- A Florida 14-year-old girl is being hailed a hero after protecting her little sister from a stranger with a gun. The drama started when a man, with a shotgun, suddenly appeared outside of their home. The man banged on their front door. When he started to leave, he turned back around and opened the front door. For Leigha Kissinger, her priority was protecting her 4-year-old sister. She scooped her up and carried her to another room to hide. The family doesn’t plan to file charges and hopes the man will get the help he may need.
This is why you should always have your doors locked.
Exactly. Kind of irresponsible.
Disagree. They should be unlocked sometimes so that you can walk through the doorway.
EGG XAC LEE 💀💀 like if the door was locked we wouldn’t be seeing this rn
@@ninjaguyYTPerhaps something radical like, oh I don’t know… some keys??
Learning who Richard Chase was convinced me to always lock my doors
The way he was holding the gun saved his life. He was holding it like a 4 year old would drag a toy rifle around.
I was so confused why he was dragging it like that, thinking he was on something. Learning at the end he has dementia and I’m like “ohhhh okay.”
I think he didn't even know it was a gun. He might have thought it was his walking stick or something.
He thought it was a walking cane the way he was using it but he’s still lucky he wasn’t stopped by a trigger happy officer.
@ Gi I''m dead 😂😂😂
Exactly
Poor man. I could tell immediately by how he was holding the gun that he wasn’t all there. I hope he gets help (and has any dangerous things taken away.) good on this girl and her family for being brave and kind.
They'll take his gun and leave his knives.
@ronb67 probably not. He will probably be sent to a nursing home for his saftey.

@@nerdguru86Imagine having no sympathy for a very old frail man with serious dementia.
I cannot believe that door was UNLOCKED with these two precious girls home alone! I hope that gave their parents a wake up call!
From the amount of stories I've heard where people have their door unlocked, it seems quite common. Even if I leave my car for a minute I'll lock it. I've also gotten into the practice of locking my screen door too, makes it harder if someone wants to break down my door, they now have two doors they need to remove, which could give me a bit of extra time to form a defense/escape.
Right? I thought the exact same. How the heck was he able to just walk in?! 😳
Although I wouldn't blame the parents. I've told my kiddos this a million times and I would be upset but not totally surprised if I walked into an unlocked door at some point. Hopefully this taught the teen why her parents tell her to keep the doors locked.
Am African and my dad was military. Taught us self defence and security from birth 😅 when I went overseas I was so shocked how wypipo just dgaf about security and basically their life !!!!! Girls walking at all hours of the night in the dark half naked and drunk..people never locking or securing ANYTHING 😂 houses with no walls or security doors ... everybody singing how safe it is ... until it isn't huh 😮 ... nope ... I don't trust anybody that much with my life or my family life. Nope.
Most times, kids leave doors unlocked despite being told repeatedly to lock all outside doors when home alone. It's not ALWAYS the parents' fault.
My Dad suffers from dementia and it’s terrifying to think of him holding any kind of firearm. Thankfully no one was hurt and the family aren’t pressing charges.
EDIT: I feel like people were confused by my comment, so just to clarify. My Dad doesn’t own a firearm. I was just saying it would be terrifying if he somehow had gotten his hands on a firearm. We’re all caring for him and he’s safe.
It’s Florida so he can he all the AK-47 he wants (I know this was a rifle)

You people really love living in fear lmaooo
Yup! Lock your doors. I remember when I was a kid, I stayed up late one night playing Minecraft and slept in during the morning. That morning I was home alone. Later, my parents were so worried and was glad I was safe. That's when I was told some random person was running from the cops and ran through my house and left through the back door while I was asleep. My parents never locked the door because we were in a "safe" neighborhood. We lock the doors now.
I live in a relatively low-crime area. Usually when you hear sirens, is because either there is a fire or it’s an ambulance going to/from the local home. I remember going for a morning walk and seeing people’s garages open, car windows down, I had a friend who never locked their doors. Regardless of living there forever, I always thought it was absolutely insane
I have a 10 foot fence and 3 big, fairly hardcore dogs. Someone would have to be a fool to climb into the yard knowing they have no way out. 🤣
And then some people have obvious surveillance.. it’s not a big deal to leave door unlocked.

Please LOCK your doors folks, that’s the very first line of defense.
