    I felt potent anxiety about whether you were wearing a beekeeping suit, then I see your bare exposed hand!

      Brian and i were both wearing suits! But yeah, usually no gloves for me. I don’t mind a sting on my hands. I do mind being stung on my face.

    Hmm, something to look for next year. Didn't ever think they swarmed with more than one queen.

      According to other people in the replies there can be many more than you’d expect

    Weirder. Bees hanging out at a swarm spot for weeks after swarm removed.

    Barnyard Bees once found a tool of 9 queens in a swarm in his beeyard.

    I had a hive swarm, on a low bush. Bumped into a bucket, then poured into a hive. The queen flew back to her branch, about 10 times.
    Finally got her into the hive, 2 hours later, she did it again. I let her fly off, as it was over 100 degrees, and I wasn't putting the veil on again.

      At least you didn’t have to keep getting on a ladder? No, that sounds pretty frustrating.

    I always spray the branch after I've got the queen with a strong smelling deodorant. Tends to stop them reclustering

      I'm assuming brushing the branch off first right? It's a good tip, clarifying for people who see this and want to do the same.

    It's NOT that rare swarms have multiple queens, especially virgin queens.

    Here is some interesting facts about Honey Bees;
    Honey bees and number 16; A female honeybee has 16 diploid chromosomes and the male has 16 haploid chromosomes. It takes a hive 16 days to make a Queen ie from an egg to a Queen Bee. Chapter 16 in the Quran is called “The Bee”. The word Bee mentioned only once in the entire Quran and it’s in 16:86. This verse is used only 16 Arabic letters(including the repetition) out of the 28 Arabic letters .
    The shortest verse in chapter 16(The Bee) is verse 16. Verse 16:16 is made of 16 Arabic Letters. Chapter 16 (The Bee)is made of 128 verses, which is a multiplication of 16 ie(16x8) and 2080 Arabic words which is also multiplication of 16 ie (16x130). There are 992 Arabic words before the word An-Nahl(The Bee) 992=16x62. There are 1088 words from the word Bee to the end of the chapter, 1088= 16x68(16:68 is the verse where the word be is mentioned)
    .
    Allah(God) inspired/spoke to the bee as a female bee as it’s written in Arabic in The Quran >1400 years ago, Allah inspired her to do her tasks. Now we know that the Hive is run by females (>99% females) doing the tasks inspired to do), whilst Shakespeare spoke about bees hive as a kingdom run by a King and defended by his brave army of male bees! .
    Also the Smoke, a honey beekeepers uses to calm bees, ends up as CO2, the Molecular Weight of CO2 is 44 and Chapter 44 in The Quran is called “The Smoke. “
    Google “Aramaic dictionary” and translate the ward God into Aramiac(The language of the be loved Jesus, son of Mary, peace be upon him ) you will see its translation is AaLaH and in Hebrew is Allahum.
    Finally read the last testament(The Quran) and you will see it makes since and you will say why no one told us about it.
