I feel so priveledged having followed you all the way from where you started to what you're achieving now Daniel. Your parent must be super proud. You're going to go a looong long way. :-)
You have a dream job. Nice video. I can't imagine how the two drones didn't collide with all those close shots. Fragile RC stuff is ushaly a magnet for other fragile RC stuff with its strength proportional to the value of the equipment.
It looks like they're using counterweights to possibly add some pitch at low RPM. To be honest, it looks like a lot of weight for what is probably very minimally better efficiency. Personally, I'd remove those heads and blades and go with a T-Motor P series prop which will be lighter AND more efficient than those cf reinforced plastic props.
I noticed that too. These guys have nailed the recipe for ultimate smoothness. I am interested in that prop configuration, for those who understand the aerodynamics of propellers in a fixed wing vs helicopter vs multirotor, you will already know that fixed blades are meant to operate perpendicular to the airflow. In multirotor applications where the plane of the propeller operates close to parallel about the airflow, lift across different sections of the propeller will be different causing vibrations and in efficiencies (loss of lift). I think that these guys are using a dynamic system that changes the lead or lag of the propeller to compensate for those said inefficiencies, therefore achieving a higher level of smoothness
For me, they will never be "drones" but "multi-rotors": "quadcopter", "hexacopter", "octocopter"... Sometimes in a morning when i can't wake up, i just think about where i came from and where i am now and that's enough strength for the day :p Have a great week Daniel and keep living the big dream over there!
@Niles Black Absolutely. "Quadcopter" annoys me. I'm pretty sure it's just people who couldn't remember the name properly... It literally stands for "quad-rotor-helicopter". Can't really skip the "rotor" part...
That's typical for business class drones tbh. Especially heavy lift cameraships and geospatial mapping rigs. The best thing to compare this to in the hobbyist space is probably a hugely overpowered X-class.
Not since the introduction of Sound to film has there been an innovative earthquake to the industry like drones! This and everything being done with these amazing flying machines are incredible and inspiring. Keep up the great work fellas!
This is an amazing video, enjoyed watching every second of it. Need more stuff like this, real people, mellow vibe, some funny stuff. I’m happy I subscribed mate
its really freaking awsome to see you from building self made prodject rc stuff to full legit serious drone filming and damn those rc drone are freaking bad ass! keep us up to date with that stuff and i hope to see you post some videos from movie takes soon! :D
Loved it!! Watch all your vids but this one got my heart beating faster. Beautiful shots, really great work. And look at all that gear...omg. You could have made this video an hour long and I still wouldn't have been bored. Thanks man!
Great Video! I'd love to see a breakdown of the differences between the alta 8 and the alta X and then also a breakdown of how the prop heads of the alta X work.
WOW, you guys know how to do it!! That shot at 10:02 was AMAZING. Keep up the great videos. Im trying to grow my drone channel and love seeing great content that will help me! Thanks
2:40 Holding a 360 cam while being pushed on a handcart past a dude with a stabilized cinema camera on a Freefly Movi Ring (or something like it) riding on a segway has such @shittyrigs vibes lmao
Did you actually watch the video? They are flying with two pilots! One flying the quad-copter in LOS and the other one operating the gimbal camera with a screen, it means they don't do long range so why would they need crossfire for that?
@@blackmennewstyle I would use it for peace of mind on a piece of equipment that probably cost $100,000 flying over water. I'm sure it has plenty of reduncy but coming from Spektrum to XFIRE it has changed my self confidence in every and all situations.
@@blackmennewstyle Yeah you are right man only dumb people would ask such a stupid question it is obvious when you think about it, at least you aren't as dumb as other dumb people. You are however a douche.
That drone is awesome. But you have to have titanium reinforced carbon fiber balls to fly that much camera equipment under a quad rotor. What happens when this thing looses a prop or motor or battery? Can it fly on 3 motors and land? Or did you just watch your Red camera just accelerate towards earth at 9.8m/s/s?
well i have the Alta 6 although its an older but i cant even fly or get any info how to cause i think the remote that came with it is set up weird but im not use to this type of setup at all, what a mistake on my part i should stick to to my m600, but if anyone nears nyc knows what to do with this please let me know if yo can help so far i flew once it came right back to ground with a little bit of damages
That is big! Expensive though. I would say the Hybrix.20 is better considering the price and flight time of 4 hrs but who knows? I know little about this drone anyways.

