She is called The Crystal Voice Of Asia after winning 1st runner up in Star In A Million (2004) and Voice Of Asia (2005) where she represented the Philippines in a prestigious International Singing Competition. She became very popular in the early 2000 after releasing her self titled debut album called Come In Out Of The Rain which was awarded 4X or 6X Platinum. The song became a national anthem and hit the number 1 spot in almost all radio stations nationwide. People would always remember Sheryn Regis whenever they hear this song as no one ever can overpower or replace how she nailed the song with her sweet and powerful version. Sheryn's prime was after Regine's Era and before Mori's and is the only singer I know who has confidence to match Regine in a one on one vocal showdown. People would go crazy every time they see a Regine X Sheryn Back to Back like the trending ASAP Bay Area Showdown. Sheryn is now a Music Legend and amazingly, her vocal skill is still in prime.
To share you a little trivia:
Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw is one of Sheryn's original masterpieces.
The raw lyrics was written by her based on her own life experience. She captured the hearts of many with the right amount of emotion and power she infused to the song.

She’s a hit maker in the early 2000’s and a multi platinum awardee until she moved to Texas, USA in 2010. She moved there for a decade and decided to come back in PH to pursue her singing career in early 2021 where she released her new album featuring “Gusto Ko ng Bumitaw”

Before Mori,Sarah, Jonah etc. There was Sheryn who made this song famous in the Philippines for singing it like just a piece of cake 😅😄 I remember her being like the second regine back then.

@@echobonx4118 Sarah won Star For A Night in 2003 and Sheryn won 1st runner up in Star In A Million in 2004 but yeah Sarah won first and got a bit more famous first I guess and yeah their gap is around 10 months or a year. not gonna fight or anything but yeah I just kinda corrected it. hehe sorry.

@@markiii1993 sheryns version is not simple. She made the song her own added adlivs and some additional belts like the high belt in the ending and additional runs. Regines just mirrorred the original version therefore regine is lot simpler. You said it the way around.

Before mori and others, there was Sheryn and Charice. Sheryn Regis (re-his) is the original writer and singer of Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw..

The Crystal Voice of Asia Sheryn Regis, burst out into the scene about the same time as Sarah G., and Rachelle Ann Go, after placing 2nd to Erik Santos on the tv singing contest Star For A Million. Among her contemporaries during her time, she was the only one who could come close to Regine’s vocal prowess. I know this, because I have sung with her live. The sheer power and weight of her voice really do not make sense for a very tiny lady. 😮💨 That’s why a Regine-Sheryn showdown is the most clamored for event in Philippine music. Haha they did a mini showdown on this song a few years ago for ASAP held at Bay Area, USA. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a fair match as Regine wasn’t feeling very well that time. But Regine still delivered. 🙌🏻
Sheryn strung out multiple hits throughout her career, being the voice to numerous drama series on TV. She was one of the mainstay artists on ASAP since the start of her career until she migrated with her family to the US many years back.

This song wasn't even really recognized internationally but in the Philippines. It was because of her. The original singer sounded so much like Whitney which became a drawback for the rise of her career. She recently joined The Voice US.

People keep commenting that Filipinos are good singers but in the Philippines, some of the best female singers come from Cebu. Pilita Corrales, Dulce, Sheryn Regis, Morissette Amon, Ana Fegi, Verni Varga. Even Josephine Aton who went viral when she sang 'Didn't We Have It All' in a mall hails from Cebu.

Sheryn rose to fame in the early 2000 (2003 or 2004) and not from the 90's era.
She was at the peak of her career when she migrated to USA with her family. She continued her career in Houston Texas by doing a TV Talk Show called Chit Chat Houston (Magazine TV Talk Show) and Concert from different States all over United States. In 2020 she went back to PH to focus with her Philippine Music Career and held 2 Major Concerts in 2020 and 2021 together with the release of her original song compostion "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw" under her Brand New Album called "She".
