I got 1 for christmas and they work quite well, they are like binoculars and you can see about 50 meters away from your target. A anoying thing about it tough is that the rubber stuff around the eye lenses fall off real easily and take time to put it back on. There is also l4 different visions that you can use with it.
Just in case you haven't figured it out yet: those 'flashlights' are infrared LEDs that emit light that's invisible to the human eye. (The camera inside the device, though, can see it well and display it on the screen. there's also a ring of more powerful IR LEDs that faintly glow red, because they emit a LOT of IR light, and in a broader spectrum. That's the reason why you can see them glow.) You can check whether they work by looking at the front of the device through a cellphone cam.
I bought the older ones that have a face mount/strap but only one lense so it evens it out my brothers also have a pair of them and its realy fun to use them when its dark and we cover the windows so no light can come in and we scare the crap out of each other
Uh, actually, the IR lights on front change when you change the setting of brightness. The dim(close up) activates the two sets on the outer edge, which are both fairly dim. The farther range turns on the center lights, around the camera lens. This is brighter. Test this, use a webcamera, or any camera, and turn on the IR, aim it at the camera and look at the video. They'll light up, you'll only see the red of the bright setting with the naked eye.
I just bought a pair of these for $100 at Wal-Mart and they are actually GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was looking at the ATN Viper night vision monocular, but that was $300 at least. These are exactly what I was looking for. It takes a little getting used to seeing with slightly magnified vision. outside, I can see about 100ft no problem in long-distance mode. NOTE: The red lights don't turn on unless you use long-distance mode. If you using them in close quarters, its completely invisible.
@24Rorschach how it works is it sends a infred light that is invisable to the naked eye! and the camara on the night vision can detect the infred signal and show it to you on screen. so it is like a invisable flash light
Actually, there are a variety of forms of "night vision", broken down into "passive", which are light gathering/amplification, and "active" which is using a non-visible light spectrum, such as infrared, and viewing it through an imaging device that can see IR. That's exactly what these are. I have a set of these, and they do a surprisingly good job of allowing the wearer to see in complete darkness. How far you can see all depends on the power of the IR illuminators.
I have a pair of these and they are pretty good for close stuff but not as good for far away. maybe I might mod mine so all of the IR LEDs are on. The thing I am most interested in is being able to record that you see so I can post it on youtube. These are just a modified camera with IR leds. I prefer the B&W mode but you can see farther with the green mode and on recon mode. Next on my list from eyeclops is their mini projector.
I bought these at Kmart on Black Friday for $40. Can't believe how awesome these are. Real IR LEDs and everything. You guys should check out my review on did on these too. Great present for Kids OR Adults alike!
ok for those who are saying they copied of of Modern Warefare2 LOOK IT UP. The people that made the eyeclops which is Jakspacific agreed to make a special version of these for Modern warfare. Look at the design of the origional eyeclops which came out before modern warfare 2
The first one that goes on your head is WAY better. The only good thing about this one is that it's got both eye pieces instead of the one, I have the headset one, and I love them, I use them in manhunt in the dark it's so fun.
How do they fit on your face if you where glasses? I was thinking about getting this, but saddly I wear glasses, do you think I'd beable to properly use this if I go it?
I might get a pair of these b/c I love stuff like this but they are very expensive like I think 60 bux thats outragous for a toy well i guess its good considering the technology inside Vs a REAL night vision goggles which are thousands of dollars. also have you reviewed that EyeClops TV microscope? I might get that too.
Would there be a way to strap these around your head? Or are they too bulky? I wanted to get some NVGs for Airsoft so I was thinking of grabbing these or the old style and strapping them to a helmet over my goggles So which would be better for that?
actually these are not binocular. they are still mono. it just uses lens to split the single screen between both eyes, if it was real binocular you would still have depth perception when looking through them...
Honestly I don't give a damn about depth perception. This will be fucking perfect to use to cosplay Splinter Cell and play Spies vs Mercs irl during nighy
Thanx for the video :D I will buy this for my kid this cristmas. btw you say: "never seen green Night vision" .. That`s not true, when I was in the army I used real Night Vision. And what you see in them is green and sharp white ! ;)
1 camera lens means 1 display. if it had two you'd just be putting together 2 of the same image together. You need 2 cameras in it for the 3D effect you're thinking of. It's exactly how our eyes work. Sorry for the whole lesson about 3D.. I'm home sick and have nothing better to do..
"wanna see something cool?"
"yeah!"
"night vision goggles"
"no way, i wish i had this when i was a kid!"
"even better...we got them when we're 40!"
i used to have a pair of these when i was younger and they were honestly one of the coolest things ive ever owned, peak childhood memories

they look awesome even the black and white night vision

Surfing amazon and these immediately caught my attention. Dunno if I should get it yet though.

Thanks! Are they durable? I wanna get some but don't know if I should.
Just bought these for my nephew. He and his family live out in the country, so I know he'll get some good use of them! :>

Excellent job demonstrating the NVG. I was just curious how well your camera did justice of the quality of the NVG?
In theory, could you use a Surefire Flashlight with an Infrared filter, and improve the distance/quality?
Found one of these at goodwill for $3, still in good condition, nothing broken either

One eye screen is much better because you'll keep your other eye adjusted for the darkness.

I will buy this for my kid this cristmas.
