When this popped up, I couldn't wait to see your 5 books... to see how many I have in my collection of 200-plus books. Surprisingly (probably because I'm 40 years older than you) only two are in my library... the Alex Webb and Gary Winnogrand.
I love the Webb book because in a world where everyone is trying to over use HDR, Webb embraced the limited tonal range of slide film and had stark silhouettes right next to perfectly exposed subjects based on who was lit by the sun and who was in the shadows. It took a good eye to visualize that effect and he used it to great effect.

For me, Fred Herzog's Modern Colour really, really inspired me. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

I loved this video! Definitely a cool add on to your usual content. I’ve never seen these books before and I’ll definitely be checking some of them out, it’s given me a new appreciation for street photography!

I own a (twice) signed first edition Saul Leiter Early Color; it’s the pride of my collection. Love, love, his approach to photography and life.

Of these, my local library system (Buffalo and Erie County, NY) only has THE DECISIVE MOMENT...and it's in the rare books collection, so I'll need to make an appointment and physically go to the library in downtown Buffalo to see it! I'll be noting all of these recs, though, for my future haunts through used bookstores....

Winogrand had 1500 rolls undeveloped when he died, Elliot Erwitt and Robert Frank…I bought a Gary Winogrand large book of images curated by SF MOMA when they had a wonderful gallery of his work from the three areas where he lived, NYC, city in Texas and Los Angeles. I bought a copy of one of his images from the Mecca club in NYC of woman reading note dancing in a gown with a man turned away from camera, timeless and provocative leaving the viewer to dream a thousand ways to interpret the contents of the note, brilliant in design as much of his work was.

Saul Leiter was THE master. Although we all know his style, technique, and gear, no one is able to replicate the magic he created. Next up is Harry Gryuaert; his use of colors is about as good as it gets.

Good news on the "the suffering of light" being reprinted. It was long out of print, and was just reprinted. Used copies were going for $350+

Great selection of photo books. You have superb taste. However please put the gold chain under the T shirt - the jingly jangly noise against the mike was so distracting ..

Saul Leiter book in a discount bookstore? The cheapest price I could find was $240 without tax or S&H. Seems like Leiter couldn’t pass a red umbrella without photographing it.
