just amazing man bums me out wen these bikes are gone cuz obviously they will never be back so its just so cool people put in the time and make them 100% correct and then keep em i love it
i love the fact that you don't do JUST harleys, as a kid, i helped in my uncles friends machine shop. He worked on everything no other shops would touch. So i seen soooo many un known or unpopular brands, birdgestone, zundapp, aeromachhi, etc. i did carbs, rim truing, i cleaned frames, dug out sludge, pretty much all the grunge work but i learned so much. I'd love to come by some time just to shoot the shit n share a beer. Keep up the great work!!
VERY RARE. This is the only complete 1927 4-45 ever found. The rest were completed off examples of parts from this machine which I found in Long Island NY in 1995.
Interesting seeing an air cooled 4 cylinder engine in this longitudinal arragement, I wonder if that last cylinder in particular would get hotter than the others. Not to mention the crossflow side valve head, which is incredbly cool.
A Henderson 4 dealer ran an engine on a stand for a few years to prove the cylinder's did not heat up. The American 4's were VERY reliable, in a contemporary context.
@@HuntingHarleys I can't even figure out what they're worth. How much did this one go for? I bid on a 1917 Cleveland that was used in wwi, I bid too low, $13k. It was located in Europe, and with shipping it would have cost me over $20k to get it here. Cool bike, but a novelty. A symptom I call the 'model t effect'. Cool and historical, but too primitive for realistic riding or driving.
A single and a 4 are two very different things. For a good Cleveland 4, expect to pay 150k to 300k. I found this one in Long Island New York in 1995. Prices were VERY different. It was mostly complete. Had to pay 15k as a together basket. Sold to the Current owner Mike Terry for 25k around 96/97 who restored it. Give him a call. Offer enough maybe he will sell. No reproduction on this machine [Name] Mike Terry Cell [Mobile] (908) 783-8414
Steve, great to meet you and Francine at Oley!! Mike has more then one machine. The baby Cleveland he brought out and we both took turns riding it 3 Oley's ago. Then we made the video on it right after the meet.
according to Cleveland's literature, this is exactly what as produced in 1927. That said, these were extremely limited production 400-500 made, hand built machines. I would absolutely love to see pictures of yours! Please e-mail me at huntingharleys@gmail.com
Jesus , I've never seen any bike kick over that quick & idle perfect , what a beauty .
That's an amazing piece of motorcycle history, beautifully restored and starts and runs like a modern day engine! Incredible job!
Can't take my eye off that perfect chopper in the background.
