You'd be surprised how many blue collars have red necks that are working union jobs up north. Back in the 50's and 60's Unions WERE pro republican, but that was when the party agendas were opposite of what they are now. I grew up in Detroit, and at that time there were a lot of auto workers voting Republican. Anyway, times have changed, and I only voted for a Republican once in my life, and NEVER AGAIN.

While I’m not clear on Cavuto’s intent with this interview, I note that he didn’t turn apoplectic in his response to the union leader. He gave some tepid push back, but nothing compared to what Sean Hannity might have given.
My dad was a union man and proud. He has good insurance and some extra benefits til he passed.
I work for a transit agency and we have a fantastic union. Unfortunatel, a large portion of the union members are actively voting in politicians who want to see their rights stripped, and they don't even recognize it.

My late father was a lifetime union member under the boilermakers union, he very much disliked trump.

I dont understand Trump's apparent super power to bewitch certain people, but it does exist.
For example, I once knew a guy who refered himself as a "hippie" for caring about the environment. He raled about strip mining, air pollution, yadayada. But ... then he started attending Trump rallies and suddenly he didnt "believe there's global warming".

At least Cavuto gave a labor leader a chance to speak without harrassing and riciculing him.