I'd really like to see a technical breakdown on how the rotor head system works.
Looks like a 45 degree fixed pitch helicopter head. I suspect they did it to allow blade feathering to reduce vibration.
@@prototype3a the tech specs indicate it's an active system.

Don't like these heads. I believe a fixed prop setup is more efficient.

Most people: Yo I got a professional drone! A phantom 4!
These Dudes: ALTA X
DJI produces almost only consumer drones. All professionals are laughing about their stuff.

@shinukism shnuck And lighter 18650 lions
Can't wait for the video of Freefly Systems' boss reacting to the influx of "drone tester" job applications
Yeeeeah.. starts at $16'000.- so it's not gonna replace my Mavic 2 Pro soon =(

Thats actually not too bad...cheeper than the alta 8 right?
the camera (and lens!!!) it's carrying co$t way more ;-)
You guys hooked up with the right Canadian film company. My favourite team right there, great job!!!
one word: Beautiful
I wish every product release had a behind the scenes. This is so much fun to watch

watched the other two videos...awesome and cool i must say
Filming a drone filming a drone filming. Well played Sir
Was cool to see you came over here. Saw posts of your group testing them out a few days ago.
Wow, nice to see teetering rotor heads on multi-rotors now. Let's you know the folks working on these UAVs know their stuff. Keep the videos coming.
You certainly have a larger than average drone their. Amazing.
BEASTLY !
Excellent design! Awesome!
People on a boat filming a drone that's filming a drone that's actually filming more or less random stuff... Inception!
Those are amazing, I'll take a dozen.
Wow, that was amazing !!
Dude… cool video guys!🎉
So majestic!

Can I fly it in the house? :-D ... I'll use prop guards ...
LMFAO
Those giants black drones are superb machines
That looks like one of the funnest jobs in the world. Not going to lie.
Slow clap. Can't wait to see the X in action.
Outstanding!
Glad to see another Cube platform. Any weather resistance on this bad boy?
Where was this shot? Stunning locale.
Amazing culmination of technology.
Damn you guys are good!
What's the flight time like for a relatively light payload such as 3kg?
Curious - was CGI considered instead of a studio shoot? What were the relative benefits for each for you?
Do these use some form of a pixhawk as a flight controller?
11/10 content
Yo, you work with some super cool tech. What kind of qualifications are companies like this look for?
4:33 has no reason to be so good looking. wtf. like. *All hail GREATEST B-ROLL CLIP OF ALL TIME* xD
Tbh, most all these shots are gorgeous. That first breakfast one just surprised me, and took the cake.
I am quite surprised that it's a quad. How is reliability assured with non-redunant motors?
wow! that is dope!
No APAS , obstacle avoidance or air sense like the matrice?
Is that the Porsche Cayenne camera car Doug Demurov reviewed?
so cool!
If you've ever flown in gta is there a way to put triggers on a radio for rudder control and for throttle so one stick is free for pan tilt cam
You should try to get in contact with the Slo mo guys and see if they want to put their cameras under your drones
What live video system does it have? Or how does it work?
are the motors a higher kv to increase stability at lower battery voltages? hi btw buddy long time no talk to=)

Alta: yes
What is the payload at 3:20?
what cam did you use as 360 cam on top of the drone?
Love this channel! Love the music too. I've been able to Shazam all the songs except the one around 11:25. Anyone have an idea who it could be?
Could you share the results you found for the other tracks? I haven't any luck on my own. :(

Why fly those amazing quads in LOS? I don’t get it. FPV would serve them better?
They probably use both.
Didn’t see any type of goggles
