    Those aren’t the axles - those are the rear dual tires with snow/mud tread. Some of them get retreaded like that, quite a few of those Gilligs have that. I always love that sound when they put that tread on.

      I see. That definitely makes more sense. Especially with that wavy sound. Is it the way they get retreaded that causes the sound? Or just the fact that it's retreaded at all?

      It depends on the tread patterns. Bandag co. usually retreads them in three different patterns, but the tires brand new are Firestone City Transport and their original tread. I think they retread them to save money and is more cost-efficient.

      What is interesting is they never use the snow tread on the tires for the 60 footers.
