on the topic of DS games you should react to the Sonic Rush OST. It is very unique and uses a lot of sampling. Would be interesting to hear your analysis.
SMT4 honestly slaps. what a great game and soundtrack. all these games have great themes but SMT4 even more so.

SMT games are very intense and difficult so much so SMT is considered the hardest turn based game, every little decision counts or else the boss just kills you. The calmer moments are representing the moments in your turn that you can just sit back and take breather and think about your next attack
What i love of this theme is how, its so oppressive and makes you stressed when playing, you aint playing against any normal enemy mob, you are against a true and big roadblock of a boss, and SMT really captures that feeling with their boss themes, you cant brute force it, you are not in command, teh boss dictates what you have to do and adapt for, and then its just better odds in your favor, another great theme, which is much more oppresive, could be the Fiend themes or SMT Strange journey ost in general, it captures the next level, battles or environments where you aint meant to be, against a calamity you may just surrender to but still are trying to defy
From the anime rabbit hole straight into the jrpg ost rabbit hole. Nice
Battle A2 and Battle B1 from SMT IV are also amazing
If you end up enjoying this song, there are a ton of other great SMT songs, especially in the Persona OSTs

Pleasantly surprised to see the SMT soundtrack pop-up here, further surprised that SMTIV was your first exposure rather than the more recent SMTV
Smt music isn't even close to similar to persona music so you won't automatically love the other. Pretty sad seeing an entire comment section having no actual comments on the song or video and going entirely off topic begging for something else.
There's a lot of variety in this soundtrack. Rock, moody synth music, funky stuff; all used really well in game to create a memorable atmosphere. Great game
You definitely need to react to SMTV Dancing Crazy Murder. and SMTIII Fierce Battle.
It's funny that I saw this song was done, because I remember having a discussion about this song and when the melody first comes in, what instrument is it? I personally have no idea, but my old roommate was convinced it was a hang drum. Kinda brings back nostalgia of playing through this game!
I assumed it was a tubular bell synth patch.
I think, besides that track is fire and very chaotic and that clearly fits the game, the people loves it because the sprites “dances” with the music. It’s a very comfortable experience

This song is the epitome of "damn this slaps."
A fun one from the same game would be Lucifer II. One of my favorite boss themes in the series due to how unique it is.

If you want a different vibe from Shin Megami Tensei, listen to Shin Megami Tensei V - Battle - Shiva or Digital Devil Saga - Muladhara.
Some fan favorites are more about energy than build up like Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne - Fierce Battle but compensates being an exotic experience that suits well the atmosphere of the games. Also, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers - X is an excelent intro, as well as Persona 2 Eternal Punishment Opening.

The SMT V ost is so underrated. Main Theme is so good. When the chimes kick in a freaking get goosebumps every time.
