By doing more yourself, you not only control what ingredients go into your body, but you can also save a lot of money... and choosing better ingredients also has many long-term cost savings when it comes to healthcare outcomes. Overall, it's a great thing to bake your own bread. But how do you slice it? In this video, I compare two different bread slicing tools. One is quite expensive, and the other is reasonably cheap. Which one will make the CUT?!!!!

I do like the Zassenhaus Cutter. It is very expensive. Usually you get what you pay for so I personally vote for the Zassenhaus Cutter. When I can afford it. I remember seeing it in one of your videos a while back and asking about it.

As for slicing bread, I'll probably stick with a sharp knife and a plain wooden cutting board. I feel pretty comfortable slicing consistent widths but it appears that I'm in the minority (at least with my small sample size) on that one.
The simpler the better IMO. I was just never very good at slicing thin slices without crumbling the bread... maybe because (as I learned in this video) the bread cutting knife I used to use was terrible.
@@PraxisPrepper I think part of my wife's birthday present this year will be making her a nice bread knife... But probably some sort of slicing guide too.
I've always been good at spacial reasoning, I almost always have a 3d mental model of whatever physical object I'm working or thinking on. Some other people are good at remembering that we have an appointment in 20 minutes and that people have feelings.

I just use an electric knife and hammer thru a loaf of bread in no time.

There are times when you are officially a hoot. Now me, I prefer to slice with an industrial laser, then I save time and can toast at the same time. But one thing bothered me, I seem to remember you have a daughter too, she doesn't get sliced bread, you said you sliced bread for your boy and yourself. Are you the kind of guy who makes his daughter make do with torn bread. Inquiring minds want to know.
Amber lives with us, but she's not my kid. And she's not left out of the sliced bread bonanza, she's just not big on sandwiches. She DOES however like it when I make her "eggs in a basket" (an egg fried in a hole cut in the middle of a slice of bread while the bread toasts as well). I'm a fan of those too... looks like you just helped me to decide my own breakfast ths morning. ;)
Oh and for the laser sliced bread, if you saw the recent remake of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, they had a mini light saber for that.

If there were, none of us would tend to think of them as bots because of the confirmation bias. Although my channel has a 98% like to dislike (thumbs up vs thumbs down) ratio, which seems absurdly imbalanced in a positive direction in my opinion.
