buddy that's what you call "ruffin' it"!!!

    • @UglyTent
