  • Your hip mobility is required for comfortable squatting, which is a functional movement that we use in daily activities. Just stretching your hips or repeating squats will not really change your movement patterns so will not help you squat more comfortably. You'll need to retrain your movement patterns very specifically so you can move through your hips more clearly and efficiently.

My hips still need improvement for flexibility. But… I got rid of chronic hamstring pain when I started using the adductor and abductor machines at the gym. Finally built enough glute strength to make a difference.

@@beniciabowcher-royce7661 You can Google it. It's hard to find a GOOD surgeon and Insurance that will pay for it. After my injection I'm barely able to walk for about 3 days. Just an FYI. Everyone is different. My inj. helps for about 6-9 months.

Thank you for this helpful video. A question: Does it matter if the feet are turned out (and how far is acceptable), or do they need to face forward in parallel.

My femur is much longer than the tibia. Yours look to be about equal.
Can you talk about different body proportions and how much we need to modify moves to our bodies?

This is great! My back stays straight!Yay. I can fully squat, but, my right calf is tight and I can only keep that foot flat a short time then lift the heel. I squat 45 min. morning & evening slowly feeding my elderly dog, and over the course of the last year I became comfortable in this position. I blame years of high heels and an old knee injury for the right calf, would you have any videos addressing this issue? You are the Best teacher, wish I could afford your course, but know your videos are SO helpful Taro!

Hi, I wanted to thanknypu for this series. New subscriber.
Reason I'm here is due to post covid desk work. Hips became very tight and there is discomfort.
What do you think of kneeling chairs or those balls people sit on as an alternative to the chair for the workday.
BTW I have an standing desk and feel like a break throughout the day ..
    Thanms

  • @lauragrob8491

The only way I can do this type of squat is if I turn my toes out. Been through your hip program and low back program but still haven’t figured out how to fix the issue. I can feel when my hip changes position and I can only get onto the balls of my feet.

  • @cathyb5759

My squat is okay if my heels stay off of the floor. The minute my heels hit the floor then I'm sitting on my butt. I was able to do this before my THR, but in the year and 3 months since I can't sit like that anymore, or I should say squat like that all like that
