Nothing better than a good barn cat! I work as a vet tech for a cat shelter and we had this kitty named Mocha we thought could never find a home. She didn't like being in a house, was sassy and aggressive somewhat. Then someone who breeds Rocky Mountain gaited horses came to us asking for a good mouser and barn cat knowing we primarily home indoor kitties 99% of the time. Mocha has been the perfect fit. Showing all her mares who is boss, taking no business from the horses and even swiping her claws at them lol. Most of all she is having a blast getting all the pests out of the barn(s). So glad to see a rescue barn cat fit in, your kitty reminds me of her.
Rising Star really looks as if he is going to be a very big horse. When he first arrived, he looked so tiny compared to the videos of the Friesian newborns. (And compared to Uniek!) Since Uniek is such a good mother and has so much milk, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that he has thrived so well. The fact that his head and neck are beautiful was really on display today when he was investigating the cat. His conformation is just very good overall. And, unless he turns gray, he looks like he is going to be a dark, coppery red, and those white markings are going to make him extremely flashy. I will love to see him in action as a dressage horse when he is grown.
LOL, great opening shot with Uniek and RS each doing their thing. So funny. Black Panther is getting as cheeky as Barney was. Soon she'll want to ride on Queen Uniek, like Barney did! I remember watching last year's video of the chipping. Time goes so fast!
That's so interesting to see how the horses are chipped, thank you for showing that, Yvonne. I'm new to these things so am eagerly learning! I had wondered how you would know their true heritage. (I've wondered if it has ever been contrary to the information you're provided, honestly.) Hopefully not. Black Panther is either a brave kitty or a foolish (naive?) kitty. RS was so curious - he's such a sweet tempered horse, I really ❤️ his personality. Frieda and Rinse Janko startled like they got caught doing something, that was funny. And then RJ wandering off for a second like he was lost in thought, then realized he was getting left behind and took off like a shot! 😆 Those long legs went flying. They all look so beautiful walking off into the twilight. All of Rein's horses are so incredibly well taken care of, groomed and exercised, and fed superbly. And they're well loved too, by all at Stal G and all over the world. That includes me, I may never see them in real life but I can love them from afar. Once again, thank you Yvonne, for making this possible for everyone. You are an awesome person in everything you do, from horses to vlogging, to mothering, and beyond. I greatly admire your skill and knowledge, and I am thankful that you are willing to share that. You're doing good work and have much to be proud of! 😊💯👍
I love watching these informative “teaching” videos, there is so much to know about owning horses and being responsible in taking care of them. Thanks Yvonne for making this video and showing us another part of the Friesian horse experience. Keep on that road to recovery. Love from Wisconsin.
Love from the USA! Yvonne, your videos are the BEST! Your love of animals (and people) is profound and heartwarming. I truly hope I get to visit your stables someday. (And I still think you need to open a Bed & Breakfast. I’ll be the first one to make a reservation. 🥰) And… Rising Star with Black Panther? Totes adorbs! 🐎❤️🐈⬛. 🥰🥰🥰
D'aaww, Black Panther is so cute! x3 I'm glad kitty's fearless, and that the horses are already used to having a cat around. Risy's reaction was so precious, he looked like he wanted to make friends :3
Seeing& hearing Uniek & Risey playing the "Itchy-Scritchy Duet" on their stall gate made me laugh!🐎😄 Sweet, funny, feisty little Black Panther (RIP dear kitty!) was doing her best to get some attention, too, and it worked.😻 I enjoyed seeing how the microchipping is done, and how DNA is gathered. It was very interesting to learn that it's harder to gather follicules for DNA testing from foals' manes than from adults' manes, and must therefore be taken from the base of a foal's tail. Can someone explain why is this so?🤔
Very cute RS with Black Panther, he always seems to take in everything around him, as long as he has his foster mom near by. The chipping process seems a little painful. With cats there is so much loose skin but foal are solid. Loved watching this!
That was interesting, to see how carefully each foal & momma are chipped, checked & recorded. Lot of work & careful record keeping. I'm learning a lot watching these videos, thank you for sharing.
All my experience with horses has been with more mature animals. It's so fascinating to see the foals change in looks and behavior. And after spending so many months watching Friesians, it's interesting to see how Rising Star's baby coat is changing in color and texture.
No whorls to be recorded?? 😳 That was a surprise... I was watching for it! Maybe you could make a video why it changed & show the new ones what you're talking about?? REINA I love her!! She was a bit skittish but did GREAT!! Black Panther you are a very brave kitty!!🤣😂🤣 you live those horses don't you & love Yvonne! We saw how you looked at her when she put you out of the stall & wouldn't let you in!! Don't get your feelings hurt ... she doesnt want YOU to get hurt!! The night sky outside is BEAUTIFUL!! WHAT a very cute HAPPY video!! Thanks Yvonne!!🤣😂🤣🐴🐎🐴🐎👩🦳👩🦳💕💐💜❤🎶🎶
Hi Sherry Webber! I was surprised about the whorls not being recorded, too! Sometimes these markings make it easier to tell the foals apart, although it isn't hard this year. Our Reina did seem nervous but did very well! How are you feeling?
What a lovely, brave little tuxedo barn cat... unless she's a pet that just followed you out? I'm happy to see that Rising is curious about her and not trying to hurt her.
