Arcane Intellect is definitely the most powercrept card in the game, but the funniest part is that it still sees play in some decks occasionally which is just insane
Turn 1 spawning pool into turn 2 whatever, turn 3 draw 3 zerg reduce cost by 1, then turn 4 play zergling + roach + evo for a total of 2 3/2s and a 5/5. Pretty darn good turn 4 board, I think
Larva are great because they have a MUCH more limited pool to draw from. Zeres and the mage scroll pulled, in wild, from HUNDREDS if not thousands of cards
Evolution Chamber being considered good, really goes to show the power level of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, which had Mark of the Lotus: 1 mana Give your minions +1/+1 for druid.
The scope of what you can build with these different races will be very limited since many of them aren't neutral. It doesn't even feel like you can make a full deck out of any of these because there won't be enough of any of them. You'll feel like this card will work great with this other card, but they are in two different hero classes. You can probably fix this issue with tourists.

Egg Hunter in Wild will love Evolution Chamber... now they can trade-kill their eggs rather than waiting on their own spells or the opponent to pop them.
Larva has the potential to get you cards that still sinergize with your deck, but you can't run. The DK card that got leaked for example could make all the difference in some matchups.
Since terrans and protoss machines are mechs, couldn't zerg units be beasts? Would it be unbalanced? This same set put alien animals as beasts, and non-sentien insectile creatures are beasts in hearthstone, so no flavor problem.
That would probably make Hunter the automatic best Zerg class and the only one worth running because it would have a ton of extra synergy that the other Zerg classes wouldn’t
This hunter package seems fantastic to me. Its just more silly dumb aggro, but it seems like it slots so perfectly into token style hunter decks. Definitely going to have to give this a try on release 👀
The brood queen could be a good card, but so far there's only been zergs that have anti-synergy with its concept. You aren't drawing the roach so it can't duplicate, you can't handbuff the copier over several turns so it's just a 1 mana 2/2 most of the time, there needs to be some really good targets for broodmother to have her spawn turn into for it to be good, and it just doesn't look like we'll be getting that.

@chaosjimthevoidlord3762 Death knight has given queen one amazing target, one good target, and one mediocre target. Banelings have antisynergy but they at least are pretty decent even as 1/1s. Infestors are the things your fiending for with queen so far.
Everybody seems to think the SC flavor is good, so this might be an unpopular opinion: Zerglings, not Zealots, should be the ones with charge. Also, Zerg should be the race that has easier access to Charge, not protoss. Yeah, I know, in Starcraft 2 zealots do have an upgrade with the word "charge" in it, and we usually talk about "zerg rush", so at first glance the flavor seems to be spot on... but it seems Team 5 focused into bringing the same "word", even though they mean different things in SC and in HS. The HS keyword more in line with the starcraft and RTS concept of a "rush" is not rush, but charge. "Zerg rush" is not about trading with minions and controlling the board, but hitting face and ending the game quickly. So, IMO, it would make more sense for zealots to have rush and controlling the board, and for zerglings to have charge (or be given charge through the spawning pool) and finishing off the opponent before they have time to do their thing.
You've got a point, but the Zerg having charge sounds like Pirate Demon Hunter all over again except with more classes. Having said that, we haven't seen a lot of Zerg cards yet including Kerrigan. If Raynor resummons Starships and Artanis summons charge minions and they both buff minions with their hero powers, I wonder what her effect will be.

The templars have otk potential in rogue The mage colossus has otk potential The Thor mech for warrior has otk potential They’re all just a bit slow, so after rotation is when they’ll shine if they even do

My criticism on this set is that I just feel like I wish there were some cool heroes I want to play on the board. Instead of Ghost it could be Nova. I know they want to save stuff for sequels but please give me one Hero card I can touch.
I feel like the zerg tribe as a group failed compared to the other two. It just is "swarm" and that's an archetype that has already been done over and over If they had made something new with swarms then it would have been a different story

my only comment about these cards is the board doesn't matter at the moment and with how the other cards seem board will not matter after the mini-set either. These cards look soooo unbelievably underpowered compared to broken shit the other classes are getting. very disappointed in the direction the game is taking
I'm not a big fan of some of these card designs nor do I think some of them seem very playable, that being said they sure hit the nail on the head when it comes to theme regarding star craft II, these cards are a near perfect representation of their units in SC2.

Larva might actually not be able to generate other queens, since in starcraft they're the only zerg unit to not be born of larvae
Lorewise the larva has the genetical mapping of every single zerg unit, ever.
only in sc2 and thats more of a gameplay purpose because of the problem you dont want your econ/defense unit to be dependent on larva spawning rate