I'm so sorry for your loss. The pain is unbearable but your memories will help you through this difficult time. I don't have horses but I've lost three cats in four years and I still hurt.
I think you have "my" cat! Our little black cat has exactly the same markings as yours right down to the little white gloves, white stockings, and whiskers! Our cat is called "Rosie" and she has a black and white brother, "Rain". Good luck trying to get yours to listen to you. Even black horses listen better than black kittens! The microchips are a great idea as one black foal looks a lot like another. It's especially good to be able to include the micro-chip number when the young horses are sold and are going to a new home.
Very interesting! The training and great care for the horses is evident, especially with the foals. They are well behaved for the vet, more so than I imagined.
I read there are special requirements when the Dam is deceased before chipping the foal. I am sure Janet and Stable JK made the appropriate duties required by KWPN Studbook. Rising Star is from a very high pedigree bloodline, just as the foals from Stal G. This chipping/identification process ensures there are no imposters and especially with Friesians, no "outside" blood is introduced into the pure breed closed Studbook.
Rising Star is registered in the foal book and as far as I can see, he is chipped, meanwhile. Parts of the KWPN studbook are public, that is different to the KFPS studbook, which is only visible for members.
Good morning, Pake Jeffje! Thanks for further explanation. That went well, I think! ( to borrow an Yvonne- ism..) Foals will probably be a little sensitive in their necks, for a minute.... Like after a flu shot?? That little kitten has more courage than brains, it would seem .... However, cats and Horses generally do well together, so Panther will soon learn to dodge those hooves - loved how Rising Star could not get enough of her! And that now he has a blue halter! Love that baby cat, Black Panther seems like just the right name. No fear! I was wondering how they would chip RS since Uniek isn't his blood and 2 seconds latter it was explained. Interesting how they chip these horses with matching DNA. Taking the extra step since the "basic" step is the same for cats and dogs.

Haha! I love that little Black Panther isnt scared at all of the big loud horses! What a brave and cute little kitty!
First time seeing this video and I wondered why these foals whorls weren't noted like RS's were.
Love watching the horses walking out to pasture in the evening light.💙
He’s growing up… looking more and more like an adult. That kitty IS cheeky but so is RS!!🤣😂‼️these are great videos! Love to relax after a long day of dog grooming and watch these wonderful wonderful videos!!! I groomed 5 bouviers today!!! Give my love to Senna and tell her she’s such a goid girl!!! Thank you for these videos!!♥️‼️Live and peace and health to you all!!!💕🐾🐾💕☮️♥️‼️😘🥰🎃🍁❣️
Amazing animals!!! I am so jealous of your work, but I can tell that you spent a long time learning what their needs are.
Awww sweet Black Panther. He sure is fearless. I think he just wants to be around Yvonne 😉. RS is sure growing!! Uniek has taken good care of him. 😍😍😍
We have an expression in English - Herding cats - it’s supposed to mean doing something impossible. Maybe Panther hasn’t gotten the message!
That was so interesting. Such a lovely kitten and not afraid of anything.
Panther was like The Friesians. Very well socialised, from a very young age .. no fear!
Omg that baby cat 🐱 absolutely beautiful 😻
Black Panther is young and fearless! 😅
And the foals are do sweet, even if the vet experience is a bit painful.
Aw, little Black Panther kitty is so adorable and such a cheeky girl! 🤗 Had to laugh when Yvonne popped her out of the stable and told her to stay, as if cats listen to anything we say 😂 Nice to see the evening view as the horses head out to the field in the fading light.
cool cat
Ouch 🤕 now all safe. The cat 🐈⬛ again love that.
Rising star is so sweet. The cat is his friend l think.
All the your babies 🐎 are getting so big !! Love all of your videos !! Thank you for sharing 💕
I truly enjoy everything you post. My day gets started with your videos Thank you so very much.
Mine too! I watch one (or two or...ten) 😁
Mine too 🖤🖤🖤
Black Panther, a nice name.
Kitty wants some attention.. You should get another kitty so this one would have company.
RS says" Hey Yvonne! Watch me boop Black Panther off the door!" Booop!
Very interesting, it shows proof of ownership and that they are pure bred Friesian. And that kitty is so sweet and brave. I think my cat would run and hide.🥰❤️
Rising Star is such a gorgeous colt.
Love your informative videos! Please show us Rising Stars chip process and how it is different. As always, thank you for your time!❤️
RS wants to play with the kitty.
I love your educational videos. Can’t wait see how RS is chipped. Hugs from Alabama💜
Panther was but a kitten.... More guts than brains.... 😬😺
Thank you for showing and telling what you're doing, Mr. Vet! Very much appreciated
My pets are the same - they always have to be in the middle of whatever's happening 😅😅😅
1:08 so cute!
Wow how I miss mucking the stables. My father owns an Arabian Horse farm with two barns that fit about 20 horses a piece I think it's been a while.
love panther!
Me too, Aunum.
Rising Star is really looking great!
The kitty wants to be by you !
Funny opening with the animals .
Lets hope the kitten is fast on its paws as it dares to go into the stables.
I always love the chipping videos. It’s like a right -of-passage on their way to growing up.🧡🧡
Adorable kitty
